Great location and clean, but noisy and impractical bathtub.

.
Pros:
• Beautifully renovated interior and quality Rituals products.
• Strong water pressure, bathtub fills quickly, multifunctional hand/overhead shower.
• Clean and hygienic; cleaned daily.
• Breakfast is extensive and regularly replenished.
• Excellent location: just steps from the promenade, restaurants, and beach bars.
• Firm mattress and pleasant bed linens.
• Reception: Quick room change according to my booking and provided cardboard to block the curtain gap (see photo 2).
.
Cons:
• Noise disturbance:
Despite the new windows, all street noise is audible, even with windows and ventilation grilles closed. On the first night, I woke up in shock, thinking someone next to my bed shouted “Hé Chéri,,,” — but it was just someone in the hallway outside my door. The sound of talking guests and slamming doors sometimes made it feel like I was sleeping in the hallway. The next day, I bought earplugs.
• Other room types:
Even upgraded rooms have the same hallway noise issue. Some upgrades face the inner courtyard, which eliminates street noise.
• Privacy at end-of-building windows:
Rooms at the end of the corridor, where the building protrudes, have a narrow side window in a recess. Because the closed curtains hang 15 cm away from the wall, a vertical gap appears (see photo 1), allowing neighbors across to look straight into your room and letting bright sunlight shine onto your bed.
• Impractical bathroom:
– Toilet paper holder is awkwardly positioned behind the toilet; solved by placing a spare roll on the towel radiator within reach.
– Bathtub drain stopper control is awkwardly placed behind the fixed shower screen.
– When standing under the main shower, you are stepping on the drain stopper and water sprays partly next to the shower screen into the bathroom.
– Sitting on the flat bathtub section with the hand shower causes water to splash not only on the floor but also onto the sink, including any items placed on it.
– The bathtub layout would have been ideal if the fixed shower screen and shower head had been placed on the opposite side.
