Hotel Murtenhof & Krone

I will always stay here whenever I return! Everything was wonderful! Great breakfast, fantastic, roomy room and bath, and a terrific restaurant on the terrace in back with views of the lake.

This hotel is within the walls of the medieval city, and it feels like you're staying in a castle. We were 9 adults and 2 toddlers in Switzerland for a family reunion. All the rooms are charmingly different, many with views of the lake, with comfortable beds (one had a canopy) and plenty of drawers and closet space. Breakfast is bountiful and delicious, with lake view, and coffee and tea are always available in the lobby. Location is great, steps from the covered arcade of shops and restaurants as well as the staircase to the city ramparts. Friendly, helpful service made our stay there truly special.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. After checking in we were each given a token which we could use on the cold drink machine to get a refreshing drink! It is in a great location as it is on the edge of the old part of town and is the first hotel you meet after the five-minute walk from the train station. Our rooms were interesting and large and had some unique features to them. Breakfast was good and had a sampling of different options. The next day we checked out and they stored our luggage while we went to Avranches for the morning. They were very accommodating and allowed us to put some leftovers into their refrigerator to stay cool. Their restaurant has a view of the lake but it was not open the evening we stayed. The lobby is very comfortable and a cozy place to sit and unwind.

We had a very good stay at this hotel. Nice room with a splendid view on the Murten lake. The very old hotels Murten Hof and Krone are merged and beautifully designed and decorated inside. The breakfast offers a great selection of food and drinks. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Don’t hesitate to book this hotel when staying in the marvellous city of Murten.

My husband and I came to Murten to meet relatives who live here. This hotel is beyond charming and the hospitality is above 5 stars. We became friendly with Marc and Ariste, the brothers/ owners of this hotel. We learned the history of this multigenerational ownership. The staff was always friendly and professional. We highly recommend staying here.

We travelled with our two grandchildren and couldn't have had a better experience. We stayed in one of the suites but were given access to the Spa suite which was a fabulous thing for the management to do. The managemnet team were also very good in helping us choose which suite was best for the grandkids, a really nice, personal touch.||Location is great.||Food was superb and the resturant staff were fabulous. Shout out to Philip who is a confident and engaging young man who my grandchildren thought was 'amazing'. The restaurant was closed one night for a conference but the staff went out of their way to prepare a Fondue for our family of 8 people and two grandkids!||First class all the way and we will be back.

Very nice restaurant. I went there for cuple of drinks. The staff is very friendly. The only problem i had was, one of the waiter was talking to some girls and i was asking for some ice and he didn't mind. (It was just causal talk) The drinks were also very expensiv, 12Fr. for 1 cocktail. But all in all its a nice place.
