Hotel Munay Cafayate

We really enjoyed our stay at this small, quiet and central hotel. Everybody was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are simple but very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was ok, however this was no surprise as Argentine breakfasts are usually rather modest.

I stayed at this hotel in March 2012, when there were not many reviews yet on TA and honestly spoken, I was a bit worried, because the first reviews were not good at all. Once arrived, we were really positively surprised by this small little hotel. From my point of view, the room was beautifully furnished (essential but with some style). It is ideally situated just 1 block from the main square. The hotel staff was very friendly and there was a private parking in the patio of the hotel (important for us, as we had a rental car). As unfortunately it was raining, we were not interested in the swimming pool, but what we could see, it was quite a ridiculous pool - so if you are looking for a hotel with pool, I would choose another hotel. The bathroom was spacious and clean and they had some nice towels (small details, but I still remember them afte many months).||Good wi-fi connection. Only the breakfast could be improved, as there is no choice at all. But there is a very nice bakery just 50 meters from the hotel and we got some really nice medialunas there. So I can recommend to anyone staying here. Very good price-quality ratio in the center of Cafayate

Our room was very dark and the furniture dark as well and there was no view from the window, we had to keep the curtain closed, so the first impression was not overwhelming. But it was okay for one night. Basic, clean, functional. The room opened to a nice little patio. ||||Best I can say about this hotel is the location: just one block from the main plaza, and in walking distance to several bodegas. The bodega Nanni for example is just a few steps away and turned out to be an excellent choice: lovely bodega with very good organic wines. ||||Wifi was not very good, but this was true for most northern-Argentinian hotels in which we stayed. ||||Breakfast also was typical for Northern Argentina: People here love sweet stuff, so we got nothing else in Hotel Munay, just toast, some sweet cake, dulce de leche and jam. It was horrible for me, because there was no cheese or sausage or fresh fruit. People like me should buy some provisions the day before so that the can eat something hearty in the morning. ||||Hotel Munay was not expensive, the location is very good, the rooms are decent, the staff is very friendly: so overall it was good value.

The Munay Cafayate hotel is excellent. Close to the main square and historic centre. The hotel staff was friendly and the breakfast was very rich and abundant, providing excellent service in relation to price-quality.|The building is modern, and its facilities are very comfortable, the setting of the place according to the region where it is located.||

We stayed here at Christmas - no atmosphere, dark and uninviting. Pool for the kids was small, plastic and unattractive. Breakfast very average - no fruit, ham or cheese. They even charged extra if you wanted hot water outside of breakfast hours. No laundry service. Best I can say is location was convenient close to square and room was clean.

Ideally located One block from town center this well designed , modern and very functional hotel offers comfortable rooms around a beautiful courtyard at an economical rate. Staff very attentive and the included breakfast ample and tasty. At least four bodegas with wine tastings are within two blocks and easily walked to. Covered parking at rear. Highly recommended.

New hotel situated one block from the main plaza. Current picture on their website does not do it justice. Friendly helpful manager despite lack of English. Rooms basic but very clean and certainly adequate for a couple of night's stay. Rooms laid out around a pretty inner courtyard but view from room window not so good. Secure parking at the back of hotel.

A nice hotel very close to the main square. Comfortable rooms with air conditioning and supportive beds. ||I stayed here 3 nights and my biggest complaint was that the WIFI is only available in the breakfast room. Travelling alone, I am online quite a bit and it was very hard to get connected to their WIFI and then once connected I realized that my room was too far away from the router. Also, no one here speaks English, so it's a little tricky to negotiate technical problems like routers if your Spanish is not up to snuff. But everyone is very nice, even so. ||My second floor view was of the neighbor's yard, under construction.
