Absolutely fantastic hotel that truly cares about its guests and goes above and beyond.
Our room was extremely comfortable with a great bed, spotless bathroom and walk-in shower, and the location was perfect. Breakfast far exceeded expectations — although listed as a continental breakfast, it was actually a full self-service buffet with a huge variety of hot and cold options, plus plenty of tea, coffee, and juice. Even at busy times there was always lots of food and it never felt overcrowded.
What really made our stay exceptional was the staff. Every single person we met was warm, caring and genuinely committed to making our visit special.
We had a small issue at check-in, but Leonor handled it immediately, professionally, and kindly, upgrading our room and offering a welcome drink. The next day we received a thoughtful email from Mariana, the Front Office Manager, checking that everything was perfect and sharing her personal contact details. Later we met her for a coffee at the bar, and again she made us feel so valued.
When we returned to our room, we found a complimentary bottle of Port and delicious Pastéis de Nata — such a lovely surprise.
Sadly, we came down with terrible food poisoning (definitely not from the hotel — we’re certain it was from oysters elsewhere). This meant we couldn’t leave our room on our final day, but Mariana and João were incredibly understanding and allowed us to stay until 5pm at no extra cost. Their kindness made a huge difference.
We loved Porto and will absolutely return — and without question we’ll stay at NEYA Porto again.
