Turin, Italy, Travel Guide

"Set around a peaceful courtyard in the heart of the city, this four-star stay marries a building with 17th-century roots to modern decor; I appreciate the restaurant’s local specialties like vitello tonnato and pasta, and the ground-floor bar makes a convenient nightcap stop." - Laura Itzkowitz Laura Itzkowitz Laura Itzkowitz is a writer and editor based in Rome. NH Collection Torino Piazza Carlina (Turin, Piedmont) 22 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Plenty of Italian hotels are located in historic convents, wineries, and farmhouses: here in Turin, the NH Collection Torino Piazza Carlina is located in a historic landmark, too — originally a Regio Albergo di Virtu, or Hotel of Virtue, an institution where impoverished youth were trained to work. The place has been entirely refurbished, of course, with amenities to match. All guest rooms and suites come with a range of luxuries that the Italian teenagers of yesteryear couldn’t have possibly imagined: private balconies, pillow menus, coffee machines, free wi-fi, sleek modern bathrooms with custom-made bath products." - Tablet Hotels

Very good hotel in Turin city center. Hotel is in a central location with walking distance to museums. The building is maintained well. The area felt secure. Many restaurants nearby. The room condition can be improved further (not all electrical sockets were working). Bathroom facilities are good. However there were no bathrobes. The breakfast was very good. Had a wide range of food and drinks, and was tasty. The car park was not available - Seems to have only small number of spaces and only for small cars. Parked at Autoplana Autorimessa 5 minute walk from the hotel. Very secure garage and can accomodate even large SUVs.

A perfect stay, in a gorgeous building, great location easy to walk everywhere. Very welcoming, good service at Reception. I was given the room I asked for/booked - corner room, light & bright, great view (Alps in the distance) with balcony. Room was very well appointed, comfortable with everything you'd expect. Large bathroom, very comfortable bed. Bottle water each day, Lavazza machine.||Bar was nice with lovely staff too. At aperitif time they give you some lovely little snacks. Breakfast has a good spread too.||Its a very welcoming hotel, would definitely stay again.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Turin. Quick check-in. The bedroom was large, comfortable bed, clean shower room. Breakfast was superb, with options to each inside or in the courtyard (weather depending). Plenty of options, hot and cold, with food made to order on request. Breakfast staff were particularly friendly and helpful. The hotel was a short 10 minute walk from the centre of town (palace), and within easy walking distance to other squares, restaurants and sights. |For those interested, there is a gym on site - however, ask for directions, it's not well signposted! |Note for improvement - It was an anniversary surprise trip, but the hotel didn't make any reference to this (no note, bottle of wine or pastries in the room on check-in which other hotels would usually offer as a token) - for an upmarket hotel, you expect the small touches.|Would absolutely recommend to anyone as a central point for exploring the city.

Worth every penny for our three-night stay. The staff were superb, our room was lovely, the breakfasts were amazing, the location was perfect for exploring Central Turin and we'd come back without hesitation. Special thanks to Matteo, Paolo and the restaurant team on the morning of our departure! 😉 Recommended!

Google
Incredible stay at this exceptional hotel. We can’t say enough good things about the room, service, location and wonderful breakfast. The bed was very comfortable and the view from our room was spectacular. It’s genuinely one of the best stays we’ve had at an hotel. We will definitely be coming back. As well Torino was a great city and exceeded our expectations as did the hotel. Grazie a tutti all’albergo!! See you next time.

Google
I thoroughly recommend this hotel. I travel to Turin twice a year and always book ahead so that I can secure a room in this lovely hotel. The building itself is a former palace but modernised very tastefully. The location is perfect- central and in a delightful square. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and I find it almost like going "home" every time I come here.

Google
Stayed at this hotel for 9 nights as we were visiting family and exploring central Turin. The location of the hotel for the latter was excellent as everything was in easy walking distance such as The Egyptian Museum, the Museum of Cinema and the main shopping streets including Via Roma, Via LaGrange and Via Po. Also, the hotel was very comfortable and clean and the staff were friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English. The breakfast buffet was plentiful with a lot of choice. You pay a bit more for this hotel but it is worth it.

Hotel bar is great too, good food, great cocktails. Breakfast delicious, honestly one of the nicest stays I’ve ever had in a hotel!

Yelp
This is my choice hotel for my frequent business trips to Torino. Quaint, quiet and clean. Easy walking distance to restaurants and pubs. I recommend a courtyard facing room for extra peace and quiet. The hotel has a small, comfortable bar and the breakfast is speedy and reliable.
