Nassauer Hof (Wiesbaden, Hesse) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"This lovely grand hotel has been in existence since 1813 and retains its classic style. But that doesn't stop it moving with the times, as evidenced by the elegant, contemporary upmarket rooms and the impressive spa on the fifth floor with a view over the city and 32°C thermal pool. Seasonal cuisine and classics in the Orangerie restaurant with winter garden." - Tablet Hotels

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Everything else is completely outdated, which explains why they’re renovating next year and closing for two years. This is definitely not a 5-star hotel — more like a 2 or maybe 3-star at best. I honestly don’t know how they managed to keep their 5-star status in Germany, where standards are usually quite strict. My first room was a decent size for a single, but it felt like a sauna. When I called the front desk, they told me to “just open the window,” which would have let in every insect possible since there are no window screens. Later I discovered the heater was stuck on full blast, even though the thermostat was turned off — it was completely broken. I asked for another room but was told the hotel was fully booked. Thankfully, Marta, a very kind staff member who brought me a fan, saw how unbearable the room was and advocated for me. Without her help, I might have passed out from the heat. The second room I was moved to was half the size and smelled strongly of mold, but at least the temperature was tolerable. Overall, I cannot in good faith recommend this hotel to anyone, especially not for the price they charge. I still have one more night to stay and honestly wish I could leave. I just hope I don’t get sick from the mold smell. I will ask if I can be moved to another room tomorrow but I doubt they will be very helpful at the front desk based on my previous experience. Editing because I did receive excellent service in the morning from reception I did not catch the lady’s name, but she tried her best to make the situation right and promised me an adequate room when I came back from my meeting which she did. I still sticl by the fact that based on amenities it’s a 3 star, but I’m much happier with my room today.

The location is the only good thing about this hotel. It might have been a five star decades ago, but now the rooms are outdated (in every aspect imaginable), there is no turn down service (it’s basically super understaff and the ones who are there mostly don’t speak any German). Hopefully it will be bought and renovated one day, for now I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

A fourty year ambition was achieved by staying at the Nassauer Hof. Whilst they’re clearly winding down a bit before the huge refurb, we had the best stay - gorgeous hotel, great room, charming personnel and the location is perfect. Will start saving now to stay when the refurb is complete. Hope it retains its classy, restrained atmosphere. ❤️

I submitted a post-stay survey to LHW and the hotel but received no reply or acknowledgement from either, the hotel manager sent a post-stay email: "We would like to thank you for visiting Hotel Nassauer Hof. We hope that you enjoyed your stay with us and that everything was to your satisfaction. If all was to your liking and you would like to recommend our establishment to others, we would be delighted if you could rate your stay here. If you feel that something was amiss, I would appreciate a personal message instead. This will ensure we are better able to meet your requirements and wishes in the future. J.S. General Manager etc."||my room seemed quite old-fashioned and less comfortable or luxurious compared to the room I stayed in previously in the other wing of the hotel, it meant I had to walk by reception every time I crossed the hotel but the reception staff would usually not even say hello to guests, or at least not to me. I had a US$100 spa credit in my booking, I asked a guy at reception who confirmed that he expected I could buy a spa product with that (some are displayed in a cabinet at reception) but the spa staff refused to sell me a product for this value, I ordered fried eggs at breakfast one morning, 10 minutes later they had not arrived, I asked another staff member and after another 10 minutes they had still not arrived so I then had to ask another 3 staff members until eventually they arrived (I was not going to leave the breakfast room until I received them), they do very small fruit salads in glass jars at breakfast, on one morning they had none left when I arrived for breakfast (still more than 30-40 minutes from the time when breakfast was finishing) so I had to forego any fruit at breakfast that morning, on my final morning one side/half of the breakfast room where I had sat for breakfast each morning was closed off for a special event later in the day, I also had a problem when booking the hotel on LHW website, the hotel decided not to include VAT tax in their advertised price making their rooms appear substantially cheaper than they actually were, I only noticed this when confirming my booking when the VAT tax was suddenly added into the price on LHW website (by which time I had already booked my flight) so I did not appreciate this seemingly misleading price advertising on the part of the hotel, it is not my typical experience with LHW website over my very many years of LHW membership

Spacious Rooms, Great Staff – But Not Worth the Price The rooms are spacious and the staff is friendly and helpful. I was waiting briefly in the car for my parents at the entrance and got asked twice what I was doing — a bit much, but at least they’re attentive! That said, the price is hard to justify. It may be 10–20% better than other 4-star hotels in Wiesbaden, but it costs nearly 3 times as much. The thermal bath is a highlight and definitely a nice feature, but overall, the value for money just isn’t there.

The Nassauer Hof is certainly the grand hotel of Wiesbaden! It's location is hard to beat, especially for the Christmas Market which we were there to see. Very centrally located and a stunning building. The rooms were a great size and very comfortable. The spa pool was a nice inclusion to the stay as well. The bar was very lively in the evenings. I did not eat at the restaurant, but it does have a michelin star and the hotel breakfast was good (if not a bit expensive). Despite the grandness of the hotel, it's feeling a little dated. It feels like it was the height of elegance 40 years ago. No issues with the room, but I would say it was a little overpriced. Our view was of a nothing courtyard. The hotel bar allows smoking and was not so great to be in. We arrived with a car and it's not entirely obvious where to pull-in for valet or to unload luggage since the circle drive actually says taxis only. The staff was kind, but often seemed a bit annoyed to answer questions. The spa pool is nice, but basically just lukewarm and the sauna is an extra cost. The breakfast was good, but not quite worth the price tag. All in all, a nice stay, but the overall experience doesn't quite live up to the curb appeal

I stayed at this hotel for one night on 9.03.2025, and it was a very good experience from check in to check out. Very friendly receptionist. Super comfortable room on the 3rd floor overlooking the casino and square. The Bar is a fantastic experience, with a super intimate atmosphere and a fireplace to give you all the comfort you need. If you like a good cocktail and/or a good cigar, this is an outlet you can't miss. I highly recommend it and hope to return in the near future.

I recently stayed at Hotel Nassauer Hof in Wiesbaden, and it was an incredible experience. The hotel’s history and luxurious amenities really stood out. The highlight of my stay was the rooftop thermal pool, fed by the hotel’s own spring—an incredibly relaxing experience with stunning views of the city. The spa services were excellent, and the overall ambiance was peaceful and elegant. Dining at Ente, their Michelin-starred restaurant, was a culinary adventure. The multi-course duck-themed meal was a standout, and I highly recommend giving yourself time to fully enjoy the experience. The service throughout the hotel was impeccable, and the staff made sure every need was met. If you’re looking for a luxurious spa retreat with top-tier dining, Hotel Nassauer Hof is a perfect choice in Wiesbaden.

Yelp
Liked this hotel. Very kind and attentive, personally helpful staff. Rooms designed with Baus House/art deco/Weiner Werkstatte furniture. Clean. Restaurant food pretty good. Had very delicious and elegant dinners. Breakfasts had lovely continental and on menus choices. Walking distance to nice stores and delicious restaurants. Love Weisbaden. It's a great city.

Yelp
Old world German elegance, understated but charming. Roomy rooms, well appointed and sufficient in amenities. Beautiful view from our room of the stately casino and Opera house where we ventured every night for The Ring. Beautiful Artemis Spa and thermal pool as well as sauna, tanning and GYN facilities that I used daily : enjoying the roof top solarium only for the view.... too cold. The masseuses are excellent and the menu is varied fort beauty treatments. Three big fat drawbacks: There is smoking allowed in the rooms so ask for no smoking room! AND the bar is completely off limits for that reason stinks of stale tobacco. Also wifi is €15.50 a day? Really? It's 2017... connectivity is like oxygen. Otherwise super hotel great location wonderful staff - except the old curmudgeon in the Orangerie cafe... no comment. Danke for a great stay!

Yelp
Gorgeous old world luxury and truly first class service. The beautiful architecture alone should make this hotel worth staying at, but the service and attention to the customer is what really sets it apart. One small example of this was my wife's need of serious wrinkle removal. All it took was one quick call to the desk and her items were picked up, pressed and returned to the room all within half an hour. Amazing! Breakfast was a fantastic affair, such good service, especially for a buffet and the baked goods were beyond perfection. So flakey! We got in too late for dinner, but Michelin thinks there restaurant is top notch, what more could you want!

Yelp
Great overall stay at a classic eligant hotel. Came here for a company offsite and had the pleasure to observe the flawless execution of the staff's service throughout the the day. Great meeting space and breakout rooms; a variety of tasty breakfast and lunch selection; and the benefits of all the luxury the hotel has to offer _ such as a pool, spa , a great workout area; bar; and a high quality restaurant. Being located in the heart of downtown makes it easy to explore the city on foot and have an opportunity to shop at some really unique stores. This is the first hotel I ever stayed that have a double sink - I was impressed by how roomy that bathroom space is as well as the room. Another unique feature is that you are issued an actual key for your room which you have to use to get into your room and well as get out (There is no automatic lock). I had a great experience here and am looking forward to coming back in the future.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff who speak great English!! My favorite thing about this hotel was the breakfast. They had two big tables full of food ranging from eggs, meat, breads, jam, pâté, you name it they had it. You could even order anything you wanted from their kitchen (aka poached eggs etc) and they would gladly bring you coffee, tea or any other beverage you desire. The rooms were lovely, I really liked how they provided you with two separate duvet covers for the king size bed, so no fighting for the blanket! The wifi was a little sketchy, sometimes it would be really strong but other times the connection would just fizzle out. It was the strongest when I was in the lobby, so maybe it was just because I was in my room. The bathroom was beautiful, but the bathtub was really high so that made it difficult to get in and out of the shower. Comfy beds, and the TV had a ton of different channels in a bunch of different languages, even Arabic! The swimming pool is also worth checking out, it has a cool view of the city.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful decor. I did not stay at the hotel but visited the lobby. I am sure it is super expensive but is probably worth the money (if you have it to blow). The staff behaved as you would expect at a 5 star hotel.
