We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel New Otani. The high point was the variety of restaurants, cafes and bars that were parties hotel complex . The view over Tokyo from the restaurant at the top of the tower was stunning. We enjoyed all the places we ate if drank at but especially loved the Bar Capri. ||The expansive 400 hundred year old gardens gave us a beautiful walk when we arrive early because if our early flight arrival. ||Service throughout our stay was impeccable. ||Our room had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed and I just love those heated toilet seats.||All in all we would highly recommend this hotel.

We were recommended this hotel by a family member living in Tokyo. We enjoyed 4 nights here. It's in a nice area, close to the subway. The gardens are gorgeous. We didn't bother eating there except when we went to Trader Vics happy hour where we had plenty of cocktails and small dishes - all excellent. The room was a good size although the bathroom was a bit compact to say the least.||There are plenty of of decent restaurants, cafes and bars a stroll away.||The outdoor swimming pool was opened specially for Golden Week but with a hefty 5000 yen daily charge - we didn't bother!||Service was very good all round.

Huge hotel with lots of restaurants and shops including a grocery and a family market convenience store. Beautiful and quiet. The garden is a destination on its own and lovely to explore. It's an easy walk to the nearest subway station, and close to the Imperial Palace grounds.

Great traditional hotel. Well maintained. Amenities are all good quality and variety or selection. I was able to have a breakfast from 3 different restaurants. All was great with options of Japanese and Western. Location is great, close from Akasaka-Mistuke station, where you can have find many restaurants, bars and convenient stores. I really enjoyed my stays at Hotel New Otani.

This is very much a business hotel - so be prepared to have many suits walking around and sitting at the lobby/ restaurants. Unfortunately, for me, that kind of took away from the holiday experience. The hotel also felt very commercial and old fashioned - with the many shops on the ground floor and the queues waiting at the reception to check in. The scale of the hotel means they’ve lost the personal touch and staff are too busy processing the endless stream of visitors to really focus on each individual fully. ||They also recommended I join the club membership scheme as that gives me certain discounts. However, I only got confirmation of membership on the day I was leaving even though I signed up during check in 3 days ago. And none of the said discounts were reflected in the final price - all a bit confusing and waste of time. ||The pros were:|- the room: I stayed at a shin-edo room, which was spacious and had lovely views towards the city and garden.|- the close proximity to the metro. Akasaka-mitsui station is only a couple of minutes away (note that you need to exit from the mall side rather than the front of the hotel. It took me a day to figure this out as Google maps tend to show Yotsuya station as being the closest).

The hotel is spread across different towers. Quite a huge property I'd say. I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel recently and I must say it's a delightful experience. The hotel has four options for breakfast and each of them is nice. Rooms are spacious but also quite dated, the hotel also has garden which is nicely maintained. I had a room at 36th floor and the view from my hotel was great! This is closely located to Akasaka-Mitsuke station and it is one of the stops of Airport limousine bus from airport

This is a very old fashion hotel, with dreary decor, uncooperative staff with limited English language skills. It is a property in desperate need of a makeover. I stayed in a deluxe room and the major advantage was the size of the room, which was almost like a suite. The decor however was old and depressing. The bathroom is large, but does not have an obvious amenity like a shower cap, the coffee available in the room is awful and very awkward to use. The rates were good, at around US $300 a night. The best experience I had was with the efficient laundry service. How sad that laundry services is the only feature that I would rank high at the New Otani Garden Tower.

For the price we pay at this hotel, I am certain we can get the same level for room quality minus the brand name for a lesser price. I want to share with potential customers: do not be fooled by their advertisements about their breakfast. I find it utterly disappointing. The quality of food served is way way below expectations. The buffet food was cold and variety a real down. Perhaps it really depends on the restaurant they let you have your breakfast. So DO BE VERY CAREFULLY when selecting this hotel. You are just buying in for the name. My recommendation: there are tons of other hotels giving you the same room quality for a lesser cost.
