We booked this boutique hotel for one night to visit the Amsterdam Light Festival for my birthday. We were fully aware that we had chosen a non-refundable rate and accepted that. Due to a sudden winter storm, almost all train connections were cancelled, and a blizzard with severe weather conditions was forecast for our return day. This raised serious safety concerns. We contacted the hotel early, explained the situation politely and asked whether a rebooking to a later date might be possible as a gesture of goodwill. We also offered to pay any price difference. The response was rigid and lacking empathy. We were told that the weather was difficult for everyone, rebooking was refused, and in the end over 90% of the booking price was retained as cancellation fees. The refund offered was minimal and disappointing. While this may be contractually correct, it reflects very poor customer service in an exceptional situation. The handling was inflexible and unaccommodating. We will not book this hotel again.

I booked this hotel with my mother, the location of the hotel is just fantastic, right beside the market. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are modern and very cosy. Little attention from the staff on arrival and housekeeping was brilliant. Mention to Jasmine at reception she is just wonderful. ♥️ The lobby area is just gorgeous and you have access to little treats. I spoke to a gentleman while booking the room and he was so friendly. The night Porter Donovan is very helpful. Overall we had a lovely stay. We will definitely return! Thank you to all the team at Hotel Notting Hill! Keep up the hard work 🤩🤩

Very nice hotel. Received an upgrade for my room that was very nice. Clean room, comfortable bed, nothing to complain about. Wonderful location close to the museum quarter and the Albert cuypmarkt, close to tram and metro station. Breakfast was small, but plenty of option, and they have freshly squeezed orange juice, something that is difficult to find in other places. Very good price for a 4 starts hotel. Highly recommended.

I love this hotel! Some friends stayed here a couple of years ago and were very pleased, so I took their recommendation. It exceeded my expectations, and that of my friends who traveled with me. The hotel is lovely, from the reception area to the rooms. The bed was so comfortable that I wanted to take it home with me. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, the hotel was clean and always smelled good, and the location is great. I would stay here again!

Google
The location is great, but the rooms are quite small and lack sufficient lighting. There was no water or chocolates provided in the room, even though I was informed they would be available upon arrival. Housekeeping was average. However, breakfast was good, and the restaurant staff were very attentive and friendly.

Hotel Notting Hill, Amsterdam A refined boutique gem in the heart of Amsterdam. The location offers both tranquility and proximity to the city’s highlights. My suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and impeccably maintained, with canal views that felt truly exclusive. Service was flawless—staff anticipated every need with quiet efficiency and grace. Breakfast was a sophisticated affair, with fresh, gourmet selections that set the perfect tone for the day. Hotel Notting Hill embodies discreet luxury: elegant, authentic, and effortlessly comfortable. A sanctuary for those who value refinement and privacy.

Google
Gorgeous hotel and perfect location. Only downside was I was given a room I hadn’t booked (I wanted attic room) when I rang reception I was told I had been given an upgrade “with a view” this was facing a car park…..room was also tiny. I was originally told the attic room I had booked was booked out but after explaining I had paid and booked, I was moved. Staff friendly but could have done without the inconvenience

I had a very pleasant stay at Notting Hill Hotel Amsterdam. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was great close to everything but still quiet and relaxing. I really enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Stayed here for 3 nights and no major complaints. The room was fairly small; the foot of the bed was around 1.5 feet from the wall, and the whole room was very narrow. However the bed was comfortable and everything was clean. I would have liked to grab a drink at the bar, but honestly I never ever saw anyone working there. The location was very nice! Everything was super walkable! I did take the train a few times, but mostly because my feet were tired and I needed a break. Overall, good location and good deal for the money.

Yelp
Notting Hill is a decent mid-range hotel in Amsterdam, near the De Pijp area. I booked through the hotel's official site. I would recommend bypassing the big travel sites like Expedia or Hotels.com, since they add hidden fees and provide nothing of value. This hotel's website clearly explains all of the fees involved. I booked the "Deluxe Double Room with Canal View". This was more or less a regular room; if you book a room without a view, it might end up being a basement room. My room was on the 2nd (US: 3rd) floor. Normal check-in time is 3 pm. I arrived at 8 am, and they did have a room available, which was nice. The room was clean; no complaints there. Slightly cramped: I had to move the chairs and coffee table so I could sit at the desk. The room's OK for working on a laptop. There's a wall outlet available next to the desk. The outlet is type F (grounded). The desk is glass, so you would need a mouse pad. The in-room safe was barely large enough for my 15" laptop. Most laptops should fit, though larger ones might not. Wi-Fi: free in the room and in the hotel. Same name and password for everyone with no additional sign-in. Probably no device limit. 6 Mbps down, 15 Mbps up, 20 ms ping according to speedtest.net. Somewhat slow. They use keycards for everything. You need a keycard to call the elevator (at least from the lobby). Keycard to get into the stairwell. Keycard to open the front doors after 6 pm. Most of this is fine, but you also need a keycard to power the room, which is annoying. If you take your keycard out of the slot, it turns off power to pretty much everything in the room. If you're charging something, it will stop charging. The clocks lose power, so they always show the wrong time. The do-not-disturb and cleaning signals turn off as well. They gave me an extra keycard, and I left it in the slot when I left the room so I could leave the cleaning signal on, but they took the card away after they cleaned. Bathroom: utilitarian. No small bottles of shampoo you can take, just large bottles of shampoo, body wash, hand soap that you are obviously not supposed to take. No face wash or conditioner. Toilet paper's a bit rough. Cleaning process: somewhat strange. I would say I don't need daily housekeeping, but the hotel seems to insist on it. They even left a note that says if you have the 'do not disturb' signal on two days in a row, they will come in after that regardless of whether DnD is on. Good location. Not exactly in the city center, but close enough. Near De Pijp, which is a nice and quieter neighborhood. Maybe a 30 minute walk to Dam Square, 20-30 minutes using the #4 tram. This hotel's closer to the museum quarter than hotels near Dam Square. Also closer to Albert Cuypmarkt, the Heineken Experience, Vondelpark. Lots of restaurants nearby, and they tend not to be tourist traps. Restaurant: Only open for the hotel's breakfast buffet. There are some references to the restaurant online, but they don't seem to have lunch or dinner anymore. The breakfast food seems to be mostly the same food that we have in the US. Mini-bar: there were no items for purchase here, just two free bottles of water. It functions as a small fridge, although, as the note said, it's not a very powerful fridge. Coffee/tea: a nice coffee maker and electric kettle for tea.

Yelp
This was the final stop on my eight day European vacation. This hotel was amazing and the service was impeccable. We arrived at the hotel approximately 2 to 3 hours before check-in time. The staff was more than accommodating taking our bags while we started off to explore the city. When we returned they had placed our bags in our room. We were welcomed with a gift of champagne and a portable phone charger. The room comes complete with a Nespresso machine, bathrobe, and slippers. Everything was clean and fresh. The location was right near the area with the Heineken Experience and several restaurants and bars. It was easy access for Uber and taxis. I definitely would stay here again when in Amsterdam.

Yelp
I have zero complaints. The hotel was really nice. Our room was clean and comfortable. They added special little touches like complimentary chocolates, chips and drinks. The location is great. Very walkable. The train stops right outside. I would definitely recommend.

Yelp
I liked it, didn't love it. Maybe part of the reason is that we just had 2 great hotels on our last two European stops on this trip. Notting Hill wasn't the third. Not that it's bad. It certainly has a high tech charm, friendly staff, on site restaurant and bar, and is across the street from the tram to Central Station. You'd think that would be enough but the room was small, the bed up against the wall, the floor on the single elevator was a dark gray carpet that was filthy and never seemed to get vacuumed. If you have luggage (who doesn't) note that it's about 5-6 steps up from the street to get into the lobby. Since I picked the hotel based on reading reviews and without any first hand experience here, I would say that I was fairly well satisfied. I would have preferred s different location since many of the things I was looking for were at least a 20 minute walk. But on the bright side, it's a pretty quiet neighborhood.

Yelp
If you're a techie gadget freak who loves ultra modern decor, you'll probably love this hotel. If function is more important, you might give it 3 stars. Clearly I fall in the latter category. While I fully appreciated some of the best overhead bed lighting I've probably ever had in a hotel, I didn't like sleeping up against a wall. If that wall had been up against my husband's side of the bed, you'd probably be reading his 1 star review! I'm considerably more adaptable. The location is good if you're looking for someplace quieter than center city. We found ourselves walking 20-30 minutes to get to restaurants and wine bars. It's also a 20-25 minute walk to the museums. The tram to central station is across the street. The bar downstairs was very nice and so is the restaurant. The hotel puts a coupon in your room for a free cocktail at the bar, which is a nice touch. The electronic button by the door for Do Not Disturb & Please Make Up My Room in lieu of a doorknob sign is cute. You can decide if gadgetry is worth sleeping up against a wall.

Yelp
Amazing, affordable hotel in the best location! We had no idea where to stay and took a shot here and it was completely worth it. Close to the action but distances enough to be quiet and calm. The room was clean and well decorated and I can't say enough great things about the staff. The adjacent street they suggest visiting is way less touristy and just amazing.

Yelp
I went to Notting Hill Hotel when it first opened. This is a great little boutique hotel in Amsterdam, and I would definitely stay there again. As soon as you walk in, you see the wall of luggages, which is neat from a design perspective. The hotel is very clean. The front desk staff are very friendly. The room was absolutely beautiful, really trendy and spacious. The bathroom was my favorite. Note: the door is see through. The big plus: It is away from the busy crowds of tourists that congregate around Centraal station and Dam square, but not that far from many attractions. From the train station, we took Tram no. 4 which was only a 5-10 min ride to the hotel. The hotel is also in the cool De Pijp neighborhood, where you will find many cool bars and locals hanging out. Also, it is 5 min away from the market, where you can grab a quick snack.

Yelp
If you are looking for a cute, clean boutique hotel off the beaten path, Notting Hill is the place. Kind staff, comfortable rooms and the perfect location! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Gorgeous, stylish hotel. Located close enough to everything to be walkable in minutes but far enough to be quiet. Great front-desk staff; hooked us up with a table at a great Italian restaurant on a minute's notice. Only thing keeping it from a five star review are the grumpy bartender and the maid who apparently thinks that "do not disturb" means "check anyway at 10:30". Overall fully recommended - would definitely stay there again.

Yelp
Just spent the last 3 nights at this hotel & loved it. Just a short tram ride outside the main centre of Amsterdam & on a direct tram line (number 4) from Amsterdam's Central Station. The number 4 tram stops right outside the hotel. We had an early flight so got to the hotel about 10am, not being able to officially check in until 3pm. However, John on reception checked us in & took our luggage until our rooms were ready. It was my wife's 30th birthday so they upgraded us to a canal view room, said that they would put our room on a priority to get in early & would call us if this was possible. When we got into our room we had 2 complimentary bottles of prosecco as a birthday treat. The room was spacious, bathrobes & slippers in the wardrobe & a mini bar. The bathroom was modern however the frosted glass door didn't have a proper closing mechanism which was slightly odd! The beds are very soft with a memory foam topper, brilliant if you like that but way too soft for me. Room service menu which is as extensive & not overly priced & neither was the bar prices. The staff were very helpful & offered advice on where to go, happy to make bookings for trips & restaurant reservations. Check in at 3pm, check out at 12pm but staff happy to keep hold of your luggage if you have early/late flights. The hotel does reserve €100 on your credit card until check out so be prepared for this on arrival.

Yelp
We didn't stay at this hotel, but stopped there for a late lunch during a day visit. The service was wonderful and the food was amazingly fantastic. We had burgers, sandwiches, fries and chips. Sounds so simple and one would not normally rave about these lunch items due to simplicity, but I must. I had a bun-less cheeseburger and let me tell you, I believe it was the best tasting burger I have ever had. My daughter's sandwich was chicken, cheese, egg salad, lettuce and cucumber. All meals were fresh, tasty and served with a smile.

Yelp
We have been in the Netherlands for 9 days and have had great food and experiences the entire time and we have very high standards. This restaurant exceeded our expectations on every level. We had the borscht, the beet tarter and the fish and chips. All were over the top! Thank you for great service Bri and the chef and his great cooking. Hotel is great too!!
