The NH Collection Copenhagen is probably one of the most modern, internationally competitive, comfortable, and well-priced (given the Danish context) hotels in the city. Located in a nicely renovated tower in the Christianshavn area, it’s easily accessible by car, metro, or bus from the airport and provides convenient access to key parts of the city such as Kongens Nytorv.
I stayed in a superior corner room, which was spacious and luxurious with plenty of natural light and several large windows offering views of Christians Kirke nearby. The furnishings were a bit unusual — the absence of a proper writing desk or sofa made the layout feel slightly incomplete, and the chairs were a bit awkward — but the bed was perfectly comfortable. The air conditioning wasn’t very strong at first, though after contacting staff it improved slightly, even if not ideal.
The bathroom was clean and nicely finished but felt too small relative to the size of the room. Water pressure was somewhat low, and the shower design allowed water to spill onto the floor. The sink was stylish but not very practical or clean, with limited counter space and occasional drainage issues, which staff did eventually fix.
The hotel’s booking app and website could definitely be more reliable — online check-in didn’t work properly, and despite selecting higher floors, only a lower-level room with a king bed was available. It wasn’t a problem, though, as being on a lower floor helped with cooling. Still, for a brand of this caliber, smoother digital experiences would help.
Staff were generally pleasant and efficient, though some interactions felt a bit robotic, and one or two were less accommodating when requesting services. After raising this politely, service improved somewhat. Overall, while the Nordic service culture tends to be more reserved, the staff were helpful and professional.
I didn’t use the hotel’s restaurants, but they looked inviting. Small touches, like the plant in the room, were appreciated, and the overall design has a stylish, international appeal — even if a few practical aspects could be better thought out.
Overall, I’d consider NH Collection Copenhagen a luxurious four-star hotel — arguably the best available in the city. While Copenhagen’s true five-star offerings are limited and often much more expensive without offering massively better quality, this hotel strikes a smart balance of comfort, design, and value and I'd most likely choose it again next time.
