Hotel Novecento

I’ll start with the good— Margherita. What a wonderful person and host. She went out of her way to help us with the issues we encountered and was just so kind and warm. I feel badly to say anything negative because she was so helpful, but these points are important to share. |This hotel shouldn’t have a four star rating. It is very basic. Our room was quite run down, very small, worn furniture, dark bathroom with a very weird shower. But—|The biggest issue is the parking. There simply isn’t any. The nearby lot is always full, and the street parking is impossible. I’d suggest not booking here if you are driving. |The location is good for restaurants and access to town. And breakfast was good.

The hotel is beautifully situated in Scicli. The rooms are clean and very lovely. Best of all was the service. Fabrizio, one of the owners, works the front desk. On our first night there, I developed a gastro-intestinal infection. There was no way I would find a pharmacy that was open at that hour. Fortunately, Fabrizio called a friend who ran a local pharmacy and arranged for him to meet me there and provide medication. Fabrizio literally saved our vacation. Extremely kind and attentive service all around.

We arrived in Scicli for 2 nights on the day Italy went into Coronavirus lockdown. Perhaps unsurprisingly we were the only guests, all others having cancelled. We were warmly welcomed by Fabrizio who assured us that the hotel would remain open until our departure date, which was very reassuring. We were very happy with our accommodation and the hotel in general. Given that all restaurants in Scicli were closed from 6pm, we had time to assemble supper which we ate in the hotel's cafe. Breakfast was good and served by charming Margherita who did not let events outside affect her cheerful mood - just what we needed. We were delighted by Scicli and the Novecento is definitely the ideal place to stay.

Lovely hotel in a perfect location. We booked the “bishop’s suite” and it was gorgeous. You cannot beat the location. We had a perfect dinner right next door. ||My only caution is to be careful if you are driving. Google maps led us up pedestrian only streets, with people in wheelchairs scurrying out of the way. We sorted it out, but not without stress. Pay attention to the directions from the hotel itself. Once you arrive you will be happy. How you get there is more problematic.

Hotel is located in the middle of the old city so a great location. The rooms are spacious and perfect in all respects. Plenty of great bars and restaurants near by. The breakfast choices are awesome and plenty to eat. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only downside was there is a bar but didn't seem to open?

Joyous bijou hotel with warm staff and a collection of works by the Gruppo di Scicli. Hot fresh ricotta for breakfast with the freshest tastiest fruit selection. Its location is smack bang in the centre of town. Hotel captures what is truly wonderful about this region. Plethora of eateries nearby. We hardly used our vehicle.

Very helpful, even though there was a language barrier. Great breakfast. Safe place to store my bike, and even made me a packed lunch for the following days cycling, which was much appreciated. Nice clean room. Great location. Perfecto!
