Can't talk about service as they don't seem to be interested in providing so. This review is purely based on their inefficiency in connecting to their guests. Have been trying to get in touch with this hotel for two straight days. I have called four times during regular business hours. Not once — not ONCE — has anyone picked up the phone. No one. No receptionist, no manager, no call-back, no message, nothing. It's like they’ve vanished. This is not a minor inconvenience. This is basic customer service that the hotel has completely failed at. DO NOT PROVIDE NUMBERS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO ANSWER CALLS. What kind of hotel just ignores its customers like this? Are you even operational? Is there no staff on duty? Or do you just not care at all about guests until it’s time to take your money? I genuinely wanted to know about your rates and then pre book if satisfied (reason being your hotel is close to CST and market). This complete radio silence raises serious red flags about how this hotel is run. If this is the level of attention you give before a booking, can't imagine the level of chaos if I actually had a problem during my stay. Not recommending this hotel to anyone. There are dozens of other hotels in Mumbai that understand the basics of hospitality — and that includes actually answering the phone. This isn’t hospitality that is provided here. It’s neglect.

One of the best budget hotel near CST in front of Haj House. Rooms are small but maintained neat and clean. Washrooms are very small but all amenities are provided. 24 by 7 hot water is available. Restaurant is available hence We can order food as required. Quality of food is very good. Service is very fast. As it is centrally located it is very convenient to all those coming for work in the fort areas.

Rooms except for the balcony ones are bad. Even the balcony ones are not maintained. Especially washrooms are quite below the standard. A lot of boarders choose this one for the location. But the management hardly reinvests anything in maintenance and hence the poor condition of the hotel. The behavior at the reception is very poor and adamant. All in all, a poor hotel.

Hotel New Bengal is situated right next to Crawford market and within walkable distance from CSMT station. It is this prime locational advantage that the management thinks shall overcome all the unprofessionalism and utter disregard for customers comfort/safety/commitment towards customer delight. Rooms - the less said the better. Old and ailing with unclean washrooms. Rooms are full of spiders web, fungal growth, etc. Bedsheets are unclean and towels outright dirty. Washrooms are stinking with water leakage everywhere threatening to flood the room. Air conditioner cooling is insufficient even at 30 degrees Celsius with water dripping out of the indoor unit to your room. Ignorance towards customers is to such an extent that they don't even provide clean drinking water in the rooms. The state of glasses provided will make you reluctant to use them. The building is old and can collapse anytime. I wonder how BMC still has not declared it unsafe. The in-house restaurant is overpriced. Request for anything whatsoever falls on deaf ears no matter how many reminders you give. An odour akin to a poultry farm is omnipresent in the property right from the reception to the elevator to the corridors to the rooms. For the price that they command for their rooms, you can get better options. ||N.B. There are two parts of the same property with a common reception - Hotel New Bengal and Hotel Crawford Inn. |Hotel Crawford Inn has refurbished rooms but at a steeper price northwards of 4.5k/night for direct booking as quoted to me. This review is for Hotel New Bengal where I stayed and not Hotel Crawford Inn.

I would not recommend this hotel. Health hazard with corridors and rooms like out of a horror movie. Pictures on booking and Google are edited and not what you get! The hotel is run down, dark and very smelly like damp and mould. Corridors are dirty with open walls, wires and metal exposed. The rooms are small with no outside windows for fresh air, the bedding stank like a dirty motor, the pillows were brown and mouldy. The room has had no maintenance, brown walls, stained with paint peeling off. Bathroom has no ventilation, mouldy and very bad smell. I actually felt uncomfortable and dirty here. For me everything was NOT hygienic at all, you will not be comfortable. Staff were nice, no issues there, restaurant next door was great and within walking distance to attractions.

Worst stay ever. Beware, staff are thieves in this hotel! The people next to us had 400 euros stolen from their room by staff member who came in with key. Reception Staff did not care at all! The staff is rude, it took half an hour to check in after a long wait and during checking us in they were talking to other people all the time letting us wait longer. The room and hallway are disgusting, the worst smell ever, like an open sewage. Toilet is leaking and bathroom floor, ceiling and door covered in black slime and fungus. No ventialtion at all in bathroom, no window in room. Towels full with red and brown stains. Booking a taxi only possible with way to high rate, more then double the normal price. The only reason this hotel still exists is the location. Otherwise everyone would and should stay away!

Location wise it's a great location. Anjuna beach is just 1-1.5 km away . Rooms are also kinda okay. We went there in peak season so paid Lil more but it was okay for us with this location having 2 rooms and one washroom. Swimming pool time is till 7 pm. So that could be an issue if you want to use it afterwards. Even if you were told to allow it afterwards they won't . so keep that in mind .

Hotel service staff is very good, Co-operative and fast. Location is in the middle of the market so all the important places are just 5-10 min distance. But the rooms are very bad in condition. I can just say use only if you don't have other options available to spend a night.
