Yelp
Solid hotel with excellent staff. Merle checked us in and she was very nice. Small and quiet atmosphere.
Easiest to pull in front of the hotel and at check-in they will valet for you. They've recently done some renovations, but not having been here before, not sure of what the differences are. They have an elevator, but unless your taking luggage up it's quicker to take the stairs.
Room is standard accommodations for two people. No seating area, just a chair by the bed. A small juliet balcony, but you can get larger rooms with walk-out balconies. They provide water and apples in the room as well as a lightly stocked mini-bar that is complementary for the room and stocked once a day. It had apple and orange juice, waters, coke, diet coke and two beers. Very quiet in the back of the hotel overlooking the courtyard. Great insulation on the windows.
We didn't eat in the restaurant, but it looked beautiful. They do have a courtyard behind the restaurant and they can seat you out there for breakfast or dinner. This is Germany, so if you are on a patio anywhere, there will probably be smokers and it is allowed. I did go by the restaurant one morning and ask for a coffee to go... the server brought me the coffee to go on a tray and included sugar, cream and biscotti for me as well! Very nice!
They are quick to change your room over in the morning, but I don't think they replace shower toiletries until they come around for turndown service. Towel warmer in bathroom! Shower worked well.
We grabbed a bite to eat in the hotel bar on our last night. Just a hamburger and a caeser salad, but they were pretty good. They stay open 'til 1 am, but I think the kitchen closes around 9pm (but that's still later than a lot of places). Anita A. at the bar was very charming and we appreciated her enthusiasm, helpfulness and friendly demeanor.
It's about a 20-30 minute walk from the hotel to Marienplatz, but well worth it. If you walk down Prinzeregentsstraße you pass a beautiful stature and from there you can walk along the river down a bridge or two before walking into old town. They also have bikes to lend for free to guests.
