I stayed in this property for 2 nights. Check in was quick and efficient. The person who checked me in was friendly and answered all my questions. I was a bit concerned (due to the potential noise) about the room I was assigned since it was on the first floor and on the train track side. The front desk agent sensed this and she took the time to show me my room and how it had double-paned glass and an additional window panel to close off the double-paned glass windows. Needless to say, I was embarrassed about my concerns as the room was totally quiet.
I had no problems sleeping. The bed was very comfortable and the room itself was in very good repair and very clean. My concerns about potential train noise was all for nothing as you would not even know that there were train tracks close by. If anything, the only complaint I had was that the room did not have a proper closet, safe, and iron/ironing board. However, in the overall scheme of things, all very minor concerns.
If you are traveling in the summer, you should know that there is an air-conditioning unit in the room unlike most European hotels. Since it is still winter time as I am writing this review, I cannot vouch for how well it works but it is definitely nice to know that the unit is there.
I was also pleasantly surprised with the breakfast buffet (included in the hotel rate). There was a full selection of hot and cold breakfasts, e.g., scrambled eggs (real eggs and not the powdered eggs that you find in cheap hotels), bacon, sausages, different breads, cheese, meats, cereal, danishes, hard-boiled eggs, assorted fruits and vegetables, etc. There was also a cappuccino machine, fruit juices, and water available.
Check out is at 11.00. Since I still had to meet friends for brunch, the front desk attendant gladly stored my baggage in a secure area in the front desk office. Only front desk staff has access to this area.
Overall, this is a great find both in quality and pricing. It is a short walk from the train station and the city's Strøget and attractions. If you don't want to walk, there's a taxi stand in front of the station as well as buses. I would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to Århus.
