Hotel Nassau Breda, Autograph Collection

Very nice hotel in former 19th century monastery / orphanage. The building has been lovingly restored respecting the details and stories that reflect its history. The meeting rooms are beautifully furnished. The former old rooms now hold a bar and the the chapel is tastefully decorated so you can hold a major party there. Fits well within the autograph collection of historical and beautiful hotels. Located right in the heart of historical Breda, within short walking distance of the cathedral, market square, castle and lots of shops and great cafés to hang out.

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Nassau Breda. The building itself is stunning, full of character and history, yet beautifully renovated with modern comfort in mind. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and thoughtfully designed, with a comfortable bed that ensured a great night’s sleep. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, always willing to help and making us feel truly welcome. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and high-quality options. The hotel’s location is perfect — right in the heart of Breda, within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, and cultural sights. Overall, a fantastic experience combining luxury, history, and warm hospitality. Highly recommended, and I would definitely stay here again.

Once the best Hotel in Breda, it is starting to age. First off, the staff is great, helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the room wasn't up to par for a premium hotel. The toiletpaper holder was bust, the shower drain was clogged and caused a flooding in zero time as the design floor had no water barriers. The bartender was friendly but clearly not a pro cocktail maker. This is all fine and well for a mid range place, but not in a premium hotel that charges top prices. There must be better options, value for money wise.

Very courteous and thoughtful staff. Extremely convenient location with an easy walk to most of what one would probably want to do in town. Interesting history and decor. I was a bit intrigued that the bathroom didn’t have a door. Fine if you’re traveling alone but a bit lacking in comfort for me. And they have valet parking so after negotiating traffic, you can just hand over the keys and relax

Visited on a Friday night for 1 night, I paid for the room with points and upgraded to a Junior Suite using my Marriot Bonvoy status. Room: The suite was very large with a toilet in its own room (it's annoying how the doors are frosted glass like and have large gaps so there is a lack of privacy). The bathroom had a bath shower which I usually do not like, however the shower head was large and in a good position above you; the best bath shower I've ever had - however the bath was not grippy and therefore it was slippy when getting out; this could be dangerous for some people. The bathroom was missing hand soap and the shower gel would not come out of the bottle - slight annoyances. The fridge in the room was a nice touch. We did not hear a thing whilst in the room from the outside, it was extremely quiet. The bed was the most comfortable I've slept on at a hotel, the mattress was amazing and the pillows were also very good - uncommon in a hotel! Did not spend much time on the WiFi or used the TV to comment. Service: Check-in was simple and quick. The bar service was extremely slow in the evening, we were stood around for 5? minutes before the bar staff (who were in and out doing other jobs) acknowledged us. We were about to give up and go somewhere else, would have done if it was not for the free drink as a welcome gift. Food: Only had breakfast in the morning, the selection was okay, the food was very average on the buffet - potentially as it was 10:30am and it closes at 11am. -- Parking was nearby at a multi story car park, this was slightly annoying as the lift was out of service and carrying suitcases up and down the stairs was not great (not the hotels fault). The hotel generally seemed to be located in a good area and very near to restaurants etc.

An amazing hotel, and lives up to the Autograph collection standard. Beautiful hotel, it was and old chapel, and now it is transformed into this magnificent hotel. The rooms, amenities, decorations, all revolve around the Chapel theme. Service is really great, different rooms have unique layouts, design, and artwork. The location is right in the heart of Breda. Highly recommended.

We had a one night stay which turned out to be 0 hours of sleep due to an ongoing wedding party. Spoke to nightporter who said the music will be until 6 am. NOT ACCEPTABLE for a 5 star hotel. In the morning the manager said we would get a full refund which we have been chasing for weeks now. Endless calls with no solution. Beyond Terrible customer service and worse than a small budget hotel.

Stayed here for a couple of months and loved every night. Great location, the hotel itself is super fancy. But the best part was the staff and the manager Timo. He went above and beyond when one of my colleagues passport was stolen. He and his staff called the police station several times until we got some help. They truly take care of their clients.

Spent one night at this unique and lovely hotel! I believe it's a converted church, but the decor is 'all things holy and Nuns'. My room was comfortable and spacious, complimentary water and in room Nespresso were bonus. The room also had an iron/board and hair dryer. As a Bonvoy Gold, they had a nice note, small bottle of wine and mixed nuts to welcome me. The complimentary breakfast was great with tons to choose from and all the espresso drinks your heart desires! From lobby has a nice bar and also a fun confessional where you can take pics (but I never got the email with the pics!) Central and within walking distance to Breda downtown.

Here are the reasons I have it this rating: Cleaning stuff left a dirty rag on the counter. The shower drain was clogged and water overflowed in the bathroom area. They finally sent someone to fixed the clog. On the bright side, it's location is the most praiseworthy. You can access restaurants and shops working short walking distance in all directions.

Now this hotel really was quite unbelievable and seems to have a reputation in the southern Netherlands that precedes itself. I was wondering why they were laying it on thick with the church theme to the decor on my initial wander through the hotel, complete with erotic illustrations of nuns in predominantly modern decor. However, on closer inspection, I saw how this was obviously a very old building in the beautiful old town of Breda, which was once a church. As this was a business trip to The Netherlands that my new boss from America had booked, I was slow arriving to the party in realising this was part of the Marriott chain and one of their Autograph brand hotels. It wasn't until morning, when I went down to breakfast that the Hail Mary epiphany moment came. On entering the restaurant for breakfast, that seemed an awfully long walk through the hotel corridors, interspersed with old beams and funnily shaped walls, I was struck by an awesome site. To the right of a typically posh breakfast area was a plexiglass wall in front of a second floor perch view of a glorious medieval church. The staff kindly opened the door to let me admire this historic spectacle that was now a multi-purpose meeting/dance hall. My boss and I spoke of our pleasant surprise with the revelations we had with this hotel over breakfast, which were shared sentiment our clients later that morning had when they asked where we stayed. "Oh, you stayed at the Nassau!" Were it not a business trip, Breda is definitely a lovely place to visit longer and the Nassau is definitely worth a second trip in itself.

Stunning yet reasonably priced boutique-style hotel in Breda (Netherlands), affiliated with Marriott thru Autograph Collection. Property is a converted church building connected with some other buildings. Great location next to shopping and walkable area. Everything still looks new, and rooms are spacious. Confidence-inspiring service, they helped arrange a car in the early morning to a relatively far destination. Driver was friendly and prompt, car was spotless.

We stayed in Hotel Nassau for a week during a visit to Breda. As we used to live in Breda for many years, we loved the fact that the hotel is located on the heart of the historic city center. From the hotel you can easily walk to all the nice landmarks, restaurants and bars. The hotel is really nicely designed with spacious rooms that are very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The bar is small but really nice. It's not a huge hotel, so ideal for a nice getaway or for business visits. We didn't use the restaurant or breakfast, because there are a lot of options within a ten minute walk. I would certainly recommend staying here. We will certainly come back the next time we're in Breda.
