While this hotel is well-appointed, beautiful, relatively new, and a little more spacious than other hotels I've stayed at in Akihabara, it's unconscionable for me to give this place more than a single star. Our non-smoking room REEKS of smoke.
The front desk came up to unlock our window and let the room air out. They also had us use the air freshener and humidifier. It would be different if someone had just indulged once in here, but the curtains, carpet, and even the wallpaper smell terribly.
I'm one of those obnoxious "allergic to smoke" people, So the smell makes me nauseous, gives me a headache, makes my throat sore, and more. Waking up in the room is gross.
It's relatively close to Akihabara station - a ten minute walk, anyway - which is close enough that our open window lets in a ton of train noise. At least we can't hear too much going on in the hallways and adjacent rooms.
