The overall atmosphere was really posh, I truly enjoyed it. The breakfast buffet was one of the best ever. I loved the spa, it was very relaxing. The concept with a glass partition wall between the bedroom and the bathroom area dos not appeal to me much, yet it could work if the blinds would close all the way down. All the linen, including towels was perfect, yet I’d rather prefer slippers and robes in the room in advance, without asking.

I went on a business trip and it was ok. It definitely didn't feel like 4*.|Positives: - very large rooms, nice bar area. Nothing horrendous about the experience|Negatives - a lot of decor very dated and tatty. Not enough lifts for large groups of people at conferences. Queues for lifts were around 15 minutes most days.|Food was very average, albeit breakfast was by far the best. |Location - is what it is, but it's a long walk or an uber ride into the nicer parts of the town.|Reception area - there are only steps up to the reception area from the street and no ramp for suitcases so you have to life your luggage up around 10 steps to get to the front door- a side ramp for suitcases to be rolled up and down would greatly improve customer experience.

This should be a great hotel. It’s well located (particularly for football ⚽️ fans, as it’s a short walk from Real Madrid’s home ground). Rooms were spotlessly clean but with a hospital ward vibe - everything gleaming white - it looked like it could be hosed down a couple of times a year. No color, no art 🖼️, no view (except of very annoying padel courts with the constant plop of tennis balls) until late and neighbouring apartments with a grandstand view of my room. Lacking in basic amenities. No bathrobe, no wash cloths, no USB ports. Staff were a mix of friendly and brusque. Bar staff (Bikini bar on ground floor) were outstanding and food was good and served piping hot, as it should be. Breakfast was abundant but ordinary, though Prosecco was there for those facing a long business meeting… The worst thing was the wretchedly slow elevators which sometimes took 10 minutes. One of my colleagues was treated to 20 minutes of solitary confinement in a stuck elevator 🛗 and was not happy. In short, not great - though it could and should be

My review is not necessarily about the rooms and facilities which are more than okay (except for the elevators), but about the check-in experience and the way I was treated during check-in. For anyone who has time to read, you will be amazed by what follows. I arrived at the hotel around noon, presented my ID card at reception, and after a few seconds (maximum 10 seconds), I was told that my room was not ready and that I would have to wait. I left my luggage in the luggage room, went to the bathroom, and while I was in there, someone started banging loudly on the door and shouting in Spanish, "out, out." When I came out, there was no one at the door, so I went towards reception, where I was intercepted by five armed police officers who basically grabbed me and took me to a corner near the reception. Without any explanation, they asked for my ID, phone, and backpack and started searching through my things. They took everything out of my backpack and left with my ID and phone without any explanation, all the while they constantly shouting "don't move, don't move," even though I wasn't moving because I had nowhere to go (I was in a corner surrounded by five police officers). At the same time, no one from the hotel staff seemed interested in finding out what was happening. My suspicion is that the police were called by the reception as they came quite fast after presenting my ID. The police started putting pressure on me and asked for more than10 times, "When did you first check into the hotel and when did you first come to Madrid?" And all of this was in Spanish. No one spoke English; two men apparently from the hotel staff (dressed in suits) came, I asked what was happening, but they completely ignored me. I signaled to the reception staff, asking for someone who spoke English to help me, but I was completely ignored again. This whole ordeal continued for more than 30 minutes, during which the police kept telling me not to move, and the hotel staff just told me to stay "tranquillo." And all of this also in front of colleagues and clients (as I was attending a global conference). I managed to understand from the police officers’ conversations that there was a video of a person who looked like me and who had committed a crime in Spain. I tried to call colleagues who were already checked into the hotel, but I was not allowed to. The pressure continued for me to "admit" that I had checked in a week earlier, even though I hadn’t even received my room yet. I managed to show them all my documents—plane ticket, Uber receipt from the airport, documents showing the reason I was in Madrid—which somewhat convinced them that I was not the person they were looking for. When they realized their mistake, they simply left without even apologizing. I tried to find out from the reception staff what had happened and why, and I only received a simple "no worries, standard procedure." Instead, they upgraded my room. I felt very stressed during my entire stay, because anyone could have had access to my room (police, staff) and I did not feel safe at all. The hotel handled this situation very poorly and unprofessionally. They offered no support, even though none of the police officers spoke English. I am totally disappointed by this experience and I will for sure never visit this hotel again.

The hotel is very close to the Real Madrid stadium! You can see it from the hotel. It’s truly a 5 minute walk, no need to ride the metro. Our room was super clean! Check in and check out was a breeze. The staff were very friendly. There is a parking lot under the hotel with easy access if needed. Please get the breakfast! It’s worth it!

Great hotel in a lovely neighbourhood in Madrid. The stadium is a short 5 minute walk and heading into Centro or Salamanca was all very easy using taxis /rideshares.||The rooms are well appointed and spacious with great showers and bathroom amenities||Breakfast offering was generous with lots of different stations to choose from. ||Staff throughout were very friendly. Would definitely recommend. Made the stay very easy and pleasant

One of the best business hotels I’ve stayed in. The breakfast is plentiful and varied, and the rooms are very clean and well maintained. The staff is generally helpful, although with a bit more warmth and attention the welcome could be even better. Overall, for this type of hotel I definitely recommend it.

Nice rooms however some items in the bathroom did not work, simple things like the plug for the sink didn’t stop any water, the main shower didn’t work having to revert to a side shower! These faults were reported and no update on repairs or offer of a room change was made! Some staff very helpful with others seeming so however proving to pretty much do nothing based on the info.

The location is really good, there's places to eat walking distance as well as small grocery stores for your every need. The bus stop is also walking distance, making it super convenient to take the public trans. This hotel is really really nice, they just remodeled the lobby and it looks so modern, clean and classy. The staff is really nice and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and modern, they have a white esthetic, making it look super chic. They do seem to clean the rooms very well. The counter space is perfect for someone that has a lot of things to put on the bathroom, so for the makeup aficionado or the skin care queen, there is plenty of space for all our stuff, including a magnifying mirror! The bed is comfy, and there's plenty of pillows too! There is a long desk with power outlets, perfect for your laptop/ game consoles. The room is a little pricey but for the quality of the place, it's totally worth it. I really enjoyed staying here, it's a comfortable time for sure!

This hotel bills itself as a high end hotel. Downstairs and conference areas are great but rooms terrible. Photo is of the rain shower head in the room which was disgusting. There was a non stop banging in the pipes that drove me crazy all night long. Doors are heavy and every single person let them slam as they came and went. Terrible week stay.

I came here for a conference several years ago and really liked this hotel, but it has definitely gone downhill since then. While the hotel looks modern and beautiful, it is not functional at all. I stayed here for a week and had a good feel for both the rooms and the conference center. Rooms: There were so many things that did not work properly. First, my window would not close (1 star off), and I had to get maintenance to fix it. Then my phone did not work (1 star off). When I told the receptionist that, she told me many phones in the hotel did not work. She did have maintenance come a second time and fixed the phone jack. Then when I was showering for the first time, after I had shampoo all over my hair and eyes, I felt a puddle of water at my ankles. It turned out that the drain was clogged and water was spilling out to the rest of the bathroom (1 star off). I called the receptionist (because I *can* now after the phone was fixed!), and had maintenance come a third time. As if that was not enough, I then noticed the sink leaked (1 star off). I did not want to call maintenance a fourth time, so I gave up. I heard from other colleagues staying at the hotel that their rooms had similar issues. What a nightmare for our entire group. Conference center: Water was dripping from the ceiling in multiple parts of the conference room and the staff had to put buckets to catch the water. Not a surprise...considering that drains were clogged and water was spilling and flooding other floors. Let me end on a positive note. The only thing I liked about the hotel was the breakfast buffet. It had a nice variety of international cuisines, including Asian and Mediterranean foods. That was the only thing that I looked forward to at this hotel...and no water was leaking from the ceiling even though the breakfast buffet was located in the basement.

The NH hotel Eurobuilding is in many ways a decent four-star hotel: it has renovated the common areas (not the rooms), it has access to a real gym, four food & beverage outlets on premises (including 3 Michelin star, DiverXO), large breakfast buffet, decent location close to Bernabeu stadium (though not central) etc. HOWEVER, all of this is irrelevant when staying there in the summer with temperatures approaching 40C/100F because the hotel has programmed the AC units in the rooms to automatically switch off when a desired temperature is achieved (21C / 72F is the coldest temperature possible). It will NOT switch on automatically when the temperature in the room rises again and you have to manually switch it on again. On a summer night in Madrid that means that you wake up drenched in sweat 2-3 times per night and you can then switch the AC on again (until it switches off by itself again...) This is simply untenable and it means that whatever redeeming features the hotel might have are inconsequential when you cannot get a good night's rest. I have stayed at several other hotels in Madrid in the past (notably Marriott and Hyatt hotels) and none have this issue - the AC simply maintains the desired temperature.

A very nice and sleek hotel. It always seems very busy and social on its main floors. I did not try any food, but I tried out the gym. The gym was excellent! It offered classes, trainers, and great equipment. The room was very nice! It featured many light sources and great lighting. I love the controls for the lights next to the bed for convenience, too. I liked how the beds were pushed together giving me that larger bed feel. The bathroom and shower was very nice! I loved the water temp and humidity controls. There's lots of storage space, coffee maker, and mini bar. If you use the fridge for other reasons, make sure to put the minis back or you get charged. It was a really cool hotel.

I stayed in many different hotels while we were traveling all over Spain, this is the best. The room was upscale and pretty big, they had all kinds of amenities, and they cleaned our room very good (some hotels didn't give us new cups, forgot to give us towels, they only did the bed making half way, etc). I love their rainforest style shower! The only problem we had was that the ice machine was broken and needed to ask the front desk to bring it.

I travel abroad a lot and when traveling through out Europe NH brand has quickly become a stand out. This hotel is located in a trendy upscale neighborhood with some very nice options for dinning in walking distance. The hotel is a art deco meets modern twist. Very tastefully decorated. The rooms are very spacious and the bathroom is very nice with both deep soaker tub and handheld shower or rain head shower. Plus a steam option. The Spa at this property is very impressive. Probably one of the best hotel Spas I have experienced. The hotel offers a full service restaurant and bar that is open late. A really nice room service menu. Also located just 2 blocks from the metro station.

Poor experience. Unable to check in early without getting the first floor, we asked for higher to avoid noise. After waiting a couple hours we were assigned a room on the 8th, but directly across from the elevator and service corridor. Not quiet. Relocated to a room on 2nd, had to dash for business. In the morning we noted: - a room for two only has one instant coffee (two decaf) - the doors in the loo strike each other - the shower fixture for water temp had no faceplate and was loose - the knob for water was lacking a lever/had an exposed screw to turn it on - the shower wand barely stayed in place because of a broken holder - the ceiling was cracked and moldy around the shower fixture due to leaking from the room above - the security chain isn't just poorly anchored, it is not attached to the doorjamb - the door bolt throws itself when you are trying to leave the room, preventing the door from closing without manually forcing it I started this over coffee yesterday and had a busy schedule so couldn't deal with them. I hope to be able to raise the review if things get sorted. We now know the answer is: no apology, "I'm sorry but the hotel is full, we will have to wait until 3pm to see if anyone checks out". Of course tonight is a formal dinner so this will impact both of us getting ready for it. We packed and are waiting for them to either assign us a room someone else has vacated or I'm booking a last-minute room elsewhere. No one should stay in room 265, and in general expect this bathroom design to lead to badness.

This hotel has all of the amenities but the rooms are not for someone from the US. There is a glass wall between the bedroom area and the bathroom. So if someone gets up early and turns on the lights in the bathroom area you will wake up your partner. Does have blinds but you can still see lights. The area with toilet and shower has glass doors so if you if want to see your partner sitting on the toilet then this place is perfect for you. I hated this place.

this hotel is, by far, one of my favorite hotels in Europe. The lobby is finally done being renovated, and it looks really good. The staff are always so helpful and nice, the bar and new restaurant are extremely good as well. The rooms are very clean and nice, and the bathrooms are to DIE FOR. The HUGE shower and toilet area are such a nice touch--totally not your typical european bathroom. The one thing that makes this hotel a top pick is the amazing breakfast they serve every morning on floor S1. Its a buffet style with everything you could ever want, including unlimited sparkling rose and wine! Its close to the metro and great shopping at Corte Ingles, also just down the street from Real Madrid stadium.

Not recommended. Had booked a trip to Madrid. Due to unforeseen circumstances I was not able to make it. Hotel wouldn't issue a refund, or even work with me as I still wanted to make the trip in the future. They just wanted to keep the money. I would think businesses would be more interested in a customer's lifetime value, and not easy money.

They gave me a room that was known to not have working wifi and after 45 minutes on the phone with front desk and tech support, I was told it's unfixable. Finally they gave me a new room. When I called the next day to ask what time my flight crew was being picked up for the airport the next morning, the front desk staff told me the pick up time for the JFK crew instead of the ATL crew as I had requested. When you're working a 10 hr flight back to the states, an extra 30 minutes of sleep could have helped. Also, there is no ice machine on the 3rd floor and no signs directing you to where ice machines are located, so you may end up pacing your floor back and forth not time before having to call the lobby to ask where the ice machines are. But when you go to the second floor for ice, there is no up button for the elevator, so you will be beckoned back down to the lobby before being able to go back to your room, which is fine except when you're dressed in pajamas bc you were expecting just a quick dash to the ice machine before heading to bed. Lastly, the front entrance of the hotel has only stairs, which is inconvenient for anyone with suitcases, which is pretty much everyone checking into the hotel. Breakfast buffet is good, and the staff is very polite, but I'm pretty peeved about being told the wrong pick up time. Rants from a jet lagged flight attendant.
