Hotel Nova Sintra

When we showed up at 7 a.m. with our suitcases after a very early morning flight from Seville, Rui welcomed us with open arms. We were just hoping to have a place to store our bags. Instead, Rui invited us to share in the breakfast (which we weren't technically entitled to as we hadn't spent the night there). This was just the beginning of a wonderful stay! Rui and his wife and son work tirelessly to provided a charming, warm hotel, and their love for the hotel is evident in every detail. ||The location was great. We enjoyed the easy 10 minute walk into town. We also enjoyed the laundromat which was next door to the hotel! ||We found early May to be the perfect time to visit. The weather was pleasant, but never hot. Sintra was not crowded at that time of year, and we had no trouble finding places to eat.

A family run business that exudes charm and service. The owner and his son took amazing care of us during our three night stay. Offering hiking trails, beach recommendations and sharing stories. I wouldn’t even consider any other place to stay if I was in the area. Breakfast was great even included gluten free bread upon request. The view from the hotel is also amazing with a beautiful terrace.

Excellent hotel, excellent location. The host Rui made us feel at home, always available for a chat and recommendations. He grew up in Sintra so knows best! So much better then a big, impersonal experience of hotel chains.

This hotel is AMAZING! The hospitality is exceptional, the hotel is lovely, breakfast was delicious and it is close to everything! We do not have anything negative to say about the Hotel Nova Sintra. The father and son management team were exceptional, they really set the standard for how to treat guests. The location is perfect, my husband and I walked to Centro in less than 10 minutes, we hiked up to Pena Palace in about an hour, and we parked our car (for free) within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Our room was lovely and super clean and comfortable. The terrace was an added bonus for relaxing after a long day of sight seeing. Breakfast was delicious with tons of options for every diet, plus fresh juice and coffee. This hotel deserves ten stars!

This place was great! The service is amazing and the location is perfect. The property is as advertised. Breakfast was wonderful, and you can buy drinks in the evening to enjoy on the patio with views of the castle. The historic centro of Sintra is maybe 10-15 min walk away. The train station is 3 minutes away. Parking is free and public and off-site, but the owner can help sort it out.

Highly recommended hotel with a very complete breakfast included. It is just a few steps away from the train station and the bus stop to Cascais, a beautiful coastal town also worth visiting. The owner, Rui, is always attentive to everything. Beautiful sunsets can be enjoyed from the terrace.

Beautiful place, very clean, very quiet. Location is excellent and free breakfast was delicious. We stayed there for our honeymoon and the family went over and above to ensure we had a pleasant time, even providing us a complimentary glass of port to enjoy on the terrace one evening.

Excellent hotel. Quiet and comfortable with a great breakfast. What sets this hotel apart from all the rest was the service from the family owners.
