Hotel Nyack, a JdV by Hyatt Hotel (Catskills & Hudson Valley, New York) 5 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The precise definition of “upstate” is up for debate, but for most New Yorkers, Nyack is upstate enough — cross the Tappan Zee bridge and you’re in a charming little village by the Hudson River, where plenty of B&Bs are all too willing to cater to your country-getaway fantasy. The newly reopened Hotel Nyack, however, represents the inverse. Instead of offering rustic-chic accommodations in a restored farmhouse, Hotel Nyack is modern and urban with loft-style guest rooms, a stylish steakhouse, and a Tesla charging station. Instead of apple-picking, you’ll be sipping craft beer on the rooftop’s lounge. Instead of feeling far away from home, you’ll feel comfortably close to it." - Tablet Hotels

Stayed here with my bf for Columbus Day weekend and I thought it was great. Staff was very friendly and the room was very nice. The walls are definitely thin and you can here your neighbor but we stayed during a period when they weren't as booked. They make use of the original metal structure which probably effects proper insulation. The King sized bed was very comfortable and the food at The Farm was great. Would definitely go back. Be aware that there is a $100 incidental fee and a $27 non-refundable resort fee that's enforced by Hyatt. The incidental was refunded to me within a few days of checking out, so no issues!

Positive: The decor was very different from others we stayed at on our trip. It was loft-style, more trendy and had kind of a hipster vibe. The staff were AMAZING! They really made us feel at home hotel employees at the restaurant! Negative: We really enjoyed every aspect.

What an amazingly great value and pleasant experience! My work requires me to be in White Plains/Nyack area every two-weeks for two-days. I search for hotels that look nice enough, but tend to go for lowest price. This has resulted in me almost always resulted in a cheap, not-so-clean, or safe hotel stay. I have seen the beautiful Nyack/JvD hotel from the road many times and when I saw on internet I assumed the prices weren't real and I would just be nickel-and-dimed to death bring the cost up to more than I wanted to spend. I finally took a chance, and man do I feel dumb not doing this sooner. The place has lots of parking, in a really safe and nice area, the building is beautiful and CLEAN, the staff were exactly what a traveler hopes for, the food was great, the bar was fun (I was there on a Monday night), my room was quirky cool - but more importantly CLEAN, comfortably modern, functional, and just an overall surprisingly lush experience and at a price that was simply affordable. What a great value! I will be staying here every two-weeks from now on. Don't pass by this hotel, stay here!

Great service! The staff were professional and are there to accommodate you during your stay. I was eating breakfast in their restaurant and unfortunately some maintenance was needed that generated a lot of noise disturbances, the manager kindly apologized and made my breakfast complimentary. Fairly thin walls, the neighboring room during my stay had some guests that enjoyed music until later in the evening. Didn’t mind the music since I had ear plugs and masks but I can see how that can be a nuisance to some. Otherwise fun place to stay. Updated bar, the pool felt private and the outdoor sitting area was spacious. The decor is modern but with a flair of gaudy, whimsical and sleek. Convenient location to hop on the freeway. Easy drive to Westchester or NYC.

Google
This was a terrible stay. I'll go from best of the worst to worst of the worst. 1st, the phone in the room was completely dead. It had no tone and just didn't work. I told the front desk to just call my cell if they needed to instead. 2nd, the decorative seat in the room was missing it's fake jewels. Instead, it was full of sharp spots as you can see in the picture. We had to cover it with a blanket we had from our house so we could use it without getting scratched. 3rd, the lighting wouldn't turn off. They had string lights under the bed and they were linked to the switches at the front of the room. However, they wouldn't turn off no matter what. They had to send a building engineer at 9 PM at night to fix the issue. They just disconnected the wire directly. 4th, the hotel soap was gross. My wife tried it once and immediately re-washed her hands without it. It smelled rancid. I had to go to Target to get us soap and lotion. 5th, the best part is that house keeping never came to our room for the whole trip. We even told the front desk and the front desk staff said they scheduled a cleaning for the next morning while we would be out. We came back in the evening to find nothing had been done. No new towels, the trash cans still full, and the bed still has no fresh sheets. We had to run out into the hallway and flag down a cleaner who was nearby. Even then, it took an hour for someone to show up... right as my toddler was napping. When they opened the door, my toddler heard all the noise and started crying at full blast because they were confused. So I'm there at the front door, grabbing clean towels, hurriedly grabbing up the dirty towels, picking up the makeshift garbage bags we made to toss into the house keeper's trash bag, and just taking the roll of garbage bag liners from the house keeper so we could do it ourselves and handle our crying kid. Do not go here unless you are going here to sleep and nothing else. I couldn't even check out in person since they had no one but one of the food servers covering for the front desk. The only positive is the dining and dining staff in that place. The food is pretty good, the service at The Farm is great, and it's very relaxing. It's the only reason this place gets above a single star.

This hotel seemed like it was designed by an idiot . The painted interior’s exposed hvac vents and electrical conduit doesn’t hide the fact that they went on the cheap not to cover all from view in lieu of a modern industrial look. |The bathroom sink spigot was too short …it only came out 1.5” into basin …you couldn’t put your hands under spigot because it was so short. I went all over my floor looking for an ice machine ..none..front desk said only one in the building is on the second floor …I was on the 4th floor…that’s ridiculous for a Hyatt hotel not to have an ice machine on each of the buildings 4 floors . The hallway wall coverings design looked like patches of a “Rorschach Test” . Front desk and staff seemed cordial.|I would NEVER recommend ANYONE to stay here and I’ve stayed in 2 -4 star hotels all over the world that were much much nicer than.

Rooms dark. Furnishing extremely limited and unattractive. Counter areas seemed dirty. Rooms facing highway somewhat noisy but acceptable. Responsive to request for more towels excellent - gave us a large bundle of different size towels. Staff at desk and in breakfast room very nice. However, room was very overpriced for what one gets. Whole impression of physical appearance of hotel entrance lobby, hallways and rooms depressing.

I will never return to this hotel, nor would I recommend it to anyone for celebrating a special moment or occasion. I booked their best room to celebrate my wedding night. However, upon arrival, I was informed that the room was already given to another guest. As a result, we were forced to stay in a different room that did not meet any of our expectations. Imagine booking a hotel’s best room for the most important night of your life, even calling two days before to remind them it was for your wedding night, only to arrive and find that they gave your room away to someone else. This level of disregard and lack of consideration from the staff is truly unacceptable.

Yelp
We stayed at the hotel because because Our Uncle was sick and ended up passing away. The staff was absolutely incredible Elizabeth at the front desk was incredible and made a terrible situation for us an incredible experience. This beautiful hotel, is only as incredible as its staff. From the restaurant to the house keepers were great. You will not be disappointed

Yelp
We had such an amazing staycation at this cute, boutique, hotel. We needed a little reset so we came with our little furry child (yes this place is pet friendly AND they have little complimentary dog biscuits at the reception which makes it so nice). Our stay was absolutely amazing and exactly what we needed. We were upgraded to a king bedroom suite which made the experience even more incredible. There were so many gems that I had bookmarked in Nyack and I'm so happy we finally had a whole weekend to check out and try almost every spot we had on our list. From the delicious El Cuñao Deli to DPNB Provisions and their perfect pasta. The coolest part is they have free salsa lessons before the salsa dancing every Friday (for hotel guests). Outside guests can also attend the salsa dancing for only $10. So fun! This was such an awesome spot for a quick staycation and a way to get some relax time in the middle of winter enjoying a cozy night in while exploring all the cute spots in Nyack. Would absolutely love to come back to this hotel when their pool is open!

Yelp
Another great stay at Hotel Nyack. Angie at the front desk is always professional and courteous- she knows her stuff. If you book a non balcony room, request 419 suite. It has a beautiful view of the cemetery and is quite spacious. Always neat and clean too.

Yelp
I have to say that The hotel & most of the staff are very nice but, a Manager named Ness, was so NASTY. She was nasty to her own staff, a bartender named Andrian and to the customers. I am also in the service business and she was just plan old nasty. I will never go to that bar again, just because of the way SHE treats her staff and customers.

Yelp
Be aware. Do not stay here if you are a light sleeper. I booked purposely on a Wednesday-Friday in hopes of getting some peace and quiet. I guess summertime means the opposite because the guest was loud and one room had a puppy that barked all night. But my biggest issue was the mice -yup mice scurrying over my head at night. They were having their own party. The ceilings were metal -nice touch but the sounds were louder. I tried to ignore it so I turned the Tv up very loud. So if you are heavy sleeper. Book away.

Yelp
Nice hotel to come, chill, and hang out. It looks well decorated and cozy place to have celebration and reunite with friends and family. The location is alright for a getaway, but nothing much to do in Nyack area imo. The food was alright. Overall, it was an alright experience. Not the best nor the worst, just alright

Yelp
Loved our stay here. The rooms are industrial and clean. High ceilings make for a cool vibe. Our room had a balcony with a nice view of the water. Staff are very friendly and had good recommendations for places to eat in town. The Palisades mall has lots of choices. Farm restaurant is standard for a hotel. Pet friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
on-site restaurant, Farm, which offers a fantastic happy hour from 4-6 PM. The menu was impressive, and the wild mushroom tagliatelle was absolutely delicious! I couldn't resist stealing bites of my boyfriend's braised short rib with mashed potatoes--so tender and flavorful. And let's talk about the espresso martini... hands down one of the best I've had! We ended our meal with a decadent crème brûlée cheesecake, the perfect sweet finish.

Yelp
Everything. This place is such a gem. Omg. The pool, the bar, THE RESTAURANT! The most delicious short rib. The greatest staff. Thomas the bartender and Tyler. Absolutely professional and helpful. My friends came from Connecticut and I'm from NJ. Great freaking time. Booking more weekends. Really impressive.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a couple of nights and it was a nice, quiet, break from our busy lives in New York City. The room itself was clean and comfortable. Although there wasn't any hand soap. The water pressure in the shower was mediocre and we couldn't look directly out our window because it was foggy glass on purpose. If I stood on a chair to see out the window which looked out to a graveyard and a 5G tower decorated to look like a tree! I liked the decor and the bed was comfortable. It was pretty quiet too. But the last night after I finally figured out how to turn off the closet light, I realized there was a green light that would flash every 1 minutes or so on the high ceiling (so I turned the closet light back on) and then it was less obvious. In the morning there was free coffee in the lobby and these granola squares. It was also an easy walk into town where there were a lot of bars, restaurants and shops. There were a couple of things that happened that left a lukewarm taste in my mouth with the service. But they made up for it. But I just wish I could go somewhere and not be lied to. We called two days before we were planning on coming to see if the hot tub was open. The guy on the phone said yes, confirmed it and then we booked the room with him over the phone. When we arrived two days later, we got a different answer "oh no it's closed". And then different excuses as to why. The manager made it up by taking off both of our "resort fees" of $25 each. Or so I thought... Then we went to the restaurant for happy hour and got over charged for both of our drinks and then were met by excuses when they were both more than listed on the menu. I could tell the bartender knew he was in the wrong because he refused to give either of us eye contact after that and his demeanor changed. He was more passive and stopped being as friendly as before. We also ordered the chicken sliders and nachos which were both really good. So much so that I ordered the nachos again the next night but this time brought them up to our room. A little trick, if you get the food added to your hotel bill instead of paying directly you get a discount. I ordered 2 sangrias listed as $7 and was charged for house wine ($8) per drink and when I commented he said "oh it's listed differently in the system." Then why does it say $7 on the menu? And then he changed it. And then my boyfriend ordered a house cocktail ($8) but was charged ($15) per drink!! A much bigger difference and he even asked if a dark and stormy counted as a house cocktail and the guy straight up lied. Because if it wasn't included he should have said that. So... I just wish I could go somewhere and trust the menu prices were correct. After we spoke up about it, the front desk manager waived our two resort fees and gave us two cocktail tokens which was great and we felt relieved. Or so I thought. But then, when we were checking out the woman asked us how our stay was and we both said it was medium without even looking at each other and then ended up talking again again what happened and then the woman said she would waive one resort fee and we were like well, the manager told us they were both waived (I guess he didn't change anything in the computer and just lied to us) wow, we really have to be on our toes I guess huh? It's like I just want things to go smoothly and not have to speak up to be treated right. We ended up using the drink tokens in the morning for the mimosas we ordered. The waitress was nice but seemed nervous and incredibly stressed out even though in this huge restaurant there was only two other two tops (so 4 ppl) besides us. The omelette was yummy and our drinks were good. She said that the mimosas would still cost us $3 each but then came back and said they were free. So we did get some comps and that was nice! So we tipped her a little extra. Also just to mention, we still tipped the bartender well in cash the first time and later when I went back as well despite what happened. I had a nice stay overall.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! Save yourself the headaches and issues I went through! Hotel Nyac, where do I start? On December 28th I had booked a room at this hotel for my girlfriend and I to ring in the new year. I booked through booking.com. Unfortunately, there was a death in the family. I contacted the hotel who said I was able to change the date. I changed it to the beginning of march to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. A month before, I noticed a charge for $260 on my card from the hotel. I called and Erica the GM refunded the charge saying it was a mistake. The day of check in arrived and my girlfriend arrived first. She was told she had to pay $160?? not knowing why, she did. My girlfriend calls me at work very upset because I told her I had taken care of everything. I promptly called tho hotel to find out what was going on?!? The front desk clerk said she had also charged me $220 additional for the room?!? I was livid! I have now paid for this room twice. I conveyed how pissed I was. Especially since I now have an angry girlfriend on the other line. I asked to speak to a manager. I was told there was no manager on duty. That no one would be in till Monday. It's peek operating hours and no manager? What kind of operation is this?? So I informed the lady at the front desk I was leaving work and heading there to deal with this. She got the food and beverage manager on the phone with me. He was rude at first and that really set me off! I left work early, jumped in my car and called Hyatt corporate. On the way, my girlfriend called me really pissed saying that the very young 20 something year old who I talked to was crying in the lobby. Now my girlfriend is consoling her and is furious with me. Apparently she needs a safe space to shield her feelings. If you can't handle a customer being upset (and with good reason!) then you're in the wrong business. Go find government work. Now my girlfriend refused to go to the concert with me because this girl is crying! Now I'm out an additional $150. Hyatt was less than helpful. The first person on the phone hung up on me and never called back. The second person basically said they couldn't do anything. I arrive at the hotel and she literally runs and gets the food and beverage manager. Leaves me standing in the lobby desk for a good 5 minutes. The f&b manager was very cordial. He stated that my girlfriend was in the dining room having dinner comped by them. He said he would comp my meal as well. I asked about the whole situation and what the notes in the computer were? they stated that it said paid by booking.com and that's all. Very professional! A GM and a manger knew about the date change and neither of them put any notes in the computer! They again stated that they could not get ahold of Erica, the GM even though they had called and texted her repeatedly. I asked for a room key. The F&B director checked me in. I asked him if he could let my girlfriend know I was there. He said yes and never told her! Creating even more issues! I got showered and dressed to come down to the bar for dinner. I ordered a cheeseburger and a cocktail of which I was charged $50 for a tasteless cheeseburger. My dinner was never comped as promised. My girlfriend and I didn't speak for 24 hours. We're still fighting over it 3 days later! This hotel stay cost me: $260 from booking.com, $300 for leaving work early, $160 charged to my girlfriend, $220 additional room charge, $20 tip for the girl who can't handle stress, and $50 for a bland cheeseburger, and $150 in concert tickets! Do yourself a favor and don't stay here!!!

Yelp
Nice modern with an old school flare. Very clean, easy check in. Beds were super comfortable felt like I was sleeping on clouds I did not want to get up. Love the fact that there's lots of parking available. Great space for events, actually stayed here for an event. Drinks at the open bar were good as well.

Yelp
My family and I wanted to do a staycation at this hotel for my mother's bday and it met all of our expectations. The hotel is very cozy and modern in an industrial way. Just unique. Ziya was very welcoming and attentive. Our server Kiara was very sweet and took care of our first meal at the hotel restaurant. We explored the neighborhood and it was very lovely. On our way out we had brunch and I must say the food was just great, for dinner and brunch, props to chef because dishes did not lack flavor and we enjoyed everything, our server JP for brunch was our fav, he was very lovely and hospitable. Thank you again for a lovely experience. Can't wait to be back

Yelp
Although I did not have a pleasant stay at Hotel Nyack, other urbanites looking for a Hudson Valley escape might. The heated outdoor pool could be a plus if guests there act like adults and not adult actors and actresses. This hotel is not meant for children or large families. Bring earplugs due to the sometimes strange metallic night noises.

Joshua J.

Yelp
Nice enough Hyatt. I have been to many, this one is unique in its style, reminded me immediately of a recent stay in a hotel in Gothenburg, very urban, city vibe for a hotel next to the highway. It was bigger, and more spacious, but my first thought was to the similarities. Longer than usual wait at reception given the hour, room was fun, different, seemingly cool, very different from the normal Hyatt experience. Day 1 thought, very nice and different for the value, perfectly functional for work stay

Mara K.

Yelp
I will never stay at this hotel again, unless they figure out a way to ensure that guests who do not want to be near guests with dogs are able to stay peacefully in blocks of rooms not shared by guests that bring their dogs. My stay was pretty miserable, as my neighbors' dog was whining well into the night and there was nothing I could do about it. I expected much more from a Hyatt JDV hotel.

Michael C.

Yelp
Good food but service definitely needs some work . New management is lacking. Friday night Cigar events are fun but call ahead to make sure they're haven't canceled it
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
I've had my eye on this hotel for awhile now, wanting to visit the area. I ended up here for one night due to a flight cancellation in the city and now flying out of White Plains. I used points, rather than pay the $500/night they were asking. Had I paid that kind of money, this likely would've been a one star review. I was a little surprised at how close to the highway the hotel is but once inside road noise was not an issue. Upon arrival, I was initial impressed with the hotel and staff. I have Globalist status with Hyatt and they upgraded my room and provided a goody bag as well. The junior suite I was given was large, clean and quiet; the most important things for me in a hotel. Once I spent a little more time in the room and hotel the experience went downhill a bit. The room has some very odd aspects to it. My room had frosted windows so you could not look outside. Wall outlets are plenty but not in spots you need them. There wasn't an alarm clock or any type of clock in the room. Several light switches are in the room, some are hidden. The light was on in shelving of the fridge/coffee maker area but I never could figure out how to turn it off. I went back down to the front desk in the evening because I need a tooth brush, but they were out. I found this odd since they're charging $500 a night. I also asked for suggestions of things to do in town on a Saturday or Sunday morning and I was given a very basic brochure of nearby places that offer guests discounts. No real knowledge of the area of was given. In the morning breakfast was good. They had a limited menu and a buffet. The buffet was $22. I had a couple questions in the morning for the front desk but again limited and vague info was provided even when asked about hotel specifics. In the end, I'm glad I only used points for the stay, as it was fine for one night. I wouldn't pay what they were asking if I had to do it again. If you can get a good price, this place is worth a stay but while it tries to pass itself off as high-end, the rooms and staff are not that level.

Yelp
Stayed over night (so close to Palisades Mall) going to Rockland Bakery tomorrow for Christmas breads and pastries. This is probably our third or fourth time staying at Hotel Nyack. Our stay was great from the start. We were checked in by a girl with the same name as Me (Samantha) which was cool! Our room was on the 4th floor with a balcony. There is a cute barn door as entrance to the bathroom. The ceilings are amazing and high / cathedral. When You can get this hotel for around $200 a night its a great deal.
google avatar

Jun C.

Yelp
Paper Thin walls. Can hear conversations in other rooms. Mentioned this to front desk when checking out and i suppose their standard response was "sorry about that". No chair or sofa to sit on even if the room was spacious. Nice modern industrial look hotel

Yelp
Dammit. Right at this moment some clown who memorizes Bourdain books is on his fourth imported IPA ("because American beer tastes like stale rainwater") going on about how Yelp is a scam and he heard that his girlfriend's brother's cousin got extorted for ads yada yada. Yelp is a great pastime and a boon for small business, but the hotel reviews continue to be an odd weak spot. That other hotel-focused website isn't much fun for writers, but it does seem to have fewer randos who want the Ritz-Carlton at Motel 6 prices. More to the point, this is a delightful hotel and the Yelp rating is bizarrely low. There's lemon-infused water, but even lemonade! Rooms have an industrial-chic feeling to continue the ex-factory vibe. I'd prefer a plain old empty fridge to the minibar but the prices aren't as insane as they might be. Service was friendly. The location is relatively walkable, with the downhill leg being easier. For the intrepid public transit user, you can get here by bus from certain spots in Rockland and Westchester. On the way up I took a Lyft from Nanuet.

Kat G.

Yelp
I'd give it a zero star if there were one. This hotel is barely a step away from a motel. While the staff are friendly and try very hard, they can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. For more than $500/night, we get: A shower that is barely a trickle. 1 single chair in the a king suite of two rooms. No luggage rack. No closet. Sofa cushions inside pillowcases function as bed pillows. An artful looking little tree stump as a side table, but no coffee table for an huge sofa. A metal desk that's probablly when inmates get. in prison For "room service" you have to call GrubHub to pick up your food from the restaurant downstairs. An elevator that barely moves. No sound insulation so we can hear the television and conversations from next door, oh and, a dog next door that wouldn't stop barking even after three phone calls to the front desk.

Jim S.

Yelp
The hotel features awful warehouse design, extra noisy rooms, and is vastly overpriced.

Deborah A.

Yelp
There is no sound proofing. Can hear everything! Music from downstairs event and neighbors next door can be heard as if you are in same room.

James F.

Yelp
The rooms are filthy, we had to move 3 times until we got a clean room. Hotel front desk staff is terrible except for the maintenance guy. Find another place to stay!
google avatar

Matt O.

Yelp
We came to visit the Hotel Nyack because we were in town for a family wedding. The hotel itself is in a fairly convenient driving location. Very close to getting on a freeway and nearby a Walgreens and the massive Palisades Mall if you'd like to shop for anything. The hotel itself feels very much like a renovated warehouse building (high ceilings, brick exterior, visible piping in the ceiling) if all fits their aesthetic. It does feel like the Aesthetic and "vibe" they are trying to create is priority over functionality. The amount of lighting in majority of the rooms feels dim, and part of that is because of no overhead lighting at all. We were in a regular room and it felt dim, my parents stayed in a studio which felt terribly dim. The "kitchenette/bar" had no lighting which made even brewing coffee difficult. The fitness center felt very lack luster and the pool looked dingy (but was being cleaned when we looked so A for effort). The sound levels and random thudding also didn't help in contributing to our experience. We were primarily out of the room so nothing ruined this trip, but this wouldn't be the first choice on my list of hotels to stay at.
google avatar

Cameron N.

Yelp
Stayed here for 2 nights for a work trip. My first impression upon entering the lobby and then my room was "Wow, this place is DARK." But it really is. Even with all the lights on, the room is still very dim. Ended up going to the desk and switching out of my first room because there was this weird drippy stuff on the bathroom walls. The receptionist was really sweet and accommodating and didn't make me feel awkward at all. The second room they moved me to had the SAME weird looking drips on the wall, which I now assume is due to humidity because the rooms have zero ventilation. The second room was a middle room with one window, so I decided to switch back to my initial (corner) room. At least it had multiple widows, offering a *tiny* bit more light! You can tell that this is an older hotel that's had a facelift, but missed the details. The phones and AC look ancient. The AC was very loud and puttery. I literally couldn't hear the TV while it was running. It was so loud that aft first, I tried to sleep with it off. Then I realized that the walls were paper thin AND that the building makes a LOT of noises. Also, there is a light in the room (maybe a smoke detector?) that flashes ALL NIGHT LONG. No matter where I stay, I always wipe down and lysol the surfaces, but this place made me feel like I definitely HAD to, if you get my drift. The shower was a bit sus so I wore flip flops when I bathed. The only thing I LOVED about the room was the bed. Sooo comfy -- I never wanted to get up!! My group ate at the restaurant the first night. The service was nice and the food was good. I got the salmon with asparagus and subbed potatoes for the rice it came with. It was enough food to fill me, but still leave room for dessert, which I really enjoyed -- creme brûlée cheesecake. The hotel also has a complimentary breakfast that starts at 7am, but it's nothing to rush down for. Cereal, muffins, bagels, hand fruit, coffee & an assortment of teas. Meh. Didn't get a chance to go to the pool like I wanted, so I can't speak to that. Not a terrible place to stay, but certainly not a place I'd choose to go back to.

Yelp
I stayed one night at the hotel Nyack. I was going to a show in Tarrytown. The decor and overall vibe is geared toward young adults and businesspeople. I wouldn't suggest going there with a family. I didn't see any kids while I was there. The people at the front were helpful and kind offering great recommendations. The room was clean but I did notice there wasn't much space to place my bags, the lighting was dim and the one window we had was frosted over which I thought was interesting since we were on the third floor. Overall, a nice hotel. Super easy to get to and convenient to the main roads.

Yelp
$300+ a night to stay in a room just above loud music that doesn't stop until midnight, this, plus the fact that the front of the hotel faces the highway (make sure you book a room in the back) made this a miserable experience.

Yelp
So where do I begin with this place! This is my second time being here and they have not disappointed me! For this review I do want to go over some of the amenities that are some of my fav and some that were not FREE PARKING: yes parking is free here with your reservation. I'm a big stickler for free parking. I want to just pull up somewhere and then unpack my bags without circling. POOL: Yes the pool is open now!!!!! I love getting in a pool. THE RESTAURANT: Now this is one of my faves. Last time i came here it was a different menu, They change their menu seasonally so it was nice to get some new choices. I do believe they offered a buffet in the morning which is nice as well. THE INTERIOR: Now it's not an amenity, but this has got to be one of the most decorated hotels I have ever been in. THE ROOMS: The room are equipped just like I like them. First off they're HUGE ROOMS! Bigger than hotel rooms I've experienced. They have a cute sliding door for the bathroom, a water closet and has a fridge. The only downside to the fridge is that it is small. Plus there is no microwave so if you do bring food, make sure its something you can refrigerate. Also the bed is comfortable and I didn't want to get up. BIKES: A few things that were not my fav........but i kind of brushed it off For some reason this hotel made a lot of noise. I was't sure where it was from, but It didn't last all night. DRINKS: I had an almaretto sour from the bar at the restaurant. it tasted like soda. Unfortunately my b/f took my card with him so I didn't want to get another one but thats something that disappointed me. Overall I love Nyack and all it has to offer. I love just getting out of the city and this place hasn't disappointed me or grossed me out in any way. This place is close to downtown so its close to a lot of shops, restaurants and the walking path at the tappan zee bridge. This hotel is one of my go to's if I choose to stay in Nyack.

Yelp
First of all, I am very shocked to think that I am actually writing this kind of review for a well-established company like the Hyatt. I am a native New Yorker, specifically a native Nyacker, born and raised and am very familiar with the location of the Hotel. I was very excited when the previous hotel "The Time Hotel" with Bobby Van's Steakhouse arrived in Nyack. I was equally excited when the Hyatt arrived in Nyack I I was expecting the same exceptional customer service; however, I was extremely disappointed to say the least. I am a part of a nonprofit organization that sponsors functions and fundraisers. I hoped to continue the long success of having functions at a location in the town we are so proud of and a hotel chain that is very nice, elegant with great and competent customer service. I have to tell you, to make a long story short. I was beyond disappointed. This is not The Time Hotel, the customer service stinks and is unprofessional. I spoke to the Director of Sales Christine, who was going to send an email and availability for events to myself and my business partner. She was going to include the Director of Food & Beverage. I waited 3 weeks no email no call. I left several messages and even went to the location. I was unsuccessful trying to reach her. I then made a decision to call the Director of food and Beverage Ziya Turgut to find out what exactly was going on, several calls to him did not get returned. What a Mess!! Wait, it gets better lol, I then go up the ladder to the General Manager Erica. Hey, I actually got someone on the phone, my lucky day. She apologized for her staff, promised she would take care of the total disrespect and lack of response. I quote " This is my team, they work for me, I promise I will find out what happened, I will get back to you by Monday March 24th". You guessed it, crickets" Nothing, I left messages for Ziya, Christine, and the GM Erica and absolutely Nothing. I feel so stupid to think I was going to get a response and maybe a reasonable explanation for the total lack of respect. I wish I could give this Hotel a score lower than 1 but there is no Zero category. The bottom line is IF YOU ARE PLANNING AN EVENT IN NYACK OR THE SURROUNDINGS DO NOT CONSIDER HOTEL NYACK. They are a joke. Go talk to Angelo at the "Nyack Seaport" tell him Roderick sent you. You won't be disappointed, and you won't waste your time for a month like I did.

Yelp
Hotel and rooms are ok but hotel says it is dog friendly...it is not. We have a small 15lb cavapoo and got a call that he was running in our room and it was an issue. BTW - we paid an extra $100 to have him there. property is on a cemetery, no closets or dressers for clothes in the rooms, heat / air units in rooms are motel grade wall units that are not up to expectations and beds are very small to say the least. You get all this at a premium price. I had high expectations and this B rate hotel/motel is a let down.

Yelp
This place is an absolute joke not worthy of the Hyatt brand name what so ever. They put me in a room with no window. Glass painted over so you cannot see out of it. Front desk does not answer the phone before or after stay. They also don't have any ceilings so you can hear other people snoring all night long. Amaretto is considered a premium top shelf drink at the bar. Used to be called "The Time" Hotel and is still quite considerably a waste of time.

Yelp
This is going to be a very honest and raw review so buckle up....!!!!! First things first- I grew up in a small town in Jersey and I HATE NY. I volunteer for an animal rescue and they held their annual event at a local haunted house. This was the first year that I was volunteered to set up the haunted walk-thru. The entire ride there I already knew that I was going to have a horrible trip, and that I wouldn't enjoy a single second in NY!!! After 2.5 hours of driving we finally arrived and checked in. The hotel room was cozy and the bed was amazing. However, the shower water was (only) warm and the lighting is VERY dim. We ate at the restaurant downstairs, and I expected it to be mediocre hotel food. Well, as much as I WANTED to hate it..the food was amazing. And I am PICKY! We ordered the espresso martini with dessert. The martini was so good, that I vowed to have dessert and martinis there every night of our stay. After dinner we were greeted by Davon, their concierge. His smile was immediately contagious. And as much as I wanted to be grumpy and loathe my trip to NY, it was absolutely impossible with someone so warm and genuine. He was a breath of fresh air in NY! Side note: the event setup and breakdown was a NIGHTMARE. We battled through a thunderstorm during the breakdown. My wife busted her eye open. I cried, and gave up a few times. My wife and I planned on packing up and just ending our trip early. We walked into the hotel, soaking wet, covered in mud, overwhelmed and exhausted. And there was Davon, waiting to greet us with a warm smile. Just talking to him put us in a better mood. We went to our room with a different outlook on our stay, got ourselves together, and enjoyed our night drinking martinis by the fireplace near the bar. With our two chihuahuas! It was extremely quaint and unwinding. Our trip definitely wasn't perfect. But, we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. It's amazing how much a single person can change your entire outlook on something. Davon was our saving grace for this trip, and I cannot thank Hotel Nyack enough for that.

Yelp
Pros: easy convenient location, only acceptable hotel in the area (says enough about Rockland) Cons: Poorly run, poorly managed, rude untrained staff, un-insulated rooms (it's "trendy") leaving you up all night listening to the party downstairs, understaffed, shall I continue?

Yelp
Finding a place to stay when you have a dog can sometimes be very difficult. Hotel Nyack is definitely one of my favorite pet friendly hotels. They are so kind, accommodating and helpful.

Yelp
Unimpressive. Especially at $300 per night. Bed was comfortable. Staff was nice enough. And the carpet in my room was nice. That's about it.

Yelp
We stayed at Hotel Nyack on the night of our anniversary in January. Wow! Can't say enough good things. The staffwas super friendly, especially Deborah at the front desk and Jesus in the restaurant. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and the drinks were well made. Salsa on Friday nights and jazz on Saturday nights make it a great place to go for fun even if you're not staying the night. And the prices, especially considering the clean, new rooms, were very reasonable. We would definitely stay there again.

Yelp
Went up to Nyack for the day and decided last minute to stay overnight. My son found this hotel online and husband and I agreed on staying here because it looked hip and trendy, offered complimentary breakfast, plus it had a pool. The front desk staff is warm and friendly and greeted everyone that walked past. We decided to get a night cap before heading up to our room-the bar is nice enough, the drinks were on point, and the live band playing was pretty good. On the plus side, their room decor is very contemporary and beautiful and we had a great view of the Mario Cuomo Bridge. The room is nicely stocked with drinks and snacks for an extra fee. The downside is that it's very noisy up in that room. Don't know if it's old pipes but they bang and clank frequently and the walls are thin so you hear your neighbors clear as day. When I went to the bathroom I could hear the guy next door puking his brains out. Despite all the noise, the best part of the room are the beds-they're clean and comfy and we were able to get a good night's sleep. They breakfast buffet is the usual-eggs, bacon, sausage, and french toast. You can order breakfast from the menu if you're not interested in the buffet. The problem was when the waiter came back with coffee and I flipped my mug over and it was dirty-like, someone actually set that table with an unwashed cup. The waiter was visibly embarrassed and apologized and got me another cup but I was grossed out and ready to get out of dodge. If it wasn't because my son was dying to get in the pool Ewww, the pool-the water looked murky and dingy and just plain gross. This was the biggest disappointment as it was one of the reasons we booked here in the first place. We just ended up hanging out on the deck for a bit before heading home. I really did want to love this place but I wouldn't recommend it nor will I be going back.

Yelp
I wish I read Yelp reviews before booking this place because we would have found somewhere else to stay. This is what I can confirm about the hotel reviews... - rooms are dim. They have a bed lamp and two chandeliers in our room and it still felt like a club (that's going to be a common theme) - rooms feel dirty. I don't know if it's the dark floors or the stained caulking in the bathroom or the sticky floor, but it felt like a club bathroom at 2am. Gross. - the ac and phone are prehistoric. The ac was loud, I initially mistook it for motorcycles outside when it first kicked on. The phone didn't work. - the front desk people were nice. No complaints there, nice and helpful. - the lobby is a cool hangout. The furniture was modern and comfortable. There are areas to sit and eat if you decide to bring food back from one of the great restaurants in the area. - gym is decent with cardio and free weights. - beds are soft and inviting, best part of the hotel. It is not a family hotel, the rooms are not designed for families. Not enough surfaces to put stuff on, not enough hooks to hang stuff on and definitely not enough windows to let light in.

Yelp
The aesthetics in this hotel are pretty cool. Very modern and clean rooms. However, a few downsides such as check-in was delayed for over 2 years, as a "compensation" we received two drink vouchers which we then found out were welcome drinks...therefore the staff did not really do anything for us due to their delay. Another issue is the AC unit in our room was very loud, so if you are light sleeper it might be issue or maybe it was just that particular room. The pool area is not very big and since we went during a holiday weekend it was impossible to find a place to shit or even use the pool. Overall hotel is nice, food and drinks are really good.

Yelp
New money vibes. Gorgeously designed but not thoughtfully implemented at all. Bar of soap and no soap dish. No telephone in the room...that kind of thing. Small details that add up. Party scene with a club vibe. Had a DJ in the restaurant that kept many guests up until past midnight with the loud bass. It was not a private party, this DJ was just for the public eating at the restaurant. Is their priority being a hotel with quiet accommodations or being a restaurant for outside guests with thumping music. It's pretty, don't get me wrong. Makes great instagram pics for sure but that's its strength.

Yelp
Our wedding, which took place on 07/29/3023 was marred by numerous discrepancies between the contractual agreements and the invoices presented to us leading to confusion & ultimately affecting our financial settlement. The confusing is mostly due to recurring turnover of designated points of contact within the venue, which transpired 3 times within a single year. We were left without a designated point of contact as the manager was on vacation. We were sent a bill 3 days before our wedding that we did not agree on. Subsequently, we did not countersign. Only one of our rooms was ready at check in & we were not provided opportunity to discuss the bill because there was no point of contact. On the day of our wedding one of the hottest days in July , the AC system in the reception area malfunctioned. There was no apology from the venue for the inconvenience. Our guests were left sweating in a small room with no air circulation because they closed the doors. Several other issues arose, including the missing contracted services: passed champagne service, confusion among the service staff regarding vegetarian meal provisions, incorrect dessert deliveries, and the glaring omission of champagne for the wedding toast. The night of our wedding my wife was crying hysterically while writing an email to the manager about how upset she was. My complaint relies in the fact we did not agree to the final charges. We were then charged the money on our debit card. A debit card in which they did not have signed authorization to charge. They made several small charges on our debit card. One for 4,000, 2,000 and 1,000. Clearly the reason why was so that the charges would go through because they did not have our consent. We made a complain to Hyatt corporate and they agreed that these actions were outrageous based on the service we received and the level of communication. They allowed the location to resolve the issue and the manager said that there would be no resolution.

Yelp
We secured 100 rooms & ball room for breakfast . From the onset I experienced issues. Our Liaison (contact ) changed a total of 4 times. There seemed to be a high employee turnover rate. My E-mails were not returned , my payment plan was not followed, my receipts never issued. Therefore I kept on top of everything on my end. I had very little confidence that the Hotel Nyack could handle my event. Unfortunately I was right . Upon check in the front desk was understaffed & extremely overwhelmed . Many of our guests waited on line close to an hour , to be told their rooms were not ready, even though they previously checked in on line. Several rooms were still not ready hours after the 4 Pm check in. Rooms were double booked & room keys were not working .I personally went back to the front desk a total of 5 times to have my key "fixed". When I finally entered my room another guest's luggage was there. I never received a proper apology . There was no one on staff to problem solve nor make things right. The Hotel is poorly managed & totally lacking in Hospitality & Customer Service. This was reinforced by the GM who was extremely defensive, rude & condescending towards me . ( I gave her far too much grace then she deserved as I would not sink to her level. )Bottom line she said I am not doing anything for you because you got what you paid for. I personally spent over $9000. In closing I must say from the planning stages to our stay , we never felt valued or that our business was appreciated. The Nyack is fraught with so many problems, I do not place blame on the staff but I do blame the incompetent condescending GM .

Yelp
Horrible management and service or lack thereof. We arrived late in the evening but had a reservation. When we went to our room our bathroom had standing water around the toilet and the shower. When I state standing I do mean standing not just a puddle or two. We went down to let management know and they didn't compensate or really apologize in any way. Nothing like traveling 2900 miles and arrive to a room that has a flooded bathroom and then told there's nothing we can do. We let them know to cancel our reservation. I do not expect the counter person to jump through hoops but at least they could have made a more concerted effort to remedy the situation. So, we drove to Jersey City roughly an hour away near midnight to acquire a room. I write not to complain but for a business to improve their service.

Yelp
I booked a couple of nights based on my booking site's reviews. I read the Yelp reviews the following day and immediately investigated canceling and finding lodging somewhere else. Luckily, nothing else seemed quite right. I practically went out of my way to find fault with Hotel Nyack based on the Yelp reviews, but simply couldn't. Sure, there were a few little things... Hotel staff should be trained on advising persons/provided with literature to give persons wishing to make day trips into Manhattan. Yeah, I can see how the darkness in the corridors might bother some (I thought it was kind of cool). A little piece of bed-stripping was coming off. And the upper-level entrance is just weird, and wouldn't be super-accessible if I had a disability. Otherwise... The staff was courteous and friendly without exception. The hotel was very clean and tidy. The food is decent. The decor is absolutely fabulous. I loved the carpeting, the Christmas decorations, the artsy, funky rooms... The beds are comfy. My girlfriend, who is pretty discriminating about lodging conditions and trappings, loved the place and would stay at Hotel Nyack again. It is very conveniently located. I concur with the comment on Lola, the thoughtful, hardworking, forgiving, gracious, kind breakfast attendant. If I owned a business in Nyack I'd hire her in a heartbeat.

Yelp
!!!!!!!!WARNING THIS HOTEL HAS BED BUGS!!!!!! I stayed here almost 4 months ago when i had a business trip to Nyack March 28th and 29th of 2023 - My girlfriend and I stayed in room 233 - I awoke the morning of the 29th with what i thought was a very small rash on my left arm. I brushed it off and went on my way to the work convention i was in town for. The following morning on the 30th i woke up with more red welts on my left arm, back, sides, face and head. I headed back to Boston and immediately went to an emergency room to confirm what these welts were. They were confirmed as bed bug bites. After confirming these were in fact bed bug bites by a medical professional, I immediately called the front desk letting them know of this disgusting issue. The woman Sam who answered the phone seemed totally un phased and lacking empathy when i told her the bed bug issue and she told me a manager would contact me the following day regarding this issue via email. They emailed me an incident report to fill out to submit to their insurance to file a "claim" Rachael Ryan from Gallagher-Basset insurance reached out to me. She had me submit proof from a medical professional that they were indeed bed bug bites. She then sent me a non-disclosure agreement to sign with the "financial compensation" of $300.00 for my "pain and suffering" The fact a Hyatt Hotel would treat someone this way is beyond me. I really thought better of Hyatt. The mental and emotional toll this has taken on me has been astronomical and i will not be silenced for $300.00 Imagine driving 4 hours in traffic back to Boston wanting to rip your skin off because it itches so bad.

Yelp
Absolutely disgusted with the Hotel Nyack. I had my wedding room block there this past weekend, which resulted in the following: 1. Front desk told my guests the wrong times for the shuttle busses, which caused mass confusion. 2. I flagged the mother of the groom as VIP as well as the sisters of the groom. Mother of the grooms bathtub was filthy and sister of the grooms room had Ants in the bed. 3. Zero housekeeping services and I mean zero. Not even for VIP extended stay rooms, not even to remove trash. And it wasn't a hospitality short staffed issue. When I talked to Chloe (Sales Manager) pre wedding she told me they were fully staffed (unlike so many hotels). I mean at least take out the trash? 4. Air conditioners broken in 2 rooms and no discount offered at check in (during the Summer). 5. In order to get a hold of the hotel it's at least a 30 minute wait on the phone (zero direct lines). To make matters worse, when I talked to Chloe about all of this, she turned it around on me and eventually just hung up on me. As someone who has worked in hotels for 20 years at the Director Level, I would never recommend Hotel Nyack. If one of my Sales Managers spoke to me the way Chloe spoke to me, they would be out the door. Get your act together and represent the hospitality industry and Nyack appropriately.

Yelp
Pros: bed- So incredibly comfortable. Lola. She works the breakfast shift in the restaurant and is the kindest human. Location- near town and convenient Cons: Bathrooms. Omg, redo the grout! Mildew, mold stains. Moved to another room for hotter water "nearer source." Felt dirty even if it wasn't. Products. The scents. No excuse for those products. Baby powder and old lady perfume. No. Heat/cooling: for the love of God, figure out a system more in line with current tech. Masks. We are still in a Pandemic. Hotel staff and guests should be wearing masks in the common areas. Why not?
