Hotel NH Collection Madrid Abascal

I had a wonderful stay at NH Collection Madrid Abascal! The hotel perfectly combines classic elegance with modern comfort. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and equipped with everything I needed — from a Nespresso machine to a super comfortable bed. The staff were incredibly welcoming and professional, always ready to help with a smile. I especially loved the outdoor terrace — a peaceful spot to enjoy a drink after exploring Madrid. The location is excellent, close to great restaurants, shops, and the city center. Highly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure trips!

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a really good experience. The place is very clean and welcoming. I travel a lot for work and I often see big hotel chains cutting services more and more, but here I found everything I needed. Even the small amenities in the room made a difference, very practical when you’re on the move. The staff was also incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. I would definitely choose this hotel again.

First, thank you to the staff that made our stay great. Javier, thank you for delivering my wife's birthday amenity. The breakfast in the mornings was amazing, Rebeca,Cristina and Azucena, thank you for your hard work and courtesy. We checked in 9-22 into room 424 and our room was immaculate, didn't get the housekeepers name but please tell her thank you. Paula Fernandez thank you for your help and quick email responses. There are 2 metro station close to this hotel, the breakfast is amazing, check-in was fast and we were checked in early. There are a bunch of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. The room was quite and we slept great. If you're looking and not sure where to say, just book your room now, you won't regret it!!

A great hotel , clean , well organised and with an excellent breakfast. The staff is always very helpful and I particularly enjoyed the welcome from Pedro Villacanas during my last stay. He made sure all my questions were answered and anticipated my needs. That’s proper hotel management . Sadly something which is getting lost in many Madrid properties.

This hotel is clean, safe with a comfortable bed and great shower. It met all my needs. I liked the option of breakfast if I wanted downstairs, and I also ordered very reasonably priced coffee several times which was lovely to have coffee in bed. But what really made my stay here was the kind and welcoming staff. I am a traveling solo and they really helped me feel safe and welcomed and were so helpful and efficient. All the ladies at the front desk were so helpful and warm, and I especially appreciate the kindness of Lisette from the front desk who always went out of her way to welcome me with a cheerful smile and even help me with my Spanish. Thank you NH Abascal for your warm welcome to my first time in Madrid and such a pleasant stay!

Everything about my stay was excellent! The room was so nice, the location was great, and the atmosphere was really welcoming. Big shoutout to the staff who truly make this hotel so special - everyone was so kind and helpful. Huge thanks to Anita and Lorena for going above and beyond and always being so friendly 😊😊

Had a fantastic six nights stay here on business in September. The rooms are excellent, get cleaned every day and the beds are very comfortable. There is everything that you need in the room, TV, high quality bathroom fixtures, and Alexa tablet that you can use to find out information about the hotel and a good flat screen TV. My only concern was that I had a wire that was rattling against the wall behind the TV caused by the air con fan vibration which kept me up for the first two nights but it wasn't too bad once I got used to it and I don't think this is something that every room will have I was just unlucky but it didn't disturb my quality of sleep. The restaurant and bar are fantastic. Special shoutout to Bogdan who works in the restaurant and bar. Great hotel, fantastic location, high quality all around and I will definitely be returning if ever I come back to Madrid

This hotel worked perfectly for my two day stopover in Madrid to break up a 16 hour flight. Fairly close to the airport and an easy Metro ride to the airport and many central locations. It was VERY quiet since it’s away from the city center, but still in a neighborhood with cafes and such. Lovely building and very clean. Room was typical European size and had everything I needed. I would absolutely stay here again. Great value and wonderful experience!

Our first trip to Madrid. They made us feel very welcomed, nice and refreshing infused water, we arrived early and was able to leave our bags as we went to walk around to get a feel of the area, very close to metro. Pro tip, take the subway as there fraction of the cost of cabs, and they arrive every 5 minutes, 11 Euros get you 10 rides this includes transfers, excellent value, now back to the hotel. Room was clean, water on the table. The continental breakfast was outstanding, creamy eggs, delicious juices, mini croissants, and coffee brought to you. At check out we had to get to the train station, and they have a person to flag you a cab. Great experience.

stafff was nice and tried. English is not so great. Our room leaked water from the AC until in the ceiling and we had to move to go a smaller room. There was a broken safe that could not be fixed. Breakfast was nice but lacked staff and service. not compensated for the inconvenience

Stayed 3 night at this hotel during the last part of a 2 week vacation in Spain. The hotel was booked for me by my Costco Travel agency and I wish I had done more research on its location and available amenities. It's about a 30 min walk from the main tourist areas. Had no bar or restaurant available for lunch or dinner. Limited menu available for room service. Staff was helpful though with making recommendations for dining near by as well as taxi and Covid testing in preparation to travel back to the USA. They provided free breakfast which was enjoyable. Rooms were descent size and clean but a bit stuffy/warm.

My review is actually for the Restaurant Domo located in the Hotel NH Collection Abascal. I stayed at this magnificent hotel and decided to try dinner on a Friday night. It is important to note, at the time I stayed, they are only offering their signature BOX for dinner on the weekend. (You can order other dishes in your room from the room service menu). So what is the BOX? It is a white designer box with compartments housing different tapas. You can get the 13 or 18 tapas, with servings for two people. Although the menu is preset, the waiter willingly substituted some choices for me when he learned I did not eat pork. Out wait staff was extremely pleasant and attentive and took the time to explain what each tapas was before we tried them. The tapas included Chorizo Baguette Sandwich; Octopus, Baby Squid, and Prawns; Croquetas; Anchovy, Tomato, Cheese; Caramelized Foie; Aoili Patatas; Goat's Cheese with coconut curry; Tuna Ventresca and a few others, including dessert. The Tuna Venturesca came in a can, but surprisingly it was one of my favorites! It was grilled tuna on top of a layer of potato salad. Very flavorful. The Caramelized Foie was also done well. The only thing I did not try were the anchovies. Although I was skeptical at first about the BOX being the only choice for dinner, it was presented well and a very good sampling of Spanish tapas. Definitely worth a try. They also do a BOX option for brunch on the weekends as well. The drinks were also delicious, and with a full bar they could make anything you would want.

Beautiful hotel and well located. After ten days in a small apartment in Seville, this was a change we really needed. The rooms are well lit, large and comfortable king bed, and plenty of hot water. Modern furnishings, plus the windows opened. Something you don't see in US anymore. Good services, especially our concierge Beatriz. Location is convenient to everything you need by foot in a safe and busy part of town. 30€ fixed price cab to international airport. Takes about 30 minutes or less.

Staff seem cold and not very welcoming. They didn't give us a city map or recommend any site seeing or restaurants in the area like the reception we received in Barcelona and throughout Italy. They also didn't inform us where we can find breakfast and what times it's available. I kept getting inconsistent customer service during my stay which was frustrating. For example the doorman said he would get us an outlet adaptor 2x and it never came. The front staff would tell me they did not have an outlet adapter then when I would call back in 5 min. they would suddenly have one. Pros: location, comfortable rooms, nice breakfast spread, near transport (subway, taxi, etc.) Cons: Staff. Which to me is extremely important because you want to feel comfortable and taken care of on vacation. And to have staff that is lazy and/or poorly trained and don't take pride in customer service really can ruin ones stay.

I would not recommend the hotel. It's tiny- the staff is extremely slow and not efficient at all. You open the door to the room and it almost hits the bed, giving you just 2 inches of space between the door and the bed- literally. The room is tiny and you feel cramped. People don't seem happy to be there and not very helpful. If you want something close to the hip areas and you don't care about the size of the room - then this may be for you. There is a great bar/club nearby that all the famous soccer players go to - there are tons off bars, restaurants and clubs within walking distance and the area is safe.

This hotel was centrally located in the business district. The rooms are a little small, but very quaint. The personnel are friendly. Francisco I believe is the concierge.He was extremely helpful and informative to our group. He greeted us every morning and gave us a lot of good information on the city.

Another fine experience at an NH Hotel and this time in Madrid. I was really lucky here as I often "play" Priceline's "name your own price" roulette to find hotel in my various destinations. This one turned out to be less than 10 minutes walk from the location I was doing business with! It was my first time in Madrid so I used to web to make some enquiries. The hotel is near a subway station and the airport has fast subway service. Therefore I decided to skip a car rental and do it all by subway and by foot and it was a great decision. The hotel building is spectacular. It is located in a former embassy building that has been nicely renovated. Rooms are clean and nice and the staff is very nice. The area have plenty of restaurant and shop and you can be in "Puerta del Sol" in 10 minutes by subway for an unforgettable night doing "tapas hopping". Don't expect a high end luxury hotel but it is inexpensive and very nice.

Elegant hotel in Chamberi barrio. My suite was very large with a separate living area and terrace directly on JA avenue. Nespresso machine was a plus, mini bar was expensive, no complimentary water. Good breakfast, the hotel is catering mostly to business travelers. Some rooms are small -interior, but all you need is there and the price is heavily discounted. Staff is very friendly, taxis 24/7 in front of hotel. Area is safe, 15mn from the center. Metro 5 mm walk. The noise (-honking) from the jose Abascal can be a bit of an issue during rush hour.

Great hotel, great location, and wonderful customer service. The staff were very attentive and nice. We spent 4 days here and while the rooms were small, that was par for the course for hotels in Madrid. Close to all the nice restaurants in the area as well! I liked that this area was especially quiet and calm- it was not noisy at all. Hope to be back soon.
