Hotel Murcia Rincón de Pepe Affiliated by Meliá

Hotel was well situated right next to a Mercado gastronómico with lots of different types of food to eat. It is also right across the cathedral and city centre. The reception desk was pleasant and helpful. Room/hotel was clean. A/C worked well and was cooling (July). The only downfall, as with most city hotels in Europe, was the parking. The parking for the hotel was a few blocks away, we had to park in front of the hotel, bring the luggage down, and then continue to the parking. Also, there were homeless people around. Although I feel safe, it was concerning to see homeless people sleeping on the floor right across from the hotel.

Hotel is in a great location. Our room was very large with an outside seating area . Great storage area for clothes.Great big bed with comfortable mattress and pillows etc. Quiet. Lovely bathroom with robes and slippers. But one bottle of water throughout the stay. Others available in fridge which would have to be paid for.. However the whole experience was somewhat underwhelming. The very modern reception was unwelcoming. No atmosphere whatsoever. The cellar bar was dark and unwelcoming. Not a place to go for a quiet drink. So much more could have been done with the communal areas of hotel. The room was great , the breakfast was very tasty with great range of choices . But somehow it wasn't the usual 4 star experience for us sadly.

The hotel is excelent, the staff is efficient and friendly. The only reason I don't give it a full 5 star review is because there wasn't a USB socket or a kettle for a morning coffee or tea. Other than that excellent. Location was perfect for our Santana concert at the bullring. The hotel is right next door to the spectacular Cathedral and the fantastic Mercado de Correos. Would highly recommend.

Stayed here for one night on our way to Almeria. Location was perfect, right opposite the Cathedral and near some lovely little cocktail bars. Room was modern and clean and the large terrace balcony was great for some afternoon sun!

This is supposedly a 4 star hotel, it is very clean and grey in all ways….. Large bedroom and shower room, but totally lacking in|any “ luxury “ oldish off white towels, no dressing gown or slippers, no body lotion|1 free bottle of water only, no tea or coffee machine in the room, charged 2 € for a cup of hot water - which was taken off the |bill after a battle ! |Maybe 4 star decor but 2 star in any |expected extras

Great central location in Murcia. The Cathedral just a couple minutes away is beautiful and there are great spots for food nearby. ||Hotel room was dirty when we checked in and needed housekeeping to go back in to clean up. ||Overall the service was quite poor at receptions, their restaurant and checkout service.

For personal reasons, we could not stay at this hotel as planned. I contacted the hotel directly, and one of their team members (Lucía) was very responsive and supportive. We can't wait to stay in the hotel in the future, as many of our friends have told us how great it is and the service is clearly excellent.

We have stayed in this hotel several times and up until now have been happy with it. Last week we stayed for two nights and were very disappointed. We booked a premium room and the first evening we asked the reception to turn on the air conditioning as it was very warm. (24 deg centigrade) They advised that in the winter the heating was centrally controlled and that all they could do was switch it off in our room. That didn’t happen and the room was very hot during the night so had to leave the window open. Being directly across the road from the Mercado de Correos it is very noisy until after 01:00h so had a very bad sleep. We told the reception again in the morning but again nothing was done. |The breakfast has also deteriorated with very little choice and no breakfast tea. The rooms are also very tired looking. On checking out we told the reception that we had not been happy and we were told that we would receive an email for feedback. This has never been received hence my review on Trip Advisor.||This hotel is in a great position, near to the old town and the cathedral. Being associated to Melia I would expect a better standard.
