"Hotel NYX Cancun covers all of the basics of an all-inclusive resort: an infinity pool, plenty of lounge space on the beach, and a small but mighty food and beverage program that caters to most travelers’ tastes. Enjoy breakfast at Bellavista, pop in for lunch at Deck, and decide between Japanese at Umami or Italian at Chianti for dinner. When it’s time for bed, you can rest comfortably in the minimal guest rooms; they’re pretty standard for resort rooms, but some have picture-perfect views of the lagoon or the ocean." - Travel + Leisure Editors

We stayed at the Hotel NYX for a few days, and we had a great experience. Everyone was very friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff promptly addressed the two repairs it needed. There were a lot of food and drink options, and we thought all the food we ate was very good. Our dinner at Chianti was a highlight. The pool/beach facilities were beautiful as well. There's also a big mall down the street that we enjoyed visiting. This all-inclusive resort was exactly what we were hoping for!

The Hard Rock is awesome! My family spent 5 nights at the resort. We had an amazing time! There are so many activities during the day, exciting night life and delicious food and drinks! The staff is so friendly and helpful. We had the pleasure of having Alexis and Manuel as our butlers while we stayed at the resort. They were phenomenal!! Very friendly and extremely helpful! They booked dinner reservations, reserved pool side chairs for us, informed us of resort activities and helped with transportation to our excursion as well as to the airport. If we had any questions, we just messaged them and they responded promptly with an explanation. I would definitely request them as butlers again if we were to go back! Five Star Service!!!!! We highly recommend The Hard Rock Resort!!!

This Hotel delivers an exceptional experience for me & my family, blending boutique luxury with a vibrant atmosphere. We love the design, which combines modern elegance with a laid-back, tropical vibe. They are always upgrading and offering more and better.||The rooms are very spacious and have breathtaking views.||||The staff go above and beyond to make every guest feel at home. The hotel’s restaurants offer top-notch cuisine with a variety of dining options that cater to different tastes. Their cocktails are amazing too (specially “Fede” who is probably one of the best Mixologist in the world!!), live music every night…Mariachis, Violin, Cuban…Karaoke Night!!||||The selection of activities is equally impressive. From yoga sessions to boxing, aquagym, and even bracelet making or guacamole class, there’s no shortage of ways to stay active and entertained.||||The spa offers massage classes, facials, and state-of-the-art equipment, all of which further enhance the overall experience. Lorena and Victor run the spa wonderfully, ensuring a relaxing and professional environment.||||Umami Japanese Restaurant is probably one of the best I’ve been to. The fresh food, along with the incredible expertise of Chef Alberto and Chef Jovani, and the attentive service from the staff, make it truly exceptional.||||Chianti gives you the feeling of being in Italy. They even use traditional recipes passed down through Italian families, which is amazing. It’s also lovely to enjoy dinner while listening to the violin player.||||The restaurant on the deck, with its themed buffet every night and delicious lunch options during the day, was also a fantastic spot. The mariachi performances added to the vibrant atmosphere, making it a great place to enjoy a meal.||||The taqueria “Villanos” had amazing tacos. My favorite was the rib taco, but they are all incredible.||||I could go on and on about my happy place!!

The food is very delicious. The beach looks amazing and the weather was amazing when we went. We love the staff, all very friendly and nice! Especially Jair, Stefanie, and Rodrigo! They have plenty of fun activities for their guests. The rooms are cleaned very well every single day.

Our stay was great. Drinks are unlimited. The breakfast buffet is very good. The best thing about the resort is the staff. They are very accommodating to your needs and want to make sure you have a great experience. We went to the margarita workshop with Stephanie and Rodrigo, and Jair and they made sure we had so much fun. There is live music almost every night in the lobby with different bands.

This all-inclusive resort in Cancun exceeded all expectations and truly stands out as one of the best. The culinary experience was exceptional, with each meal showcasing high-quality ingredients and impeccable preparation. The sushi restaurant, in particular, was a highlight—offering a phenomenal five-course dining experience with generous portions that any sushi lover would consider a must-try. For Thanksgiving, we enjoyed an entertaining and lively hibachi dinner that made for an unforgettable celebration. The service was nothing short of outstanding. Despite traveling with a large wedding party, we never had to wait for anything, thanks to the attentive and efficient staff who consistently went above and beyond. Their friendliness and professionalism created a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the stay. The resort’s smaller size provided a perfect balance—never feeling overly busy or chaotic, while maintaining a lively, yet relaxed, ambiance. Guests can easily enjoy the amenities without the crowds typical of larger properties. Daily activities were thoughtfully planned and added to the experience, including poolside volleyball, dancing in the lobby bar, and engaging cultural shows. Whether relaxing or taking part in the entertainment, there was always something to enjoy. Overall, this resort offers a perfect combination of exceptional food, top-tier service, and engaging activities. It delivers a seamless, stress-free getaway that feels both intimate and vibrant. A 10/10 experience—I will absolutely be returning!

Such a fun resort!! Jair, Stephanie and Rodrigo stood out so much. So friendly and fun. Life at the party. They made the experience so fun. So much more than we expected. We took the different experiences with them and they really knew how to make it enjoyable for everyone involved. I’d highly recommend to anyone looking to stay somewhere and have a great time

Yelp
Very nice, affordable all inclusive resort. Smaller than other resorts in Cancun but for sure the most affordable without compromising quality service. The resort is on the beach with two medium size pools. Three restaurants and buffet breakfast included in all inclusive package. I would rate food at resort as 7/10. However, with only 3 restaurants, if you are staying longer than 4 days, you'll get bored with the food (we stayed 4 days). Also note that one of the restaurants only lets you eat there if you are staying 3+ nights. Which I thought was unfair even though we weren't affected. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Kept rooms clean etc. I would rate rooms 7/10. Nothing fancy but above average. Beds were comfy. There aren't any activities at night which was a bummer since I went with a group of singles. That would be something I would recommend to the resort is planning night time (or day time) activities for guest.

Yelp
Let me just start off by saying I do regret not getting the all inclusive package. It is pricey to eat at the resort a glass of soda is 5 dollars with each refill an additional 5 so it adds up fast. The food was ok, the breakfast was probably the best. Staff was nice enough, but I felt like not having the all inclusive wrist band I didn't get the same treatment. Would I go there again definitely no.

Yelp
am deeply saddened to leave a one star review. My boyfriend and I stayed from Sept 30th until Oct 3rd for my birthday. Unfortunately on Oct 2nd .2024 we came back from an excursion around 6:30 pm and noticed a watch missing from our room after we showered. This watch was left under the tv the moment we left our room at 5:50 AM. I believe this is no coincidence that it just happened the day before we leave .My boyfriend only brought two watches his gold watch and apple watch. This specific day he decided to wear the apple watch. The entire time we had been locking stuff in the safe but this time we simply forgot. There were only certain people with access to our room. We asked staff to review cameras. They filed a report and said they would question staff the next morning as they all had left for the night. If for some reason its not found they suggested we do a police report. Ofcourse if the cleaners report not seeing a watch there is nothing much the hotel can do. Update we went with guest experience. She said the room was left "open" and it was reported by cleaning staff. They said they did a walk through to check the room out. I was left astonished by this. The lack of accountability was crazy. They said anyone could have gone into the room and stolen the item. The crazy thing is my items , makeup and clothing was still in place. If someone had truly walked in there in hopes to steal upon entering the room they would have searched my bag and luggage. They would have taken my boyfriends belt as well. Also if hotel was concerned about safety why did staff not inform us the room was left "open"when we reported an item missing? Why were we not notified when we arrived. Conviently only when item was reported missing. I spent my night crying my eyes off completely shaking until my boyfriend convinced me to go out and still enjoy my birthday. Even then we came back before 11:30 due to the night being ruined. The hotel itself was clean and organized. The food was amazing. The front desk was inviting and amazing ( Maike and gentlemen at the front). Douglas and trainer also did an amazing job at taking care of us at the restaurant. We did the all inclusive and even upgraded our room. We spent and invested in the hotel along with tipping. Please be aware of leaving items in the room. We have stayed in sketchier hotels and never had any items come up missing. We also did not drink heavily, cause chaos , or were rude. I will be sharing my experience on instagram, facebook and tiktok. Be safe during travels everyone.

Yelp
April 2023: I now remember why I didn't leave a review. Ft. Lauderdale got flooded, and our connecting flight got totally dropped. Total nighmare. Bottom line: NYX was a fine little beach front resort. Staff were terrific. Daily activities by the pool. Decent hotel/restaurant food. Poolside beer glasses were tall plastic style. I did find one with cracks and a wee bit of mold... Whatever. I showed the bartender and he tossed it in la basura. The morning breakfast though, was always awesome. We speak Spanish and talking with the staff was always wonderful. Older dude, 5'3"ish, wears hair net thing, semi-stocky - the best dude ever! My man would save us 3 the prime outside seating in the morning. I went down early before wife and kid woke up, drank coffee, ate lots of bacon strips, and fed wild birds granola out of my hand. ZERO complaints about our stay. Had a balcony with an ocean view, and the pool *wink*. We thought we were gonna be all over Cancun, slashing machetes thru jungles, floating down cenotes, tickling dolphins, and all that dreamer stuff, so we opted not for all inclusive - this was our only mistake. Tired AF after day one were the parents... Our son wouldn't leave the pool, so if he's content, so were we. The taco place just below it, beyond the italian place, is also awesome. I ate 27 tacos from there during our stay.

Yelp
I'll go first by saying some of the positive with NYX hotel. The bartenders/waiters by the beach and pool, Juan, Julio, and the other bartender (his name is slipping my mind at the moment)are wonderful! If I were to come back there it would only be because of those guys. They were funny, attentive, quick, and had impeccable customer service. They go above and beyond. We enjoyed the 80 minutes couples massage along with the champagne and chocolate covered strawberries that came to our beach bed after. One of the best massages I've had a long time. We didn't take go to the pool often but the pool side entertainment guys seemed to be a lot of fun and people really enjoyed them. The outside of the resort is beautiful. For the negatives: Front desk people are not helpful. I have traveled all over and this place is one of the worst places I have stayed. Beware of the 'all inclusive' dinners as it is hard to get in to the two restaurants within the hotel. We were allowed 3 reservations per restaurant with our number of night stays. My boyfriend is an early riser and would try to make a reservation right away in the AM due to their one day prior policy...never had any luck. They use a QR code to book your reservation which is in the lobby. When using this code it just spins...nothing works. The front desk ladies just look at us like we are the problem when, in fact, seems like it's their janky system. Very frustrating. We also booked and paid for a deluxe king room. We got a small room with a queen bed. When we showed them our booking reservation they said we were basically out of luck to get the room we purchased or we could get a new room looking over the lagoon with two twin beds. They didn't offer some sort of refund for the difference between a king and queen room. What customer service they have! Wow! Amazing! Our room was also on the very top floor with no elevator. I understand why no one wanted to make the trek up there to clean our room. Our AC leaked from the ceiling and was almost impossible to get cool in there. The hot tub is also not hot. We noticed for an Adults Only resort there were a lot of kids at breakfast and the pool. After a long day of excursions we took advantage of the room service. I just assumed being an all inclusive restaurant, room service was also included. IT IS NOT. We paid $60 bucks for a burger, pizza and ice cream...and they forgot silverware. Guess we didn't need the spoon to eat ice cream. Again, the only reason I would stay at this resort again would be to see the bartenders and waiters.

Arin M.

Yelp
Families with kids should take my 5-star rating with a grain of salt. Please, read on. The staff and the employees make this hotel a 5-star experience. I will still point out the nuisances that we noticed. We stayed for 11 nights and traveled with a 20 m--old kid. We stayed in a Deluxe room. Some of the +/- is from the point of view of Dad, not a bachelor or a couple. In no particular order, these individuals interacted with us more often than others. Special thanks to: Waiters: Alberto, Luna, Valentin, Giovani, Rolando Friendly, respectful, and very helpful. Hostess Sophia for greeting us every morning and being friendly with our kids. Photographer Alejandro for taking great shots of us at the beach. Thanks to the cleaning lady for taking care of the messy room. In-house Dr. Ivana E. Puga Diaz for saving the day. I had the stomach flu/irritation and she fixed me right up. I was feeling 80% better the next day. We visited Umami restaurant (need a reservation for the show, but not to eat Sushi). We ate Sushi 2 or 3 times. It was good. To go to the Italian restaurant, you need a reservation; we visited it twice. Service was ok but not a fan of Italian food. Pros: + Second smaller pool was more appropriate for kids to swim in. + Bigger pool is used to play volleyball etc. and is near DJ and bar + The Deck restaurant (from 12 pm-5 pm and 6 pm-10 pm? (Buffet)) was our favorite place + Great selection for Breakfast + Staff are very respectful, attentive, and understanding + Umami (Sushi) restaurant was a nice touch + They provided a playard where our kid slept (Chicco brand) + Had to use laundry service to clean clothes and it was returned to us the next day (folded) + Partial view of the ocean from our balcony was nice + Overall; organized and clean facility. Towels can be exchanged easily and service is pretty quick (Bar or restaurant). + Beach was relatively speaking very clean and there were plenty of spaces to sit Cons: - Few families with kids, primarily couples and friends traveling together There is nothing wrong with that, but understand there will be noise from around 10p to midnight (party or live band downstairs) every day. Be prepared for that. Bring earplugs for yourself and maybe noise-canceling headphones for your kids (if they are comfortable already wearing them). - On June 11, lights went out from 7:50p-11:25 pm Thankfully the room was already cool. No wifi, no A/C, and the opening window was out of the question (humid/hot) - Light was out from 1:00p-2:10pm on June 14 - I would not have brought up the light out issue but with a 20 m.o. kid, it is not something I can skip especially with no A/C - Nuance: Not sure all other resorts have this issue but there is no fan in the restroom neither is an air freshener.

Yelp
Depending on why you're here in Cancun really determines what kind of rating you'd give this hotel. I'm giving this two stars because of its location and all the staff are nice even though they have a serious communication problem. I was in town for my company convention at the Moon Palace and we decided to come a day early to stay at a hotel in the hotel zone so that we can get some beach time in the aqua blue Caribbean waters. We chose to stay here at the NYX because of its location and high ratings on Tripadvisor. As soon as we walked into our room I was disappointed. We requested for a deluxe room with two beds but what we got was comparable to a specious one bed suite so we had to get a roll away bed for our daughter. The room was nothing like what I saw in pics. They were all modern and newly renovated, ours looked like a pueblo style room in a dungeon where everything seemed old, out of place and mismatched. We went to the front desk to see if we could get a different room, and they offered to upgrade us to a master suite for an additional charge (that's most likely similar to the ones I saw in pictures), but since we're only here for one night we decided not to do it. The food was ok but there's only one main restaurant that serves lunch then switches to dinner so there's not really a lot of options. There are two other restaurants on site but there's a minimum stay and advanced reservations required. They have body wash and shampoo pumps attached in the shower but no conditioner, which later we learned was the least of our problems. We made a couple of calls to the front desk for extra towels then extra pillows, but both times they didn't bring enough of either. They make the bed with two layers of flat sheets instead of a blanket, so we had to call again (twice!) for blankets, but both of the blankets they brought had a sour smell like it was soaked in milk and left out to air dry in the sun, so we just slept with pool towels and cuddled to stay warm. There were drain flies the whole time in the bathroom and the Wi-Fi was super glitchy before 10am. We were just happy to be out of the room, at the beach, and couldn't wait to check out. If you are looking for the all-inclusive dream vacation experienced, this isn't the place. But if you just want to stop here to have some fun in a white sand beach with warm aqua water on your way to another resort that's slightly out of the way, this will do.

Angela W.

Yelp
Overall the staff and hotel was pretty good but the hotel had a strong smell..possibly mold that they are trying to cover up but it definitely needs to be replaced. It was irritating me the entire trip, please address. It was a quaint hotel.

Damian P.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay here. It's a little more upscale I think k then others but the area is near all immunities. The pool/s are clean and amazing as well as the walk down the beach fromthe pool. They have great big sized Jacuzzis and it's really a nice and spacious hotel where you don't feel crowded near others. We got upgraded to a balcony suit and I rather enjoyed it. With its view towards the water and it was nice. The walking distance to the mall is great and the food in the area is perfect also. I do believe I will be back as it is very accommodating. One thing though, I'm on the 2nd floor and no hot water, hmmmm.

Dawn L.

Yelp
I am giving this hotel one star. I would give it zero stars or less if I could, however, a couple of the servers and entertainment staff were amazing. Management was horrible. I dropped a $20 bill and one of the staff members (I think a housekeeper) picked it up, and the management defended her and would not give it back to me. There is loud music playing in the lobby until midnight and kept us up, and they would not move our room without us paying a $50 a night upgrade fee. I was crying in the lobby due to my money is being stolen, and people mostly ignored me, but the food service staff were awesome and that is why I am giving a one star versus zero or minus star review.

Yelp
False Advertisement! I had booked since March 2022 for August and when we checked in turns out our "All Inclusive" was not All Inclusive. They claimed that's the name of the hotel, NYX Hotel All inclusive but it's in fact not named like that. They asked if we wanted to upgrade to all inclusive we had to pay $700 dollars more on top of the $1,500 I had already paid when I had booked and paid for All Inclusive package for 5 nights. I ended up paying for 2 All inclusive which I had to pay $280 dollars extra which I regret because I was not even worth it! I had paid extra for the Master Suite, when we got to our room the smell was very bad almost if not mold, the AC had a leak and there was a big puddle of water on the floor, they moved me to another room. The fridge was so small only had one water per day, and only two towels. The bed sheets and so cheap and the mattress was hard and uncomfortable. The food was extremely over priced $100 per night for 2. I did not like that no one was allowed to be in the pool after 8pm and they always ran out of towels. Front desk is rude and seems like they do not know what they're doing. Breakfast was disgusting the eggs were so watery and nothing looked fresh. Overall; I'm very dissatisfied and disappointed. I do NOT recommend this place for anyone! Save your money and book somewhere else! This isn't even close to being a resort. Only looks nice from the outside but is very humid and smells horrible. Just like a cheap hotel when in fact nothing in here is cheap and they try to take your money for anything. Only positive thing I did like was the ocean view and the location of the hotel- mall, stores, bus stop are all walking distance.

Yelp
Restaurant on the beach serve precooked food, also chummy chips, terrible. Friends visit prohibited. I was so happy to meet my friend from Mexico city who stay on another hotel, staff running behind me and him like we stole something, never had so bad experience in any hotel, never back here again. Disrespectful and luck of good behavior for guests.

Ed A.

Yelp
My biggest problem was the quality of food throughout the entire resort. THEY DO NOT USE REAL BUTTER IN THEIR KITCHENS. This might not sound terrible, but let me assure you- the margarine butter substitute they use has a very distinct flavor/aroma and it is all I could taste in every dish it was added to. Our NYE dinner included a salmon/lobster carpaccio that was probably 1oz of total protein. The beef tartare was completely oxidized, arriving at the table with an unpleasant brown color. The main course of seabass was ruined by the margarine. The other main entree was half a grilled lobster tail and beef wellington which arrived to the table cold, but otherwise was OK. And mash potatoes that also had the disgusting artificial sweetness of their butter substitute. During "Spanish Night" at the Deck restaurant- I ordered a beef dish which I thought was going to be similar to steak, and my partner ordered the grilled catch of the day which they told her was mahi. My beef dish was made up of two thin slices of poor quality beef with a slice of ham and cheese sandwiched between them, served with "potatoes" but really just french fries. My partner's fish would have been OK, although it was absolutely not mahi (I work in the seafood industry) and was still raw in the center. We tried the sushi at Umami the night before, and it was on par with a low quality grocery store sushi. At the Deck restaurant, they have a wood fired pizza oven that was legit, so I ordered a pizza one day at lunch and asked for it extra well done in hopes of getting something crispy. The dough is likely premade, super doughy and thick and unfortunately was impossible to get crispy. The ceviche we had at the Deck restaurant a couple times was a previously frozen mixed seafood blend. Probably 70% of the ceviche was unripe tomatoes & onions and 30% seafood blend. The breakfast buffet was probably the best part of the all inclusive plan, because it was one of the only places I could find a hint of authentic MEXICAN FOOD. Look for the tamales and plantains at the hot bar. Avoid the eggs here, unless you enjoy the flavor of their butter substitute. Table service for coffee and water was slow, you are pretty much on your own to track it down most mornings. On our first day at the breakfast buffet, I was wearing a tank top as we were planning on heading directly to the beach after. They would not let me in the dining room, and told me my shirt was against dress code and I needed to have sleeves. Such a ridiculous policy, really left a bad taste in my mouth on the first morning as I took the elevator back up 5 floors to get a T-shirt. WIFI was terrible in our room. I was told weeks before arriving that Tacos Villanos was not included in the all inclusive plan, which is fine, but if we booked a Sunset Suite we would be allowed one free meal at this restaurant. Well we upgraded to a Sunset Suite on our first day after seeing our dingy, dark, basement standard room. The front desk refused to honor our free meal for Tacos Villanos after upgrading to the Sunset Suite, and told me the promotion had expired. I literally have the message through FB from NYX telling me one meal was free with a Sunset Suite booking of 3 nights, and we stayed 5 nights. I asked for the operations manager to follow up with me, and of course no one ever did. The first 3 days there were not enough chairs on the beach to accommodate all the guests. On our last full day at NYX, both our room keys stopped working to our suite. We had to go down 5 floors and wait in line to get our wristbands reprogrammed. The level of service from all the staff is way below my experience at Vidanta and Valentin in Cancun. The overall attitude towards guests was poor, and they were very quick to tell us "no" throughout our stay. Pay a little more money and try another resort in Cancun. There are too many options to settle for what NYX has to offer.

Yelp
Did the All-inclusive option and it was well worth the price! Make sure to bring in your passport if you are from out of the country, they will need to scan it, and make sure when you sign their documents when checking in that it matches your signature on your passport. Rooms were very clean and modern. Room came with a mini-fridge filled with water, beer, and sodas (They refill this for all inclusive). The water pressure for the shower is weak, and the bed Is a little uncomfortable (too firm). Nice balcony outside with a nice view of the Hotel Zone and canal (I believe the cost is additional for the beach view). All-inclusive: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is all included at the restaurant located on the resort. The lunch and dinner at their restaurant is Amazing! Great tasting food with beautiful presentation. The breakfast buffet however was underwhelming, the lunch and dinner makes up for this! All drinks at the bar and restaurant is included! However premium drinks is not included (This includes drinks in a coconut or pineapple). The beach is beautiful with plenty of chairs. You may also reserve a cabana or have dinner on the beach for a cost. I took one star off because they seem a little disorganized. We made reservations for another one of their restaurants on site (Chianti Restaurant) and they lost our voucher for an all inclusive meal. I also saw they also ran out of rooms for a couple that had a reservation.

Yelp
My fiancee and I just returned from a long weekend stay at NYX, Cancun. We wanted to do a "quick getaway" for her birthday. When I booked, I got the all-inclusive package. When we checked in, the woman at the front desk tried to upsell us the "premium" package, which included top-shelf liquor and a few other upgrades. This was the first time, ever, that all-inclusive didn't mean the obvious. The upgrade was $50 per day per person, which would have added $300. Now, $300 isn't an exorbitant sum; however, when you book an all-inclusive, you assume it means what it says. The consequence of not upgrading was having to pay out-of-pocket for brand-name liquor, e.g., she likes vodka martinis and had to pay $15 per drink to get Gray Goose (they didn't have Titos). Other than the nickel-and-diming (a turn-off for sure), the rest of the stay was pretty good. We had an epic room with a large balcony that overlooked the ocean. I think we got lucky there, but it was really cool. The pool on the beach side was lively, the water warm, and the vibe relaxed. The clean, soft-sand beach is right there and front-row seats to the beautiful ocean aren't hard to come by. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food was pretty good - not stellar - but good. The breakfast is solid with a wide array of food to suit every taste. The sandwiches at the Deck for lunch are decent; however, the dinner we had there left a lot to be desired. The food at the sushi place was excellent and the meal at Chitanti's, the Italian place, was good. In summary, a decent place but know that if you get the "all-inclusive", you'll need to upgrade to the "real all-inclusive." It's really too bad they do this because, as you can see from other reviews, it's in poor taste and leaves people annoyed if not outright angry. The property is on the smaller side, but if you're looking for that, it works well. The rooms are clean and functional, the pool is a good place to hang out, and the beach is outstanding. The food is middle-of-the-road to good. The mixed drinks can be watered down - you need to pay attention to what's being poured. I just kept asking for strong drinks and they delivered those. I hope this review helps someone out there make an informed decision.

Yelp
I recently stayed at your hotel, and unfortunately had a very poor experience. Early in our trip, we were awoken by a phone call from the front desk very early in the morning. When I answered the phone and asked for the reason for the call, the woman simply replied "just seeing if you needed anything". We did need something, sleep, and that was interrupted for some unknown reason by the front desk. Throughout our trip, we grew frustrated with the inability of the staff to take care of simple requests. For example, my fiancé asked the front desk to ensure that our room was clean and the bed was made. After it was not done correctly, we spoke directly to the cleaning staff, and they were incredibly kind and did exactly what we asked them to do. The biggest problem with our trip occurred later on, when my fiancé suffered a serious bout of food poisoning. She was extremely sick, and was unable to leave the room for an entire day. When I spoke to the front desk, trying to acquire some boring foods that she would be able to attempt to eat, the staff was unwilling to try and accommodate my request. after we searched far and wide throughout the hotel, a kind person at the deck was willing to put in some effort and locate two bananas for me. I think the most frustrating part of this experience was the simple fact that whenever we had a problem, no one from the hotel was willing to put in a small amount of effort to try and help resolve it. After we expressed our frustrations with the trip, the hotel Repeatedly claimed there was nothing they could do to help us, and went as far as to suggest that our illness was simply related to a lack of familiarity with the food and the spice. We both suffered severe food poisoning during our stay and a simple (what can we do to help?) Would have been more than enough to make us feel like the hotel was trying to help . When my fiancé posted a review about our stay at your property, the response from the hotel was completely inappropriate, and also included several lies. It is completely unacceptable that instead of excepting responsibility for what happened to us during our vacation, whoever responded to her review made up stories to make her look bad. All we wanted from the hotel was a simple apology and unfortunately we have not gotten that. Our experience was extremely disappointing. We will not be returning to your resort. Please try to handle a similar situation like this in the future with more care and empathy.

Yelp
Service - 5 stars! Blown away by the friendly and amazing staff here. Had no issues all week, everyone went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! Food- 3 stars. Pretty bleh. A pain that you have to make reservations for their two "premium" restaurants the day of between a short window- could have a better system for this. We did all inclusive and the lunch and dinners were disappointing. Breakfast was yummy! Room- 3 stars. Warm, outdated rooms but it didn't really matter when you look out at the ocean! We also stayed in the building next to the beach palace and it was LOUD over there, gave us a bit of FOMO for not staying there

Yelp
Amazing hotel! It's a smaller hotel but it's just perfect! You actually get to relax! The food was amazing; lunch and dinner were served not like the usual buffet instead you ordered from a menu and outside with the ocean view. Everyone in this hotel was super friendly and made you feel so welcome! A shoutout to Ricardo,Jose Juan, Gustavo and everyone who made our stay here so wonderful! I would definitely come back but there are too many places to explore in this beautiful world! X PS: If you have a lake view room you'll get to see the sunset every night and its beautiful!! We had room 2501 which was right on the corner and you get both lake and ocean view The buses here take you anywhere for $1 and we also booked a hire car to explore the cenotes which is a must! And chichen itza was amazing. We also went to tulum and hired bikes there for the day. So much to do here!!

Yelp
I booked this trip through livingsocial and was kind of nervous because the yelp reviews. But they definitely showed us different here at NYX! Great service, good food, and such a cute resort. Totally feels like vacation! ps Eddy at the Magic Bar by the pool is the best bartender! Ps: can you ask eddy how he made his strawberry limeade cocktail?

Yelp
Very unprofessional establishment. My sisters and I had paid in FULL months prior to our cancun trip. When we arrived they claimed we never paid even with showing the receipts and the account with $1500 out of it. So they said they would place us at another resort for the night until the "payment processed". We were put nearly 20 minutes away from everything at the most disgusting hotel ever and they charged us MORE to stay their because our "all inclusive never processed". We were speaking to the manager Maribel and every day was promised we would be getting a room for us at the NYX where we booked from the beginning. Received nothing but a bunch of BS daily. Never refunded the amount we payed nor compromised us a room at least at a decent resort and one that was not where all the locals stay. 100% unprofessional, rude, and inconsiderate.

Yelp
Just don't. The food is completely chalked up to be something great but is less than average. There were few plates that we truly enjoyed - like the enchiladas verdes and chicken piccata. The front desk service is ATROCIOUS. They are so rude I don't even know where to begin. The hotel is in need of serious renovation. There are cover ups and shotty work all over that they just cover with paint. The excursion man straight up lies to you to get you to buy through him. The towel service is probably the worst part, you can only get beach towels between 8-6 and if you are going on an early AM excursion or want to go to the beach after dinner, just forget it. No one will help you and they will rudely tell you that you should've come between the allotted times. I took a chance on this place and was totally burned. The location is great but that's about it. Our best times of this vacation are when we left the property.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed at Nyx for a few days in February 2022, and I have to say first that every employee we came in contact with was incredibly friendly and nice, which really made the stay great. The pool is nice and of course the beach and the view are beautiful. The all-inclusive plan was fairly generous, in that we had plenty to eat and drink and never needed to order from the pay section of the menu. The servers also constantly refilled our house wine glasses (only house wine included in the plan, not specialty wines) when we were dining in The Deck restaurant, and were quick to take our order when we were at any of the multiple other bars on the property. The downsides: Our room, which was a "deluxe room" with balcony, was small and cramped. Luckily having the balcony was like a small extra room and made it bearable. The other thing is that while there was a large variety of food options, the food was just okay. They did have a lovely spread for Valentine's Day, though, with decorations and tons of cute desserts--something to keep in mind if you want to go to Nyx in February : ). They had pretty strict rules about when to eat in the specialty restaurants, such as the Asian one. You have to make a reservation, and the Asian place isn't open Mondays, so if you're only here a few days you might not get to eat where you want. Overall, I recommend this as a good pick for the price if you don't want to spend a lot more at another resort.

Yelp
Good option for an all inclusive resort when visiting Cancun located within the hotel zone. Experience overall was good from service to amenities. Hotel is clean and staff was friendly. Fridge in room is stocked with water, soda, and beer. Bar is available inside and by the pool. I only had one negative experience in which I made reservations for one of their restaurants, Chanti. When I came down at 9:50pm as instructed before my 10pm reservation, they had no record of it. The front desk asked who we spoke to and knew exactly who we were referring to but could not make any accommodations. Her name was Elvia I believe. The resort have 3 restaurants on site. Breakfast was average. The Deck offers both lunch and dinner, but I enjoyed lunch the most. Shoutout to Jose and Omar for being great waiters during my visits at the Deck. Unfortunately I didn't get to experience Chanti which is only offered complimentary for every 3 nights stayed. Food/drinks I recommend: - spicy mango drink - pina colada (pay extra for pineapple but comes with 1 refill) - fish/shrimp tacos - beef kabobs - squid rings - salmon - beef flank - ceviche - seafood paella - coconut ice cream

Yelp
Nyx is a beautiful hotel that is situated in the resort zone of Cancun. We booked the master suite for 7 days (all-inclusive) and we were welcomed with sparkling wine in the room upon arrival. There are a lot of things to do if you come before your check in time. In our case, we arrived at 10AM and had to kill five hours which wasn't hard to do because they gave us all-inclusive bracelets. We had breakfast and Rueben served us. We then went to the deck (a restaurant in the hotel right beside the beach) and was served by Rueben again. Rueben is a wonderful individual that likes to get to know his guests and make it a personable experience for them. We frequented to the Magic Bar or the Beach during our stay. Eddy and Juan at Magic Bar was very friendly and attentive. Julio at the beach was attentive to all of the guests in the beach which was stellar. The only drawbacks that I could say about the experience was our room. For being the most expensive room in their offerings we could literally hear EVERYTHING from our surroundings. Whether it's the MC at the pool, people blasting music from their terrace or other people leaving their rooms and the door being slammed shut. You hear everything! Other than that, service was amazing and I would recommend my friends to stay in this hotel.

Yelp
There are better options. This is a fairly well-located hotel in the Hotel Zone. It's priced rather low, especially now given COVID-19, so you can easily budget for this place. The price I paid for a high-end suite was surprisingly low, which should have been a warning to me, but I'm occasionally kinda dumb. Long story short, I was underwhelmed by this place. Among other things: - My room (allegedly the top suite in the place) was huge but poorly laid out, and faced directly over their bar, with no blackout curtains. Folks from the bar could (likely) see inside of my room 24/7, and I could hear them until the bar closed. It was loud, obnoxious, unnecessary, and I probably scandalized some old drunks. - The shower must have some bad plumbing, as it'd randomly blast scalding hot water, even when set to a relatively cold setting. It's a bit of a burning wake-up call. - The room wasn't dirty, but it wasn't clean either. You definitely don't want to be barefoot in the bathroom. - The food situation is weird. For the non-reservation restaurants, they are "buffets," but you have someone fill your plate while you look at the food and point. This resulted in me embarrassing myself by not realizing that there was an awkward makeshift line for the attention of one overworked server who was filling others' plates for them. The result is equally cringy: you end up awkwardly trying to quickly pick food to eat while some poor server holds your plate and stares at you. Given the huge number of options in the area, I'd probably skip this place.

Yelp
I'm giving this hotel 5 stars because my boyfriend and I had such a fantastic stay!! The service was always so kind and friendly- really should have brought more cash to hand out more tips- and there was never a poor interaction or anything of the sort. We did an all-inclusive package and were truly amazing at the high quality food and drinks! The Japanese restaurant Umami was our absolute favorite our room was spacious and clean and so was the rest of the hotel. Would love to come back someday!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this place. I want to start off with how great the customer service was. Every person there was always working hard and so friendly. I want to give a shoutout to Ruben for making our trip extra special he was so thoughtful and kind , Juan the bartender who made excellent drinks, Elio who was very accommodating on the beach& restaurant as well as Luis who went above and beyond. The food was always so good from breakfast to lunch and dinner the food was fresh and authentic! Our room was great facing the ocean and not to mention shout-out to the cleaning people who cleaned our room they did a great job. This is a clean place great people, location and can't beat the price! I highly recommend staying at Hotel NYX.

Yelp
This is the third vacation package we have bought in Cancun. For a modest price, you can't expect the Ritz. Typical resorts are dated but clean & staff is super accommodating. We've never been disappointed...until now. The rooms are utilitarian but clean. Wait staff near pool is accommodating. That's the only positive comments I can make. The food was absolutely horrible. Everything was over cooked. Even though all inclusive, we chose to eat elsewhere & pay it was so bad. First room we got had loud creaking pipes when water was used upstairs. Were moved but the next night the entertainment was blaring until midnight, so still no sleep. Hot tub doesn't work. There's a lack of seating at the pool & beach. During the day, promo girls solicit positive reviews for eligibility in a prize drawing, so take other reviews with a grain of salt.

Yelp
(continuing) The relentless quest to justify their mistakes and not take responsibility for anything. I don't want anything from this hotel. I just want to record that they dodge helping and even deny your pain when you're feeling bad. From the beginning everything we asked for, we needed to ask for it at least twice as they didn't give due importance when we asked. We were woken up at 8 by phone call at the beginning of the morning trip to ask unnecessary questions, ending our night's sleep. Also It´s not an all-inclusive resort. The only helpful people at the hotel in 7 days were the cleaning girl when I asked her to leave the blanket loose on top of the bed (not tucking it under the mattress and she understood perfectly in portugues) and a girl from the restaurant (who, after my fiancé spent the morning begging for someone help me, because I was feeling very ill, she looked for fruit to give me on her own). After spending a bad night, a whole day throwing up and not leaving the room for anything, my fiancé (who also had diarrhea) explained the situation, they said these abusive things: we can't get any food we can´t do anything because breakfast is over, tourists are not used to food in Mexico and if you want food in the room we have to charge. How come someone has muscle spasms from not being used to food? That was the worst food poisoning I've ever had in my life. I even cried and asked myself: how am I going to get on the plane feeling like this? They know I had a really bad time, so they sent someone to the room to fix the toilet and the cleaning girl had the unpleasant task of cleaning up my vomit because sometimes I couldn't get to the bathroom in time. I also had diarrhea and vomiting at the same time. After all this, they want me to be nice after finding out that no one has communicated anything to the manager? The manager had to find out for me and of course he just said tourists feel sick with the food in Mexico. Of course, I was angry! In the following days I was super weak, holding a glass was difficult. You can be sure that I wouldn't be here leaving this complaint if they had offered help when we asked. I felt like death when I was sick, I felt everything you can imagine: muscle spasms, body aches, cold sweats, diarrhea and vomiting. I hope that if something similar happens again they just say to the guest: I'm really sorry you're going through this. How can we help you? what can we do to minimize the problem? I'm sure there won't be any complaints on any site. But unfortunately, they chose the worst way to deal with the human being and let two people leave the hotel feeling miserable. And worse, this hotel is capable of lying and making up about you so they don't have to admit a mistake or say a simple sorry. It´s unbelievable.

Yelp
Just got back from the spring break trip with my son ruprecht. Great hotel and a good trip but a few quirky things along the way Positives: Nice sand, great buffet, lots of hot gals (note: also lots of bow wow dogs, please stop advertising in Montana and Nebraska). Great gym but they have a limit of 60 min on treadmill which is a problem. Very nice decorations Negatives: The older women on the beach are way to aggressive. Now I know I left the wedding ring in the room and had my shirt off but that does not give them free reign to treat me like property. They are very physical. Also can't tell if some of the locals are dudes. My waiter had a mustache and the tag said sam so I assumed it was a guy. Nope. Long ride from airport which I enjoyed but ruprecht had bad gas. Think rotten eggs in blue cheese. Not good. I would go back after the wife leaves me. Hopefully any day now

Yelp
This hotel in nice very peaceful only things I didn't like is the fact that they have no elevators it becomes such a hassle especially when you have been walking ALL day to have to walk a few stair cases just to get to your room. Food wasn't up to my taste (picky eater here) we got the all inclusive and was disappointed in the food choices out of my 5 days I would only snacks on small food options never really ate a "meal". Other than the bad food and no elevators this is a nice, safe, and welcoming hotel. Would I ever stay here again? Probably not.

Yelp
A solid 4.5 stars! Patch P. and I had a great experience here and most, if not all, of the staff were accommodating and enthusiastic with their service for the guests here. It was our first time out of the country and I was full of anxiety, but it was quickly calmed by the friendly staff that you get to see on a day to day basis. We chose the master suite, which was newly renovated and very spacious for two people. They were kind to put us on the fifth floor with a balcony to a grand view of the Atlantic Ocean that we took advantage of watching the sunrise almost daily! Breakfast was at the Bella Vista Restaurant inside the hotel, just opposite to the lobby reception desk. It was all you can eat and drink. We fell in love with their chiliquiles with 2 over easy eggs and definitely had that every day for breakfast, along with tater tots, sausage links, bacon, bread roll, and slices of ham and cheese. They also had a fruit bar and a yogurt bar for those that want lighter breakfast options. Coffee, Orange Juice and water were also available as beverages. Lunch was at the Deck Restaurant and served with all you can drink beverages along with an appetizer and entrée. The staff always makes sure your drink is full! Dinner was also at the Deck Restaurant, but the only difference is that you can fill up at their self serve station while you wait for your a la carte entrée to be cooked and served to you. They had a variety of seafood items as appetizers, fruits, salad, rice, pasta, soup, and a mini bites dessert bar. If you miss one of the meal service times like we did, make sure you have some snacks on hand and head to one of the bars in the lobby or by the pool to hang out until before they open the Deck Restaurant. Another tip is they do not have room service for meals available after midnight! So fill up or have snacks on hand! We also visited their convenient store for t-shirt souvenirs, tanks, water, Gatorade on the last two days as we could not decide on anything at La Isla Mall or Cancun Mart. We would like to thank: Eddy, Victor, Faustino, Tony, Eduardo, Arturo for giving us extraordinary service at both Bellavista and Deck Restaurant. Yuliana front desk receptionist. Edgar, our Lobby bartender and Valerie our Pool bartender. Jimmy, hotel doorman, and Angelina and Vincent for towel service. Can't forget our fantastic chefs and cleaning service crew. The weather was hot, humid, and sticky, which reminded me of summer weather in Vegas, but add an incredible amount of humidity. We were so fortunate to have come before hurricane season! The only hiccups in the trip were that the towels smelled kind of funky, the room had an odd smell, but we got used to it after awhile, and also for being stuck in a very tiny, cramped elevator for 5-10 minutes before help came to pry open the doors, which caused me to hyperventilate. Even though that wasn't so fun, I'd still recommend staying at Hotel NYX. We are blessed beyond measures and still can't believe we were able to experience such beautiful scenery and get some R&R at the same time. Definitely a great find, and be sure to opt for the all-inclusive package so you only have to wear a wristband and not worry about currency exchange! They also had parasailing and see-doo rentals right in front of the hotel, so you don't have to go far!

Karina L.

Yelp
Great service! The Sunset room has a beautiful ocean view. The restaurants serve a variety of delicious food, they have a photo shoot service, tour packages, and the bars are really cool! I highly recommend NYX hotel next time you go to Cancun.

Darrine A.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in great customer service. The only thing is I wish the pool was bigger. We had a really nice room with a beachfront balcony and the bed was very comfortable. The food was average but not completely that bad. I love the beachside chairs and beachside service.

Yelp
Caught a cheap deal and couldn't resist traveling to Cancun for 3 days 2 nights all inclusive resort , round trip transportation and airport transfer for under 400 dollars. Despite the poor reviews for NYX Hotel Cancún , my experience here was good. I requested an early check in and although request was not honored, lunch and the bartender Eddy made up for it. Also Norma the front desk receptionist was very nice and exemplified great customer service. Ensured me that although my early check in was not honored , my late check out would. Norma kept her word and my late check out was honored. Although Hotel NYX is not considered as a luxury resort the staff are very attentive and friendly. The hotel is located on the strip of Cancun hotel zone , and there's a beach on the resort , which makes its a plus. Waiters are also available on the beach , and you can order food and beverages; it's best to purchase the all inclusive plan. I also rented the cabana for the day which was only 16 dollars and definitely worth it. My room was very spacious and also had a balcony. I was not a fan of breakfast , however lunch was great. Dinner my first night was not so good, however the sweet and sour pork on Monday for Thai night was great. The chicken teriyaki was too salty. The only dislike that I had for this resort was that there ran out of washcloths and you had to pay for room service. Overall great experience and would def revisit. How can I forget Jimmy, Gabi and Francisco they were great and displayed great customer service. Sovereign shop was closed by as well, less than a ten minute walk

Yelp
We had a bad experience, our reservation was fro two room. We were celebrating our anniversary with our teen children. We ended up in a suite with two cots for my teens to sleep in. The lady at reception said it would only be for one night and then she kept avoiding us the rest of the week. When I called the front desk to inquire, I was told only the lady that registered us could help. Will be returning to Cancun but will never stay at this pace again.

Yelp
I wrote this review less than 24 hours of our arrival. "The Arrival" We arrived to the NYX for my Brothers wedding only to see no other option to getting my family's luggage into the hotel than carrying my bags up a flight of stairs at the front of the hotel. Once inside the balmy NYX hotel lobby I noticed a lack luster poorly imagened decor and a almost unnoticeable front desk to the left. (As a side note most hotels I've vacationed at the front desks are huge as if they were the embodiment of their customer service so when I see a small front desk I get concerned about customer service.) Alejandro was manning the front desk, he was very plesent and helpful. After check in we headed to our room on the third floor. We headed over to the elevator, first I noticed how low the top of the opening for the elevator was.(Now I'm 6'2" - 6'4" depending were I'm getting measured) Once the elevator opened I was very surprised to find the smallest elevator I've ever seen outside of a personal residents, two trips had to be made to get the family and luggage up to the third floor. When I exited the elevator again I noticed the decor or lack there of, everything was very plain and minimalistic. "The Room" During the approach to our room I noticed a gap between the top of the door and the doorjam, just kind of odd. Upon entering the room the lack of decor continued. (We were part of a larger group and I saw three rooms at the point of this review. One thing I noticed was that all the rooms were different but not in a fun eclectic way, it was more of a slap dash kind of way. Which is consistent with the feel of the hotel) There was a T.V. mounted to the wall with the wires hanging down and a mini frige with a coffee maker set on top slightly to the side. In the corner by the balcoy there were two chairs amd a small table but again with a lack of attention to detail the chairs were pushed up against the wall and the pass through door to the adjoining room and the table was pushed up against one of the chairs. There were two beds, a king and a queen. The queen was pushed into the corner of the room. The bedding was very minimalistic, they used flat sheets to cover the bed which came loose exposing the very old stone tablets they used for mattresses as I came to find later on in the evening. Not much to say about the bathroom, most notably the shower was quite large but had only one shower head at the far end making it seem needlessly huge. (As a Dad of a little girl I raise and lower the toilet seat when I relieve myself I was very annoyed that the toilet seat would not stay up. This is not a deal breaker.) "The Noise" Now for the biggest issue I had at the point of this review. The point of this section of my review is to point out that the noise that your neighboring rooms may become an issue. The doors of the adjoining rooms which there were two, on both sides of the room are as I can only assume made from tissue paper. The first night the individules in room to the right were having what seemed like an argument (not yelling) probably about the not so great accommodations, the only reason I don't know the actual reason for there loud interaction is because they were speaking in a language I don't understand. I listened to this until it woke my 5 year old after about 20 minutes and at that time I pounded on the abjoining rooms door and shouted "Do you mind". They piped down for a few minutes and then their voices began to slowly rise. I took a quick shower during which time they apparently had coitus as my wife later told me. The next day we woke to the sounds of constrution as they are building yet another hotel next to this one keep on mind I could stand on the balcony and hit the new hotel with a paper airplane. The construction noise lasted until 7:45PM. Around 5:30PM we headed back to our room to shower and rest. After exiting the shower, the room with adjoining door on the left decided to start playing music loudly (thanks to modern technology) and then started speaking loudly over the music. I can only assume they were getting ready to go out for the night or they were having a lame party in their room. I am writing this review to the music of my neighboring room. To wrap this section up the doors to the adjoining rooms allow for a lot of noise pollution. "Breakfast" Not any complaints here, come on its "free" and better than most "free" breakfasts offered at other hotels. Good mix of items some authentic Mexican dishes and some of the usual suspects you find state side. The customer service provided mostly by Faustino was great, he and the other staff during the breakfast service were courteous and helpful. Everything I tried was good. A special shout out to the short order cook he was hustling, I would have mentioned his name but he did not have a name badge on.

Yelp
Hotel grounds: Gorgeous hotel with a terrific location. The decor is simple, clean, yet chic. They get into the holiday spirit, which is very nice since we are from the California Bay Area where the extent of holiday spirit is limited to people posting pictures of their pets and/or children as reindeer. A traumatic experience all around. The hotel was larger than we anticipated with multiple buildings and pools. And, of course, the beach. The waters are a little rough for our taste (there's a shore break) so if you want a beach where you can float peacefully in the water, that is not this place. It is fun for wading and body surfing or wave diving but beware that the current will be pretty difficult to fight against. Accomodations: we stayed in the Master Suite and it was more than we expected. One bedroom, a living area, two balconies (one large and one small), and two full baths. Also, one soaking tub. All Inclusive Plan Worth It?: Most definitely. Food and drinks are included. Desayuno (buffet) is served in the Lobby restaurant. Snacks are available throughout the day at the snack deck. La comida and la cena are at the deck restaurant and it is ala carte. You will get la cuenta at the end of the meal but you are not charged. You just sign off with your room number and signature. There's alcohol, too. Service: The service is good but I get the feeling the negative perception toward the service provided stems from a severe misunderstanding of the whole point of travel and vacation. Yes, you are paying money to get here and have a room and whatever plan you select. However, remember these important points: 1. No matter how much you are paying, you are not entitled to be a rude, mannerless person. You are still a guest in another country (and if you are from Mexico, be nice too! These are your people.) You are paying for a hotel and for assistance when you need it. You are not paying for a private servant or willing slave. 2. You are on vacation. You are traveling. Do not expect everything to run on YOUR time. If you wanted things to run on your time or exactly like your home, you would have stayed home. The whole point of traveling is to experience something new: new food, new people, new ways that things operate. Things may run a little slow but this is a large hotel and the staff work extremely hard around the clock to make sure your accomodations are comfortable and clean. 3. Get a phrasebook. Take a mini Spanish lesson on YouTube. Borrow a Spanish language dictionary from your local library. Whatever you do, wherever you go, do not expect the locals to speak your language. As stated above, you are the one traveling. You are a guest here. Make an effort to communicate with people and be respectful. 4. Everyone at the hotel works hard and they have to serve dozens, if not hundreds of people each day. Tipping for their effort does go a long way. I hear people grump about how "You have to pay for every little thing!" That is not unusual. That is expected. You are better off tipping for your drinks, meals, and assistance here than going to one of the ultra luxury resorts that WILL nickel and dime you and you will be expected to grin and bear it. WiFi: WiFi is free and available in all hotel areas. You must get the access code at the reception. Money Exchange: A good tip for any foreigners coming to Mexico is to exchange your bills into Mexican pesos at one of the banks in town. You may not get the best rates right out the airport gate. Get small bills whenever possible because it is incredibly difficult to make change while out and about. Travel Arrangements: Super easy. We got a taxi from the hotel to the airport when we left. They also have a place for package tours which seemed pretty popular, so there's that. If that's your thing.

Yelp
This hotel was great and very affordable. The rooms were cold and very clean. Also the service at the beach was amazing and the food was great!

Yelp
Hmmmm... seems like Maps is slightly confused about the location for NYX... Rest assured, this is a luxury resort! I imagine they have the same challenges as anyone on this beautiful, sandy beach! Staff were exceptionally friendly + helpful. Erik Naveda helped with our bags and coordination with our transport back to the airport. Desayuno (breakfast, included) was awesome! Clean, organized presentation, omelette bar, you name it! View from the room: phenomenal! Dinner, perhaps overly ambitious and could use slight improvements; but service is excellent and you will be well-nourished! Views of the aqua-illuminated swimming pool and breath-taking Moon-lit Carribean Ocean... We were here for only one night, part of a larger tour. Had we stayed longer, we would have been further blessed with sunrise yoga, fitness center...

Yelp
Great hotel, beach view and service was great.also food was delicious and friendly staff

Yelp
This spot closed everything down. Cold shower in room. Jacuzzi outside is cold. They never told us we needed reservations for restaurants at check and then argued with me. We never got to eat at the restaurants bc we would need to pay. We were all inclusive and this is a bad hotel. You can't even swim in beach water. Don't come.

Yelp
I have had so many issues with this hotel in our one week stay it's ridiculous. First: I arrived around 1pm and was told it was too early to check in (3pm was check in) which was fine, no problem. They told me to come back at 3. When I got back at 3 they told me to wait because they were changing shifts..... so come 3:30 I'm finally helped and checked in. Not that big a deal but definitely annoying. Second: our 2nd night there the A/C broke in the whole building. It was way too hot/humid to sleep well. So we hardly got any sleep for the next few days. Ugh Third: BED BUGS!!!! Omfg I woke up to dozens of bugs crawling all over the mattress and several bites all over. Day 2 after sleeping in the bed one night I did notice some bites on my legs but assumed it was a mosquito. It looked as if they had infested the bed for a while, there were super tiny ones and huge ones as well. SO GROSS. They changed our room no problem but omggggg. Also, I requested they wash my pajamas since it was in direct contact with the bed. At first they told me I had to pay. Wtf it's not even my fault. Finally talked to the supervisor and he OKed it. I mean if they want me to bring the bed bugs along to the new room then it's their problem I guess... ugh definitely the worst part. Fourth: A/C still broken until finally fixed late at night. Fifth: uneventful thankfully!!!! Sixth: so I had dropped off my laundry in the bag provided in the room on the third day. After 2 days of asking the status and always being told "it will be delivered to your room" it NEVER. CAME. I went to the desk to ask a THIRD TIME and they hand it to me (it was sitting on the desk behind the counter. Why the eff would you tell me it will be delivered to the room when I have to pick the stupid laundry up myself. And they also said it is washed same day yet it took almost 4 days!!!!!! Omg (note i went 3 days without pajamas.... lol :/) I will never recommend this hotel to any of my family or friends and I most definitely won't be coming back. I deeply regret wasting my money here. We only have one day left and I'm praying nothing will go wrong. There was a few other issues but I think this post is long enough. Never. Again

Yelp
Recently stayed at Nyx during a trip to cancun. We initially booked a hotel called Mia cancun but since it was full they offered us a room in Nyx for a night. It is a very nice hotel with decent decor in lobby and well maintained contemporary style rooms. Why I did not used the word excellent or gorgeous because I've had better but this hotel gave us no problem whatsoever. It was a nice 3 star hotel. Pros Nice lobby with a bar and a tour information counter Room was very clean and nice We had a room with ocean view with a balcony above the pool Can connect to wifi in the room- pretty awsm! Breakfast buffet was good with lots of variety and authentic Mexican coffee Impressive dinner buffet at the Nyx restaurant - it had a salad and dessert bar and for main course I ordered fish fillet which was simply delicious Nice and helpful hotel staff Code activated safe in the room Nice pool with towel service and showers Beachside beds to chill Cons Cannot think of any Perfect for the price they offer :)

Yelp
Don't even think about staying here. Worst hotel experience ever. Worst customer service. Crappy rooms. Lobby was leaking and smells terrible. Told us our room would be ready in 10 min waited over 45 min with our sick throwing up sister in the unairconditioned lobby. They gave us a room with loud construction going on next door. We're currently trying to get our money back for the stay. Oh and we called room service to ask for bottled water since it was on the room service menu and they said no they don't have any. Honestly F this place. It's not even cheap either stay somewhere else.

Yelp
How can I not be happy in paradise you say? Well, apparently you CAN have a bad experience in Mexico! Luckily, my overall trip to Cancun was fun (due to friends and the tequila), but not because of Nyx Hotel itself. Located in the Hotel Zone in Cancun, it definitely had a convenient location. However, that's about all that it has going for it. --Standard Room: Unfortunately, pics from their website are very deceiving. The room was off to the side of the hotel, wi-fi connection was bad, no elevators, the room decor was worn down and out-dated. --Sewage smell /Leaking water issue in our original room, which caused our key not to work. Luckily, we were able to upgrade to a better room in the main hotel area, but mainly because my friend was persistant. The staff gave us hassle about changing rooms, like it was our fault. We had to remind them several times we weren't to blame, the key didn't work, and that they shouldn't be charging us extra for the upgrade. --After several days staying the room, I started developing so many rashes on my entire left arm. At first I thought it was maybe mosquito bites, but there were too many and they weren't even itchy. I highly suspect that it could have been beg bugs, per a friend who had bed bugs before elsewhere. No bueno! :( --Stolen Property/security issues: While at the pool, I accidentally left my Dior prescription sunglasses on a towel by accident. It was a splurge purchase from a while ago, and I rarely ever buy anything expensive. When I went back to look for my glasses, the staff was somewhat rude about it. I know it's my fault for forgetting my own property at the pool, but it was more about how the hotel staff reacted that made me upset. They didn't care and the security guard even said he saw my glasses, but made no efforts to help and was dismissive. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience. Try another hotel in the area. My other friends stayed at the Hyatt Zilaria about (1-2) blocks away, and I believe they had a much better experience there.

Yelp
Cleanliness: The first two days of my 4 night stay were pleasant, but once the weekend hit and after some rainfall, the room began to smell like mildew. I also woke up with bites all over my body after the first night. I couldn't locate bed bugs, but they definitely resembled bed bug bites. Every night, I'd wake up with more. Some of the beach chairs were dirty, but otherwise the hotel grounds were fairly clean. Room maintenance: I had to ask twice for my room to be serviced (even though I made sure I hung the "please clean" sign on the door). For some reason they kept forgetting to clean my room. Daily bottled water was also not included in my room which was highly frustrating because other rooms included a 1 liter bottle every day. I felt like I was scavenging for water at this resort. One day I asked a cleaning lady in the hallway for water and she told me "No. You have to wait for us to clean your room". They cleaned my room, but still did not include water. Every time I called down to the front desk after 5, no one ever answered to even ask for water. Also, the bed was so uncomfortable. It felt like springs stabbing me in my back the entire trip. Food quality: The food looked presentable, but lacked flavor. However, the food was fresh - just not great tasting. I wish dinner included more options as well. Restaurant service: Service for all the restaurants except for Hibachi were great. The waitresses at the Hibachi restaurant hovered a lot. Every drop of rice that fell off my plate, a waitress was there to wipe it down not even 3 seconds after it dropped. They were quick to grab my plate as well even when I was not finished. I felt rushed. The Hibachi chef was great though. Activities and entertainment: There wasn't much variety in activities and entertainment. There wasn't a lot of participation for the games. Also, it would've been nice to have a schedule of nightly entertainment. We missed a lot of the live shows simply because we were unaware. Price / Quality: The hotel wasn't great quality for the price I paid. I've stayed at better hotels in the area. I most likely wouldn't recommend this to anyone after my first impression. Pros: Norma at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. The alcohol was good quality and the bartenders were excellent - especially Eddy and Joshua. The wifi had great connection.

Yelp
I decided to surprise my wife and take her to Cancun to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and Hotel NYX seemed perfect. I called the Hotel days in advance let them know we were coming for our Anniversary and requested if there was anything special that could be done as it was a surprise for my wife. They said absolutely and would note on our file so we could have a wonderful experience soon as we arrived. Well.... it was completely the opposite! Our bad experience began soon as we stepped out of the shuttle. To start off the staff out front didn't greet us or even asked to take our luggage to the lobby, we had to do it ourselves. We get to the front desk to check-in and poorly greeted not even offered a welcome cocktail. There is nothing noted on our file. I ask the lady if there is anything special they could do for us as I had called in advanced to ask, she said there was nothing they could do only thing she could offer was a discount on an Oceanview suite. I had reserved a junior suite with lagoon view, yet she insisted nonstop for us to upgrade as if our room was garbage compared to the other suite. We declined. We had the all-inclusive package. The food the entire weekend was terrible. There was nothing we ate that we can say was tasteful. Americanized food, nothing local. I don't know about you but if I'm traveling international, I like to try local cuisine. Went to the Umami restaurant for dinner and had the worst sushi, so bad we couldn't finish a single roll. Staff overall was completely inattentive and unprofessional. Had bad attitude when we asked for food and would walk away even before we finished speaking. If you are not drinking beer, you are given bottom shelf liquor. The only two staff members worth mentioning with great service were Juan Jose at the pool bar and Yolanda at the Beach. Especially Yolanda, that woman made sure our drinks were always full and was the only person attending the entire beach. That lady deserves a raise!!! Again, our experience was terrible. We've been to other supposedly "inferior" all-inclusive hotels in Cancun that give you top quality food and liquor, and staff members that treat you like royalty for no reason at all. The only nice thing I can say about Hotel NYX is their establishment. But a nice establishment does nothing if your staff and amenities are not up to par. For them not to even leave a small and simple "Happy Anniversary" note in our room shows how much they care for customers happiness and experience.
