Hotel New Elvezia

rooms feel a little cramped but great for what it is. service is amazing- cleaning included every day of our stay. breakfast was delicious and the views from our room were unbeatable.

We took this hotel rather last minute as nothing else was available. 4 in a room with wonderful view. However, the corners of the beds are sharp and with the two additional beds down, it is crowded. We all finished with bruises from the bed frames and trip over the bed legs a few time. Thus 1 star. We also asked for early arrival that was approved but once there denied. Otherwise ok. Thus 2 stars. Breakfast was OK.

THIS VIEW 😍 I never knew I could visit a place that had snow capped mountains and palm trees at the same time! Our concierge described Ascona as a “sleepy village” and I couldn’t agree more! Such a cute place and our room was wonderful! We loved sitting on our terrace and it was conveniently located near restaurants. We walked around near the lake a bit before leaving in the morning. If you want a lovely spot to stay in Ascona, I highly recommend Hotel Elvezia ☺️

Perfect location, stunning view on the lake! Nice and friendly staff. Cost/benefit ratio all right. We got a free upgrade to a better room - cool ! Room equipment/bed simple but absolutely ok and clean. We liked the old photographs in the stairway. Breakfast ok. Check for the waterlevel indicator of the October 1868 floodwater... in the Restaurant. Restaurant was closed for dinner due to the COVID-restrictions but you can find take away in town (close by).

Stayed there for a week. Front desk was very kind and speaks German very well. The breakfast offers 3 or 4 different kind of breads, croissants, juices, delicious espressi, some cheese, fruits. Everything (baked) fresh. The staff is quick and welcoming. The single rooms are ok but I would have liked a bigger window. Not for the view though but for let in fresh air. Just let it open throughout the day. No AC but thats ok since its still better than getting a runny nose. The ventilator is enough for those two hours I am there awake. The bed was a bit hard for my taste since I like my bed rather soft. You also dont need an alarm since the church nearby will gently wake you at 9 o'clock.
