Hotel "Niky"

This hotel offers excellent value for money. Rooms are clean and mostly comfortable. The location is excellent. It is very central in Sofia but on a relatively quiet residential street. The major sights are a 20-minute walk, or you can take the metro, a 5-minute walk away. There are lots of good restaurants close by, as well as the pedestrianized Vitosha Blvd. Service is friendly, professional, and very helpful. The breakfast buffet is ample, with lots of appealing options and decent coffee. I wish it had been available before 8:00. My only other small complaints are that my room facing the street tended to be warmer than I like for sleeping, even though it was chilly outside, below 10°C, and I had turned off the heat. I was forced to open the windows, which meant getting street noise. This probably is not an issue in rooms facing away from the street. Also, as is so often the case in Bulgaria, there is not a proper shower stall, and water leaks onto the floor of the bathroom. But on the whole, I was happy with my stay.

Great location and very friendly staff. We were in a lovely room on the 5th floor (503); the bonus was a little balcony where we could look out over the area. The attached Greek restaurant also has good food, if you're tired (as we were our first night) and don't want to search the local area for a place to eat. The Hotel Niky is well located for everything - restaurants, sites, shopping. The 2pm check-in time is a bonus. This hotel is one of the best small hotels we've ever stayed in and I'll definitley stay here again when I come back to Sofia.

Hotel Niky was friendly, very accommodating, and kept to high professional standards. ||It’s location was excellent: in a safe and quiet Neighbourhood , all the while convenient to most of the cities attractions. ||We had the suite and the pull out bed was made for us upon our arrival. We lived having the “kitchen amenities and room service provided us with clean towels everyday, without our asking. ||The breakfast was a healthy and fresh European buffet, and our “breakfast to go” provided a little bit of everything.||Hôtel Niky made our trip to Sofia so much more delightful! We highly recommend staying at Hôtel Niky.

Pleasant staff. Efficient check-in. Decent breakfast included in the reasonable price. My second floor room was small, after having stayed in spacious apartments on my week long road trip, but I was lucky enough to have been given a room with a large private terrace which was surrounded by a bit of greenery, and which partly overlooked the restaurant which was attached to the hotel. There was no intrusive late night noise from the restaurant however, nor from any other source. Which was a relief. In fact, I had the best night's sleep of the week in my one night stay here.

Excellent small hotel in the 'cheap and cheerful' category right in the center - clean, comfortable, friendly staff, and good breakfast. My only reason for the 4 star is that I carelessly left behind my computer charger and adapter in the wall, only to realize a couple hours later that I did so. When I called the hotel to collect them, there was no record of them having been found - I hope the cleaning lady is enjoying them! It was my fault for forgetting them, but I am 100% certain of where I left them, so it's disappointing they disappeared.

Wonderful stay. I stayed four nights. It's a two block walk to the main boulevard with all the shops, restaurants, bars. Check in and out were flawless. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Room was very large with no noise at all. I wanted for nothing. One complaint. Breakfast does not start til 8 o'clock which is inconvenient for those leaving earlier for day trips. Breakfast should start around 7 to 7:30 am in my opinion

Unbeatable price, service, and location. The room was exactly as advertised, and the staff were excellent. Attached restaurant was great and so was the breakfast. Staff speak English and are very knowledgeable about the area and happy to help out with advice. Would love to visit Hotel Niky again!

Ok the breakfast was nothing to write home about although the restaurant staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms were comfortable and quiet with all the staff keen to help, as we found with pretty much all the local people. The location is excellent being very close to a popular road full of bars, cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops. If you are looking for cheap and cheerful this ticks the box!
