We had a 2 night stay at the hotel. We had no issues with the noise, although this hotel is right at a busy street. The rooms were OK for the price you pay. The staff was very kind and helpful for us so definitely good experience.

This hotel unfortunately is not as it was described in the guidebook. It makes a decent impression when you enter. The reception area / dining area is fine. The breakfast is also ok. However, the rooms are not nice at all. The bed/ mattress was in a terrible condition with one side sagging down. We also had a couple of roaches in the room. Yes, it is not expensive but we decided to change hotel within Salta because we really didn't like this one. We were under the impression that the hotel staff didn't seem to care much.

Due to the recommendation of Lonely Planet I stayed two nights in this hotel in a single room and i think it's not the worst choice in Salta but definitly it's not that nice as it is described in the LP. The location is not bad (three or four blocks from the plaza). The rooms are clean but mine was very small. I saw a double room which seemed much more comfortable, amply and nice. You should definitly ask for a room that hasn't a window to the very noisy and busy street in front of the hotel. The breakfast was ok: not the standard of a hotel maybe but good enought for someone who usually stays in hostels. The staff was friendly. The rooms usually also have TV but mine didn't work. The hotel offers the possibility to pay with credit card (which most of the cheaper accommodations in Argentina doesn't).

We did end up staying here for 4 nights but mostly because we couldn't be bothered to move. On the positive side, the location is very near to the square and easy to find from the bus station, just directly down San Martin. Staff were okay, though no English at all. Fair enough, it's a Spanish speaking country. Breakfast was the usual variety of dry white breads and sweets, sugar cereal, thin yogurt and coffee/tea On the negative, the rooms are just barely okay. The worst were badly stained pillows that are not quite covered by pillow cases that are too small. Yuck! The room and common area appeared worn but adequately clean. The hotel is right by a popular bus stop so is general mayhem in the evenings. We got an inside room so noise level was okay. We would recommend it only to those who are not clean freaks and not looking for European standards.

The location is quite good. The service was average. There were two beds in our room and both were narrow and broken. The hostel was noisy, especially early in the morning with a raucous tour group breakfasting and checking out early, waking our sleeping baby. Soon after this people in adjoining rooms started moving furniture around (I wondered if it was the cleaners who had swung into action) - still only around 8.30am, which is early in Argentina. The breakfast was mediocre and when I went down to breakfast about 9am there was no crockery left even though the breakfast room was mostly empty and I had to wait for replenishments to arrive.

We stayed three nights in one of the newly renovated rooms on the ground flood. ||The rooms are nicely refurbished and spotless, the breakfast is good, the personnel veey attentioned and friendly and the location very, very central. ||A good choice for USD 40-45 per night for a double room.

Friendly staff, but that is about it... Now let me list the negatives:||* We booked for 1 night, but ended up staying 2 nights. 1st night was paid by credit card. For the 2nd night extension, the clerk all the sudden said if we paid by credit card, there will be a 15% surcharge! Then asked us for cash for 2 nights stay, on top of what we already paid for the first night. Their operation is not computerized, so it took them to look through handwritten records to correct this...||* No staff speak or understood ANY BASIC English. The above correction was only possible because my traveling companion spoke Spanish.||* WiFi does NOT work inside rooms. WiFI is only available in the common areas of each floor and in the breakfast area at the reception area. ONLY the rooms have air conditioning. And in the summer it is SUPER HOT because there are no immediate windows for the common rooms! So WiFi is basically not usable, unless you can tolerate 100 deg humid heat sitting in the common rooms.||* No elevator. We stayed on the 2nd (American 3rd) floor. The stairs are literally (I measured) only 24" wide, with twisting 360 snake like turns. Again, the stairs are not air conditioned. It was hell taking your luggage upstairs and downstairs.||* Electrical outlets are only under the sink and inside the bathroom. Very inconvenient. My smartphone and USB charger also fried at this hotel due to a electrical surge (I could smell smoke), but this is not the hotel's fault; it is the area.||* The light switches are all ivory colored plastic, and you can see dark brown edges... They were filthy.||* Breakfast is the usual budge Buenos Aires fair, consisting of glazed croissants and pastry, yogurt, artificial juice drink, and coffee & tea. There were files everywhere inside the super hot breakfast area...||||I do not usually give this kind of hotel reviews, but sorry, you need to be warned...

Nice small cosy place. Not so nice surroundings at night though.
