Hotel Murten

Before the restoration in the bar, the service was 5 starts, now the home made ice tea is just a glass and not a bottle, the Capucino without cafe, just milk and also no more cookies with the cafe. Upgrade in decoration and downgrade in service

What a fun place to go in a beautiful town. We had a group function here and it could've easily "gone off the rails" but the service was impeccable and very friendly. I had the macaroni with applesauce and it was perfectly seasoned. The noodles *might have been slightly overcooked but, considering all the meals that came at one, it was a dang good job. We had a chocolate dessert and it was delicious!! Makes me sad that we choose to stay at a different hotel vice staying here! Next time!

It could be a fantastic hotel! Great location, just a couple of minutes from the lake and the old town/restaurants/cafes, 15min on foot from the train station. Impeccable service, everyone is very kind and helpful. Breakfast was fine, coffee so so. Nice restaurant space. For the price paid, the room was a bit shabby: the room itself is nicely decorated, clean, excellent heating in winter; soundproofing is very poor though. You could hear people sneeze. No doors to the bathroom, no privacy, luckily the toilet had one, but the ventilation system there is very loud and one could hear it from upstairs as well at any time of the day. The sink is in the hallway, it's the first thing one sees when entering the room. The toilet door's handle was broken - I am grateful it was fixed once I pointed it out. Currently (02.2024) there is a construction going on next door, and your are notified about it only once the booking is done. I appreciated that they gave us a room on the opposite side from construction, otherwise, the work starts at 7am! My point is that when charging over 200CHF per room per night one shouldn't have such issues.

Great location 2 minutes walk from the old town area & 5 minutes walk (downhill) to the lake side.|Hotel has a number of free parking spaces (but not reserved ) but paid parking just across the road |Staff very friendly & and welcoming. Lady explained on map where to go for food & exploring old town & lake. Couldn't book evening meal as event happening.|Room was comfortable - split double bed & lovely duvet/pillows. Room was very warm but had a fan ( this helped a little) Bathroom was large - had double sinks but shower over bath - no anti slip mat, so a little dodgy. Also,shower head height was for small people - had to bend my knees to wash hair & am only 5' 8in. Toiletries included.|Breakfast was continental buffet style & very nice with good choice

Nice small cute hotel in Murten. First time here and liked this place. They have an amazing bar and quite modern. The rooms and nice and tiny may be you can call them half rooms, but I should say conveniently located closed to the centre of the city.

Hotel room was large for Swiss/European standards. The room was clean and comfortable. WiFi worked well (as one would expect). Breakfast wasn't expansive but was perfectly fine and better than average for a 3-star establishment. Front desk was able to accommodate a slightly late check-out, which was appreciated -- as was the free on-site parking. Great location.

I was there for 2 nights, and I paid 300€. I think our room was one of the largest in the hotel with ikea furniture. There was a 2 twin beds with only a folded duvet and a dining area. It was not addapted for wheel chairs, because there were some stairs to access the bathroom and the dining area. The bathroom was old (but I believe it was somehow renovated) and it had a bathtub, which was too dangerous to step out from there. The water was either too hot or too cold. The weather was hot, and the room had no AC. The hotel provided a fan, which was not enough to get the room cooler. At a first sight, the room seemed clean, but when I look closely it was dusty and there were some stains on the carpet. |The breakfast was poor (some bread, cereal or croissant with packed jam , cheese or ham). Coffee, milk, tea and juice available. |Most of the staff didn't speak English but they made an effort to communicate, trying to understand my Portuguese and my poor French. |I think I left a trimmer over there, I sent a message and I 'm still waiting for the answer. |All in all, too expensive for the service and room they provide. ||

Very comfortable beds, very clean, very friendly staff, thoughtful and there to serve you in a way that makes you feel welcome and comfortable. I would have rated excellent if there weren't the dogs - even in the breakfast room! - and the noise heard from the other rooms. Still I would recommend this place because price/value/location/service is very good.
