We were pleasantly surprised on arrival at how lovely the Nh Collection Grand Sablon was when we checked in on a recent trip to Brussels. We were allocated our lovely suite overlooking the square almost on arrival which was great. |The Grand Sablon is in an excellent central location in Brussels close to everything you're likely to want to do including getting to the station. The staff were attentive and caring. Breakfast was excellent and a HUGE call out to Fabian who went beyond anything expected with nothing too much trouble for him. We were also very impressed by Carlos Americo the hotel's Guest Services Manager who was very interested in hearing our feedback on the hotels evening turn down service ( or rather lack of it )|This was a BIG disappointment during our stay. We had anticipated much more from the evening house keeping team. Having booked a suite at a considerable cost we had at least expected the room to have the curtains pulled and used cups and plates washed up, with tea bags and bottled water replaced. It would also have been good to have had the bed made up where we'd had an after noon nap. We were informed by reception and housekeeping that we were only entitled to one bottle of water per day between two persons, and that there was no official turn down service even for guests in suites, but it could be provides if requested which we did. |Our expected turn down service just didn't happen, and even after we reported it to the front desk on our second night of our 5 night stay, it actually got worse thereafter.||Come on Nh Hotels why oh why are you being so tight with water and then telling the guest . " if you need any more water than you're one bottle, drink the second bottle in the mini bar and pay for it." Tea bags and coffee pods should also in our opinion be replaced as required ,but this didn't happen either, and we had to literally beg tea bags from the house keeper in our corridor. Why did you spoil such a good stay with such minor details and what appears to be greed ?|Thankfully Carlos made us feel valued and understood, and he showed sympathy and understanding where no one had wanted to listen on reception.|We would love to come back, but things need to change.
