On the Grid : Hotel Nizza

"A real gem and loved by artists, journalists and designers for it's rooftop terrace with a great view of the frankfurt skyline and tasteful accomodation. The interior is stylish and tasteful, as is the breakfast buffet that includes various fresh homemade spreads and delicacies!" - Dreimorgen

Perfect base to travel around the south of France, great location 2 mins walk from the beach. On a street with restaurants down a few mins walk away. Stayed for 4 nights through jet2. B&B, breakfast was not that great. Only a couple of options but would say to go out for breakfast as not great at this hotel. Rooms clean, spacious however walls are a little thin. Every single morning we was woken by what sounded like a man coughing/being sick….. Unsure what it was exactly but we heard it!! Also the street noise can be a bit loud too. Train station 15 mins walk we did this x2 and wasn’t a bad walk. The beau rivage beach club was also great we had a few drinks there in the sun. Nice hotel would return.

The hotel has a great location, one of the best in Nice. However, apart from that, we felt that some aspects could be improved. The rooms are quite small, and there was no coffee machine provided. It was a bit surprising to find only instant Nescafé in a hotel with such a long-standing reputation. Also, bottled water in the room was quite expensive, it’s just a water not a champagne. Overall, for the price, we expected a slightly higher level of comfort and service.

Spent a little over a week here. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room itself was nice, though we had some small issues like the AC dripping through the ceiling and the shower overflowing with the drain catches. The rooms we're pretty quiet for the most part, never heard anyone in other rooms which was nice but some ambient noise from a nearby music festival could be heard. Overall a pretty good hotel for the value!

Seck at the front desk was fantastic — friendly, helpful, and went out of his way to recommend and book a great local restaurant for us. The rest of the staff were equally welcoming, and the breakfast was very enjoyable. The location was the main highlight of this hotel, making it a convenient base for exploring the area.||Unfortunately, the shower in our room, while functional, was in need of a serious upgrade. It made showering more of a chore than a comfort.

We spent 3 days here during our 22 day tour through Europe. Rooms are very well appointed and clean. All the plugs you will need for your devices. Rial is I’m guessing the bell captain and was friendly and professional as was the manager Benjamin, he gave us a spot on suggestion for dinner that was fabulous. The breakfast crew was outstanding especially Melissa, Natasha, and Naelle!!| The area was everything we hoped it would be and we will be back!!

We were so excited and looking forward so much to staying at this hotel for our very special occasion, our 10th wedding anniversary. We checked in late last night (11pm) due to flight delay, and we're told that we have 2 single beds! It's too late to change, but they would change today. I've just been to the room, and still 2 single beds have been made up despite the receptionist apparently sending a message to room service. ||There was no food service at that time in the hotel, and all local restaurants had stopped serving food! ||The hotel smells of sewerage in most places! Just been to the bar for a drink at lunchtime to be told the bar is closing, but we can move to the lobby with our drinks. The lobby is very pongy! |I feel like crying, worse decision for our anniversary. |First day of 7! |Cost £3k so can't afford to go to a different hotel! |I'm so sad and very disappointed. I said that we wanted a double bed as it was our anniversary, and they didn't even wish us a Happy Anniversary!! No big deal, just would have been polite! |We will not be returning and will not recommend this hotel, In fact, the opposite. |

Perfect location. The front desk attendant truly came to my aid with such kindness in a dire situation. I can’t thank him enough. Great location and spacious rooms. Wish I could have stayed longer. Book the beach package as it’s perfect if you plan to enjoy the crisp waters. Breakfast also had a variety of options. Overall, would recommend and absolutely would stay again! ** Parking nearby is a breeze (Interparking). ***Felt incredibly safe as a female solo traveler (woman of color).

Google
We selected this hotel due to the closeness in proximity to the beach, the views as well as the 4 star rating. I will say that we were impressed with the lobby, staff and breakfast selection. I give the room a 3/5- for a 4 star hotel I would have expected a nicer room. The room we stayed in had poor lighting, the shower was difficult to get in and out of - I can’t imagine an elderly person being able to move well. It was clean but there were cracks and dings all over the room. The room felt forgotten about when they decided to upgrade everything else.

Yelp
Tag ausgetauscht.

Yelp
Great hotel. Clean, fairly spacious for a hotel room in a prime location in France. Walking distance to shops and the coast. Great service. Somewhat updated in the room but it did great. During peak hours we found trouble getting ourselves a parking spot as quickly as we normally would, since the hotel doesn't have its own parking garage. Regardless, I'd recommend this hotel to any visitor and I'd consider staying here again.

Yelp
My fiance and I really enjoyed our time at the Beau Rivage. We were fortunate enough to get one of the more updated rooms but other family members had outdated rooms compared to ours. So be sure to request an updated room! The staff here are friendly and accommodating. They are quick to help if you need anything. The rooms are perfect for 2 people. I'm not sure if they have any bigger rooms but 3 adults would be a squeeze if you have to put a cot in the room. The location is prime!! We are close to the beach, a bunch of restaurants and shops. Every night we walked along promenade des anglais for dinner / drinks. Given its location some nights were noisy due to the local restaurants and you can hear the music until 12-1am. This hotel is also a 20 minute walk to the train station if you wish to visit Antibes / Cannes. There are also multiple car rental companies within a 3-5 minute walk if you prefer renting a car. We purchased breakfast for our stay and they served until 10:30am. Plenty of options to choose from at the buffet but it was the same items every day. Dispite other reviews, we had a very pleasant stay given the price!

Yelp
This hotel is in the perfect location, has a very kind and helpful staff, & a nice breakfast, as well as it's own beach club. It is not the fanciest, and I sure wish the AC was stronger, but they were kind enough to give us a fan to supplement it. Many hotels here do not have AC at all, so please don't take that as a complaint.

Yelp
This is worst hotel I've ever stayed at ever. Rooms aren't bad, but the whole place smells & the staff are excruciating, even by French standards.

Yelp
This hotel is at a perfect location while you're in Nice. It is directly across from the beach and they also have their own restaurant and private beach access. The hotel staff were courteous and very friendly and helpful. We got an instant upgrade! Our room is beautiful with their brown wood shutters and the only complaint is the bathroom which is a bit smaller and the shower protector doesn't work very well because water always escapes and drowns the floor. The beds are very big I believe it is a king size. The room is very spacious with lots of drawer space too. There is a safe in the room also which is a plus. Their breakfast is amazing! We finally get to have some bacon, sausages and eggs! An American style breakfast! They also have a lot of pastries and fresh fruits, juices, water, coffee, and cold meats if you prefer. It's so nice to walk in and out of our hotel and be right at Old Town Nice. Wonderful hotel!

Yelp
Considering the price, it's OK as other hotels were more expensive. Good location as it's right next to Marche Aux Flouri (a.k.a farmer's market). It uses the parking lot in the Marche (20 euro per night) and you can go in and out. The room was ordinary.. and a bit outdated but it was spacious. Water pressure was a bit weak. Breakfast is 20 euro but I would not recommend it as it doesn't even have pancake or other eggs except for boiled egg and scrambled egg... You can get nice coffee with crepe/croissant and cheese etc for around 10 euro at most restaurants nearby. Friendly staff. Free wifi.

Yelp
Great place for lunch, good service and food, the children's menu is exceptional.

Yelp
I'm going to start by the worst and last that happened. I ordered a taxi the night before our departure, they got us "private van" and the trip was 35 EUROS to the Airport! OUTRAGEOUS for a less than 7km/4.5 miles trip. You'd think someone in the Front desk could tell you about the price, right? This hotel is clearly understaffed in the Front desk, 90% of the time there was only one person here and that was never enough for a number of guests so high like this hotel. One Front desk agent told us we couldn't get coffee before 7am (that's when the breakfast buffet opens), HELLO, HOW ABOUT ROOM SERVICE??? Jeez. Our room faced the front street of the hotel (not the water) and the strange windows didn't close all the way, so the room was never dark. We had such a lovely time in Nice, too bad this hotel was just the opposite. The breakfast is very expensive.

Yelp
While i've been writing reviews, it was hard to remember any other review after this one! This hotel is in an AMAZING location and is completely gorgeous. The staff are friendly and the rooms are beautiful. When you step outside the hotel door, you just have to walk left, cross the street and you're at the beach. I love the pebbled stone theme that they have throughout the hotel. Once you head to the waters, you'll see the same stones that are very indicative of the beach in NIce. The hotel is nested within a quieter street, and surrounded by great restaurants, public transportation and the down town area's central courtyard. We went during the holidays, so there was xmas lights and festivities going on. Amazing coffee and bakeries all around and just 400m away from a boulevard of shopping. I hope to go back soon and couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. When in Nice make sure you eat at L'Ovale!!! http://www.yelp.com/biz/l-ovale-nice#hrid:PaWLsFeI5rcvbNNbInzFpw

Yelp
ONE STAR only for their WiFi connection - sloooowww and disconnects frequently! The location, however, is 5 stars!!!

Yelp
We had semi-high expectations for this hotel after seeing all the high (5 star) reviews on here, but ended up being fairly let down...there was no DND sign for our room door, so the maid walked in on us once and we were unable to avoid our daily cleaning service as we usually do at other hotels. Also our room felt and smelled of mildew the entire time, which made our clothes and the sheets feel damp. The staff was overall very nice and it was a very good location, but the hotel itself was below par so I have to give it 2 stars...if we could do it over again, we would pay more for better quality.

Yelp
Perfect location, close to the water, it's not a grand hotel most of the rooms are compact. Modern nautical design. They pump in this sandalwood vanilla scent in the lobby. I think it was developed by Creed, always think of Nice when I smell sandalwood now. We had the larger suite seen in photos 4,8,10 &11 (on hotel website) that has a private terrace. Amazing way to end a vacation.

Yelp
My husband and I took a roadtrip through France and stayed at the Hotel Beau Rivage during our time in Nice. It was a splurge for us as far as how much we were willing to spend on our rooms, but since this was the beach part of our vacation we wanted to stay at a nicer place. Our room was one of the suites with a partial Ocean view (we faced a building across the street but could see the ocean if we leaned out of our balcony). Very clean, modern decor, nice bathroom, and large with a super comfy bed. We loved every aspect of our room and liked the location of the hotel as well (right on the beach and a block or so away from the flower/antique market). The one downside to our trip was that on the night of our arrival we had some issues with parking (long story short, my husband spent over an hour trying to park the car as we could not get into the lot that the hotel has a deal with due to an issue on their part, parked in a more expensive lot, and was not comped for it like they said they would). This left us rather annoyed because most hotels, especially nicer ones will comp you regardless of the circumstance as good customer service. This hotel essentially said "the person who was working did not write this down to confirm so we cannot do that for you" ie., "we don't think you're telling the truth so too bad." That's the main reason they get 4 stars rather than 5 because otherwise the trip was great. Some things to know before you go: - the bar across the street is not related to the hotel, they just have the same name, so you cannot put drinks and food on your tab at the hotel - if you are really into going to the beach and want to visit the south of France for that, Nice is about 95% pebble beach. It's a great city for a variety of other reasons (like close location to Italy, Monaco, and the downtown), but there may be other cities to stay that have more sand options. This hotel, though, is within walking distance of the one small patch of man-made sand beach that exists in Nice.

Yelp
Excellent service here from the front desk service. Great room size. The location is very convenient (walking distance to the beach and very close to the market square where there are tons of restaurants to eat). The Castle Hill is also walking distance from the hotel. The only not so good part about the hotel is the spotty wifi service. Still highly recommend here.
