I came just for the tour I did not stay in the hotel. The tour is free as long you eat there. The place was really nice and it many historical pieces.

Gorgeous. It is a hotel and a museum. You can stay there, or pay for a tour and learn the history of the place. We went for brunch, which was good and not too expensive. The lobby, though... worth just popping in to marvel at the stained glass doors and ceiling. And check out the well in the middle of the room! From what I saw online, rooms are not even that expensive, not for somewhere that swanky. Wish we'd had more time to explore it or more money to stay there!

One of the unique and beautiful hotels that I have seen in my travels around the world. It is like staying in a museum with over 700 paintings surrounding you.||The hotel was built in 1675. With various uses over the years, including a monastery. All of the beautiful walls and ceilings were painted by hand during an eight year remodel.||My son and I stayed in the Francisco suite. As corporate pilots we frequent a number of hotels and this was a treat.||The staff were very helpful and patient with my little knowledge of Spanish.||Located in the Centro, it is within east walking distance of many restaurants and sites. The nearby plaza is active at night with performers , music and just fun!||The downtown area is clean with street vendors selling unique crafts along with many storefronts. The architecture is fascinating to see .||I highly recommend this hotel , you will enjoy it.

It was an incredible experience staying here. Jorge, Alejandra, Paquito and Pablo were incredible. The tour of the hotel was perfect. The hotel restaurant staff were incredibly attentive and the food was unique and delicious! The view from the rooftop was astounding! Every piece of furniture, every board every wall and ceiling were interesting. The room felt like we were royalty. The epitome of comfort and elegance. Everyone should stay here once in their lifetime!

We stayed at this hotel October 16th. Unfortunately our experience was bad as we had some of our belongings taken. We had left our baggage in our room with some money in it and when we had returned to our room we had more than $500 dollars missing from our baggage. We proceeded to tell the front desk and they acted like nothing happened. They were no help and reported nothing. It sucks to know that they go through your room when you’re not in there and go through your belongings.

The hotel is beautiful and was built in the 1600’s. Everything is grand and graceful from the entry and throughout the entire palace. Make sure to ask for a tour, it’s very interesting and there are photo opportunities that are uniquely placed through windows that uniquely frame the churches in the area. Shopping is nearby. The valet, reception and dining staff are all helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay for one night. We ate in the dining room, service was a bit slow but the meals we chose were very good. Due to the hiking and river trips we were taking we needed laundry washed. One load was 1182. Pesos which was quite high for one load. The shower was great, water pressure was nice. One of 3 great showers I had on this trip. I would stay here again if I return to the area.

I stayed at this hotel wth friends for 2 nights, February 12 and 13, 2018 and I was astonished at the beautiful antiques and furnishings of this hotel. The rooms were charming and felt luxurious with the excellent service and beautiful furniture. The hotel staff were extremely courteous and accommodating to the variety of needs from the people in our group.||During our visit one of my friends became ill and spent most of the time in her room. The staff were remarkable in the care and attention they paid to her. We relied exclusively on room service for her and the meals were wonderful and the service extraordinary. Cesar was the one who took charge of the dining room and room service and he was wonderful.|His care and attention made our stay very enjoyable despite the illness of our friend.||We visited several cathedrals and museums while in San Luis Potosí. If you have a chance to visit the Museo de la Mascara; the Museum of Masks, pay attention to the beautiful ceilings in this converted house. Be sure to look up in each of the rooms. These are the most beautiful ceilings you are likely to ever see!|

Yelp
Wow this is a historic hotel with a history. Luckily we had friends that knew the people that work here and we were able to get a tour. The basement area has old tunnels that house a under ground spring. Most of San Luis Potosí at least the older parts still use the springs as their water source. If you get a chance while being a tourist, stop by and see if you can learn more about some of the history of San Luis Potosí
