Hotel Neptuno's Refugio

Outside at entrance you are welcomed by a open garbage dump with the appropiate smell. Travellingnwirh my child some relax time with tv would be nice, but not working. Shower, nope, no water either as pump was not working i was explained. Went for dinner to Neptunos resturant in front. Nope as i had a child we could not sit all the way out by the water, this was an empty resturant on a monday 7pm. There was some other family with children at sea front, maybe more important than us. Our spot supposedly beside the reconstructions all the way in. We of course left. After dinner i managed to repair the cable tv as it was a bad connection in rhe coaxial. Water was back on so we stay the night. Payment could not be done either as the card reader have bad connection.... All in all crap place with a shitty and expensive restutant in front. Save your money snd go somewhere else.

Decent rooms. Great views. Very nice pool area. Breakfast is amazing!

We have booked two nights this weekend, most important is that the hotel was very clean, rooms are good and the beds are perfect, breakfast was included, you also have free WiFi in the whole hotel, staff was very polite and helpful. Hotel is very close to the beach and if you book your room at the front of the hotel you have a nice ocean view. You can park your car in the private space at the hotel. I recommend this hotel when you want to spend some days in Boca Chica at a affordable price.

I picked Refugios on line and as a result of We had a simple room at the back of the hotel on 3rd floor. We had a king bed which was nice although the bed was a bit hard . We checked in and the staff was friendly. the hotel property was very nice with foilage and passion fruit vines over breakfast area. The whole property had a european feel. The only problem in room was the electrical on one side of room did not work. Upon checking out I informed the front staff. They were not aware of it. All in all I would definetly stay here again and at 50 dollars a night it was well worth it.

Excellent location! My only concern that I had was that it was impossible to shut the windows in the bedroom. They were screened, and had wooden slats over them with blinds... But you could not physically close them. The air conditioning unit was great, and kept it cool... Regardless, but it could not keep out the loud noises of birds/animals/workers/cars/loud drunk people/people smoking cigars/cigarettes outside. I would almost rate the hotel lower than 4 stars, but the arrangements were definitely nice.

This is my second time staying there. The service is great. The staff is always professional. I like their breakfast and although they have a variety of items; I almost always order like a local -the "tres golpes" (mangú, fried egg, fried cheese, & salami with more American style coffee and fresh made natural pineapple juice). They have a nice pool, free wifi, cable tv & ac in the rooms, and limited parking. I am not a big fan of the glass stairs.

The owner is very cheap! There's wasn't enough soap in the bathrooms. There was sand on the bedsheets indicating that they werent changed when the previous client left. The floor was dirty, so make sure that you don't walk in the room barefoot if you choose to go here. In the breakfast area there's a self-service table, I took some croissants while breakfast was ready, and we were yelled at by the owner because they were meant for some other gest (why was it there there then?) She then later tries to get it back from our table and stopped when she notice that they were bitten . On top of that my family and the delivery boy from a local store were harassed by the owner because we order beer since the ones in the room were not of our liking. I will never return to this place!!!

Opted to stay at Neptuno’s Refugio after striking out on a few other hotels around the island. Had looked at the reviews briefly and decided that as a last minute choice this would fit the bill.||||Overall, the hotel is very quaint. Not exactly super modern but not completely run down. I elected to take the apartment style room. The living room area was nice but wound up using it for my luggage because there was little room in the bedroom. The bathroom was spacious but the shower was a little dated. In the bedroom, the two twin beds joined together was somewhat of an oddity but for me it wasn’t a big deal. The only issue was that the two twin beds put together gave you little to no room to maneuver, henceforth why I opted to put my luggage in the living room. There is a tiny TV in the bedroom, but I don't go on vacation to watch TV. The dining area had seating and a functional fridge. I didn't use the silverware or the appliances in the kitchen area but for those traveling with family, it's a great option. The balcony space was really nice. I didn’t go to the pool area but had a great view of the small pool from my balcony. ||||Tried the breakfast one day and it was quite decent. But then again, I’m Dominican and mangu w/ salami, fried cheese and egg is an easy meal and even easier to make. The hotel goes well with the area. It’s within walking distance to the beach, restaurants and the main shopping area. The area it’s in, Boca Chica, is not exactly where I’d recommend for families but you do get a good number of families there.||||There is free parking and there’s a guard in the evenings. Check-in and check-out was fast and efficient and the staff, the small number we encountered, were quite friendly. I would definitely stay there again.
