The whole experiance was wonderful, everyone we met ie reception staff , restaurant staff were friendly, spoke to us in English, the spa area especially pool ,sauna steam was exceptionally clean , the position of the hotel in the village is central and near the very pretty church, we took a bus to glossglockner which was great and just outside hotel. If in area will go again to this great hotel, fantastic views, staff and just wow

Ok I mean you’re paying for location to the Alpine road. The staff was very nice. But. I felt like I was staying at the hotel from the Shining. Weird staircases, elevators, and rooms in strange nooks and crannies. We paid for budget double because we figured most our time would be in the park But. It was a relic. And our view was the cleaning ladies smoking on their break in a crevice between the buildings. For the price we paid I would’ve expected a nicer room. And the parking you have to walk 200m to a free garage but god luck on the 6 corners to get your car to next level/exit without hitting the narrow corners. I would not go again but as I said the staff was very nice it’s just the building is creepy old with no updates to rooms. Especially for price you pay.

I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. It is unnecessarily expensive for what it offers. The service was poor and definitely not up to the standard you would expect for the price. The mattress was extremely soft and uncomfortable, making it hard to get a good night’s sleep. The rooms are outdated and in serious need of renovation. Overall, the hotel feels old and neglected. The only advantage is its good location.

Not every paid advertisement in Financial Times is truthful unfortunately. The hotel is well located, but the ski slopes are quite below the average ski resorts in Austria. There are no other ski resorts nearby. Good for beginner skiers. The premium suites are just bigger room. The bathrooms were not renovated much since the last century. Would have been acceptable if the prices were adequate. There is no good value for money. Though the food is good and diverse. It is funny to paid for the water which is from the tap in the restaurant. The staff are quite rude apart from one. There are a lot of rules to follow and it easy to be in non compliance. The spa is great!

So location is very good direct 2 minutes from the gate to grossglocker alpine road, room was not so clean, bed very uncomfortable, that night wasnt very full but that gave us a room in the corner where the unique bar is so thx at 1:30 i was up. Head from shower wasnt possible to take to hand it was taped ( afraid from robbery???) i wanted to call to a reception cause when we get to the room electricity didnt worked but phone didnt worked also than after 10 min we founded some button to turn on the electricity. It wasnt clean also

The hotel is located centrally and close to the lift, but that is probably the only benefit you will get if you happen to have booked it. Most of the staff is extremely rude. The rooms are small and the bathrooms even smaller. The Spa area is renovated and good but the swimming pool is very cold. Not sure how they can have a 4 star rating. I will not recommend it even if offered for free!

Stayed here for a quick stop for coffee and cake. Calm, fantastic view and good and friendly service. Highly recommend. Did not stay in the hotel.

We stayed for a week with our family of 4 and grandma. Fantastic again! This is the 3rd time that we stayed at the Grossglockner lodge. The staff is extremely friendly, the food is diverse, great and very tasty - great sélection of Austrian wines. The spa is spacious with 2 saunas and a hammam. Nice and large swimming pool. A pity is that our boys are not allowed in the sauna (only +16yrs). The bedrooms are nice: spacious and with comfortable beds and linnen, bathrooms slightly out dated but well maintained, clean. Heiligenblut itself is very romantic, nature oriented away from the masses. Limited ski slopes, but some great ski tracks and off piste skiing and great ski tours with local guides. We’re experienced skiers and really enjoyed Heiligenblut. All in all probably best value for money in a wintersport resort.
