N’vY Manotel, a Design Boutique Hotel Geneva, Switzerland

"Entirely renovated in 2012, The Hotel N’vY Manotel is just 300 metres away from the banks of Lake Geneva and a 5-minute walk from the centre and the UN. The stylish rooms have a flat-screen HD TV, a Hi-Fi system, a multi-media plug, ambient lighting and free wired and Wi-Fi internet access. Tag's Café offers food to take away or to eat in, in a setting with a relaxed New York vibe. Customers can use the touch-screen tables as well as tablet computers. The exclusive design was created by Meres One, the renowned graffiti artist and lends the space an urban, non-conformist feel. At the heart of the hotel sits N'vY Bar offering a wide range of sophisticated cocktails. N'vY Bar offers original fusion cuisine in an environment where the backdrop is set by the in-house DJ. Located on a slightly elevated mezzanine, the Trilby restaurant offers Beef Simmental, Black Angus and Wagyu, Kobe style." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Hotel N'vY Geneva (Geneva, Switzerland) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A modern, colorful, rock-and-roll–inspired hotel in Geneva? The Hôtel N’vY styles itself a “boho-chic” boutique hotel, and with its groovy modernist furniture, its flamboyant palette, and its street art aesthetic, it’s a fair description. Headboards bear inspirational quotes against abstract pastel backgrounds; the bar is full of rock-star portraits and memorabilia, and Tag’s Café presents a kitsch version of downtown Manhattan counterculture. And underneath it all, it’s as practical and as professional as any Swiss business hotel. It might not suit everyone’s taste, but you certainly can’t accuse it of blending in." - Tablet Hotels

Everything, from start to finish, was excellent. My room was spacious and clean. The gym was well equipped. Breakfast was rich, diverse and handled with the utmost care. The hospitality of all staff was great. I stayed at the hotel for 7 nights and the option to wash and dry my laundry for free. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. It is also close to the tram station. Therefore I could reach all my destinations easily.

The hotel is centrally located, two blocks from the lake and short walk (or a 3 stop ride) to old town. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is varied . Service was impeccable. Special shout out to Carmen. Staff speaks French, English, and Spanish. For longer stays they provide free-of-charge self laundry service, which was a dream. Definitely a place to recommend. A bientot!

Google
Hotel is very central, trendy, cool bar, and the rooms had all the mod cons and very spacious. |Service at reception was as expected, quick check in and cases were in my room when I returned from sightseeing. |I didn't try the restaurant but from looking at the menu it seemed expensive and empty, this is maybe why as there are lots of restaurants around with fantastic views and food for less.

Stayed in a superior room for 4 nights. Chose the hotel due to the room size and reasonable price. The room was otherwise ok, but the lights were very impractical. Did not find the mood lights to be any good, just made me mad. Also it is not very nice to have a bathroom where you can see and hear from the outside. The parquet floor was full of scratches and partly sticky. The breakfast was good and we especially liked the local apple juice. The location was practical, easy access to tram 15 or short 5 min walk to the shore. Do not recommend walking through the Paquis district, since it was a bit shady. All in all a positive experience, even though the receptionist was the rudest we have ever met, when we checked into the hotel.

This hotel was a delightful surprise. I loved the ambiance of the hotel with the funky artwork including sculptures, guitars and a Harley. Our room was a "hipster" room decorated in purples and turquoise. It included a small sofa, Nespresso coffee maker and a modern feel. The hotel is walking distance to lake Geneva, excellent restaurants and the train station.

This beauty Hotel is well located next to the Lake geneva and Old Town with modern style and charming touch! The quality is excellent, rooms are spacious and clean, Breakfast is superior and the service on top level. Once you are travelling to geneva and would like to search for a hotel, i would recommend you consider the NvY.

Google
The location of the hotel was very good for us - close to the train station, but still in a quiet neighborhood. It was close to an area of fun restaurants, and close to the lakeside. We didn't have much use of the services at the hotel, as we were there for a short visit. But the front desk was very helpful. While the room was not large, it was a good size for us. It was very clean, had air-conditioning, and even a small refrigerator for our waters. We really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the city.

My friend and I stayed at Hotel N'vy and much to our surprise we were given an upgrade when we checked in. The staff speak multiple languages and are friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is in the modern Boho chic style, with furnishings in the lobby and rooms reflecting this theme. Our room was equipped with everything we needed and we liked the amenities (e.g. soaps, shampoos, good quality bottled water). I would say if you're friends travelling together, enquire about the room layout with staff and take a look at the room pictures, because some rooms are set out so that there's virtually no privacy when showering - it's a sheer shower curtain instead of an actual door. Our shower stall was actually semi transparent and formed part of the bathroom wall, but once the shower got going, the steam obscured visibility. The hotel is just a short walk from the main street, with main trams running along it, a Coop and Migros a short walk away, and not too far from the Rhône riverfront and Jet d'Eau.

Yelp
If you checked in you would be home by now . This is a pretty hotel and in the heart of Geneva. The hotel is short walk to the lake and sight seeing places. Yes Switzerland is very expensive so bring extra cash. The front desk folks were very professional and extremely kind. I love it. I mean we're in Europe so don't expect your American large sized hotel . Buffet was good as well. I have no complains. If you like a fun, funky, color hotel then this is it!

Yelp
Very urban style hotel room in Geneva and one of the best priced ones too! Most of the hotels in Geneva starts at $500, so this was a steal. I did have a difficult time with one of the concierge online when I had a question about fitting in a child's cot in the room. We were only there for one night and I didn't want to spend $500 on the family room when we were only there to sleep. This place is a little difficult to figure out how to get to from the airport, so we just walked instead of trying to find a tram or a train to take us here. The walk was about 1 mile and we didn't mind it. However, take the wrong turn and you'll end up on the Red Light district with prostitutes so be careful. Once we arrived, the concierge was really nice, though he had a hard time getting our room key to work and our check-in took about a half hour. Once we were upstairs in our room, it was all good. When I tried booking it over the phone, the person, I think her name was Sandrine, told me that the room was too tiny and wouldn't fit a family of 4, but I beg to differ, it was a standard size hotel room and even with the kids' cot in it, it was comfortable. Our bed had lights underneath it, there was an LED mood lighting that you can change. The tv offers music as well as tv for you to watch and everything was functioning from the tv itself. The bed was really comfortable and as you know, in Europe the beds are tiny, so ours was just two full size beds put together, but it wasn't too bad overall. The bar closes at midnight so we were bummed about that. Overall, not a bad place to stay.

Yelp
Clean room and excellent service for our entire stay. We forgot a personal item in our room and the staff helped us out so much! They packaged it so well and mailed it to us in a different country. They even wrapped my baby's headband that I forgot so carefully and included it in the package

Yelp
Used to be my fave after work place and they're just slacking in service these days. Imagine walking into the bar and sitting for 20 minutes and not a single person comes to serve you. Rumor has it they cut a lot of staff jobs but ...the bar is open why not have a person waiting at the bar to serve a customer. A fabulous idea. Sad...looking for a new after work place.

Yelp
This is an artsy hotel on the west side of the river. The hipster decor is the best part of the hotel. The issues: -hotel is in the seedy part of town, lots of questionable locals -our room had non-functional AC -shower is poorly designed and allows water to soak the floor, why is the shower open?! -the bathroom has semi transparent glass treatment, so you have no privacy as people in bedroom can see into it -resturant is pricey

Yelp
The interior of the hotel and design is so modern and different from any hotel that I have ever been to in quite literally the world. The beds are comfortable and the rooms clean and well kept. The breakfast in the morning has variety and is fresh. Now...the staff is something else. Swiss folks are notorious for being standoffish and cold, but the staff at this hotel takes it to a whole other level. Except for one woman who works at check in and the cleaning staff, the rest of the staff don't smile, greet or acknowledge guests of the hotel. They don't make any eye contact or crack a smile. They treat people like they are part of the furniture. It really is no excuse to say that "oh that's just how the swiss are" because this is a hotel where people from all over the world stay at and so the staff should learn some basic universal hospitality practices.

Yelp
Anyone who has been to Geneva knows how unnecessarily expensive the city can be. I've always believed that Switzerland charges above-standard European prices without much of the European charm. Unfortunately, some of us are forced to visit Geneva for meetings. Geneva hosts most of the international organizations and they prefer to meet in the city. It was a last minute hotel search that led me to the Manotel N'vY (interesting spelling). It used to be hotel Epsom. The Manotel group renovated it entirely and changed the name to N'vY. Perhaps for the best! In a city where a shitty hotel room can cost around US$500, the N'vY is fairly reasonable with above-average rooms. In fact, the rooms are pretty large for a standard European hotel. I had a small sofa and a decent sized working desk in my "standard" room...and enough room to move around without hitting the bed or walls. My room even had mood lighting. There is no mood lighting that can capture the rapid change in my mood, but it was a nice touch nevertheless. The staff are extremely polite and helpful. From showing me around the restaurant and bar to walking me to my room, they have been trained well. The hotel bar is pretty funky with an impressive cocktail list. In typical Geneva pricey tradition, all cocktails are $20 and above, but they are well made...my Aviation was excellent! The hotel is centrally located with easy access to public transit and downtown. Getting to the airport is fairly easy on public transit, and you can walk to the lake. There is not much going on in terms of "views", but the clean and ample hotel rooms make up for it. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a clean, spacious, reasonably priced hotel in the Geneva city centre.

Yelp
Nice enough hotel, not far from Lake Geneva and convenient for the centre of town . Staff extremely helpful- I checked in early and they prioritised housekeeping so I could freshen up prior to heading off to meetings. Food is good but unexceptional and unadventurous; wine list in the restaurant is not great.

Yelp
Gorgeous boutique four start hotel in Geneva. Very hip and trendy decor. The lobby is setup to be a lounge and they offer free wifi. There are two restaurants. A casual cafe wine bar and a more upscale dining room. On my first day, I had lunch in the cafe. I had a decent vegetarian sandwich that was made into a panini. It had roasted veggies and cheese. It was good but be prepared to spend a fortune while in Geneva. Even a casual sandwich could cost you close to $20. The reception check in was quick and painless. The room is gorgeous (see attached pics) and everything is very modern and high tech. The room includes a nespresso machine, complimentary Evian water, separate glass enclosed bath/shower in bedroom (can have privacy with curtain, and gorgeous white lacquered furniture. Large flat screen tv with blue tooth capabilities, mood lighting, and there's even a color wheel dial to select every color on the rainbow for your mood lighting. Very cool! Bath amenities are high quality and even include a foot pumice stone and hand loofah. Another plus is the location. A few minute walk to Lake Geneva. Near the fancy Hotel Wilson. In a decent neighborhood and centrally located. Although Geneva is expensive, we got a great room price. I would definitely stay here for a return visit.

Yelp
Very nice and gracious front desk and cleaning staff. The room was clean and comfortable, but became very hot at night despite turning the heat down low. In order to cool off you can open a window but it opens to a very noisy city street with people banging their doors and yelling loudly after the bars. They offer you a free travel day pass which is nice to get around the city and it's close to the tram and buses which is nice. The breakfast buffet was $30US and it was so disappointing to say the least. They were hardly attentive and almost annoyed they have to bring you coffee. The food was sub par - cold scrambled eggs loaded with cream almost soupy, cold sausages, uncooked bacon and they were slow in refilling pasties and breads. My companion thought everything looked so unappealing that he ate yogurt and granola - for $30! I would walk a block away and buy a croissant and a cappuccino for $10 next time.

Yelp
Great hotel conveniently located by the waterfront in Geneva. Walkable to the lake. There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance. The rooms are ultra modern, very clean and crisp. The staff is super nice as well. Only a stayed a night, but no complains. Will stay again.

Yelp
I am being hard on this one - but for the money it should be expected. Please be sure to read this well for a good understanding: Design + Rooms: 5 stars In-room food: 4 Stars ( excellent, but just too expensive ) In rood food choices all day: 5 stars Staff: 2 stars, truly very snobbish, acting like it would break their face if they smile... Seems to be more serving business not tourist, really week in making any kind of constructive suggestions for what to do... Location: 2 stars... I went out for a walk and made a wrong turn and wind-up in the center of hookers market and drug-dealing lords.. Was super scary and can't believe that they didn't say please avoid that street.... All in all - truly amazing design, high quality rooms, comfortable and peaceful ... Just seems to have the wrong staff... There is more to " trendy " then out jeans on and act all snobbish... You can actually treat guests a lot better... Would have given them a four had it not been these issues. All the coffee at the bar is excellent

Yelp
If you're staying in Geneva, you shouldn't expect to be getting a big room at a nice hotel for a reasonable price. It just doesn't happen. That being said, for the 400 or so Euro, I'd expect not to have the bloody shower in the same room as my bed. It's a very nice hotel, and not a bad location at all...but be careful if you're booking with more than one person per room. They put in a lot of nice features, for example, colorful mood lighting, but I would've rather had a little more space.

Yelp
The hotel is about two blocks from the Butini tram stop (tram15 towards Nations) which is on rue Lausanne. The rooms are clean. The front desk staff are helpful and they speak English. But the maids and room service do not speak English. Despite having the do not disturb sign up on the door, they kept knocking and coming into the room. This happened four times over two days... they were very apologetic once they realized what happened. No sweat. The fitness room is small. It has one elliptical machine, a treadmill, a stationary bike, and free weights. It was super clean. There are towels and water available in the fitness room. The free wifi signal is strong.

Yelp
Manotel owns a few hotels in the Geneva area. I staid at the Epsom a couple of times and enjoyed it. They have a fitness center and restaurant. The rooms are clean, modern, and a good size. The restaurant offers good food. The service is also very friendly.

Yelp
This hotel is a designers dream! The hotel itself has a modern design and is really breath taking. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Now why I'm reviewing them with 3 stars? Their service. The front desk is very stuck up and non friendly. They do not help very much and if they do its like they're doing you a favor. Also just a tip... There is a street next to the hotel called Rue de Berne a street full of hookers and drug dealers! Which the concierge didn't bother to tell us.

Yelp
Awesome!! Superb ... a really comfortable and well-appointed hotel. Very stylish and modern. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Geneva.
