Where to Stay in Miami When You Visit (Updated 2025)

"Located on Ocean Drive just steps from the beach, this small hotel has an airy, beachy design with spacious rooms that include a desk, mini fridge, and flatscreen TV; the recently renovated bathrooms are large (many with both tubs and showers), and there’s a lovely on-site restaurant plus complimentary bikes for exploring." - Matthew Kepnes

The 7 Best Hotels in Miami (Updated 2025)

"On Miami’s famous Ocean Drive just steps from the beach, this small three-star hotel has a retro, beachy design and offers spacious, light-filled rooms with super comfortable beds, desks, mini-fridges, and flatscreen TVs. I appreciated the recently renovated, huge bathrooms—many with both tubs and walk-in showers with two shower heads—plus fresh coffee in the lobby, a lovely restaurant with sidewalk and outdoor courtyard seating, and complimentary bikes. For amenities the hotel doesn’t provide directly, guests can access nearby hotels’ facilities (including an outdoor pool, 24-hour gym, and a spa with a hammam, sauna, meditation room, and relaxation room), so you get a lot of value and an unbeatable location." - Matthew Kepnes

My husband Harris-El met friends to celebrate his birthday. We stayed in room 504 which was a great roomie roomie and excellent view of the beach. The hotel staff were great! Special thanks to Daphne and Kayra !This trip would have been excellent but our friend left his bag with new pants in room 211 and when he went back to get it after check out it was gone and the room had been cleaned. Was told it wasn’t there.

Google
Fantastic one-night stay! We had a large, ocean-view room on the second floor which was super clean, large bathroom (with tub) and a comfy bed. Even though we overlooked the street, the noise at night was mild at best. We slept like babies! But the best part of our stay was the position! Six-stars! Everything is right there. The beach, restaurants and bars are all around. Service to check in and out was brilliant. Really nice people. Thoroughly recommend

Google
Booked this hotel for a 1 night stay layover in Miami. I would definitely recommend this hotel! When I arrive there was a live band performing. I had a great breakfast in the restaurant that the hotel works with! When leaving I left my luggage there for the whole afternoon, and the staff helped me a lot with my transportation to the airport! Overall very good experience!

Google
Very nice location, however no pool but nice for a 1-2 night stay! Rooms are very nice and clean. Hotel is less than 2 minute walk from beachfront and hotel even provides chairs and umbrella for beach. Worth the value and plenty to do around/near the hotel.

Google
Talk about a mini Ritz Carlton 😎. This property has some of the best upgrades you can ever find at a boutique hotel. The location is the best. The service is top quality. They even helped us with our bags from two doors down because the uber driver couldn't come in front of the hotel. I was pleased with the service overall. I'd stay here 10/10 times. This place is good for everyone!

Google
Absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Ocean!!!The service was exceptional from start to finish and every staff member went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The room was beautiful, clean, and incredibly comfortable. I especially appreciated the amazing location. Everything was seamless and relaxing. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

Google
rom the moment I arrived at Hotel Ocean on South Beach, I knew I was in for something special. The location is unbeatable, but what truly made my experience unforgettable was the incredible service, especially from Brittani. Brittani went above and beyond in every possible way. She greeted me with genuine warmth, offered amazing local recommendations, and made sure every detail of my stay was perfect. It's rare to meet someone so professional yet personable—she truly made me feel like a VIP. The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed with a cozy beach vibe. I had a balcony overlooking Ocean Drive, which made for the perfect place to unwind after a day in the sun. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the in-room amenities were top-notch. If you're heading to South Beach and want the perfect mix of luxury, location, and personal touch, Hotel Ocean is the place to be. And trust me—ask for Brittani. She’s the kind of person who turns a good vacation into a great one.

Google
I came to Miami to celebrate my 29th birthday and decided to stay at the Ocean South Beach Hotel. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. The bed was dirty, full of hair, and stained. I requested new sheets, but to my shock, the replacement sheets were in the same filthy condition. This is unacceptable for any hotel, especially one in such a prime location. My stay was ruined by the lack of cleanliness and basic hygiene standards.

Yelp
Hospitality was amazing. Location is awesome. We arrived early from a Cruise, and they let us have our room early (because one was available) and allowed us to store our luggage the next day before our flight. Highly recommend!!!!

Yelp
Rooms nice. Everything else was terrible. Elevator not working. First we had to walk through the kitchen to the stairs to our rooms. Then they locked that door so we had to walk on the street in front of the building to the opposite staircase. Music every night which can be heard from our rooms. Bad experience all around.

Yelp
This was a very expensive stay that missed the mark in many ways. The location is prime, but it was not enough to warrant the terrible experience we had, nor the $400+/night. We booked directly through the hotel website. I saved the confirmation number when I booked luckily, as there was no correspondence from the hotel. Never heard from them. At the airport waiting to takeoff, I was curious if they offered a shuttle from the airport so I looked up their number online and called. It didn't even ring, no out of service message, just dead air. I emailed to ask about the shuttle, turned my phone off for the flight. In Miami, 6 hours later, I checked my email. No response. I tried the phone again, dead air. Got a Lyft to the hotel. When it was our turn to speak with the front desk representative, I told her the phone wasn't working. She said she was aware and it was because they were under renovation. Unsurprisingly, they figured out a way for the credit card machine to work, and their computers, but couldn't find a way to have a working phone for their business. This is unacceptable and ridiculous. You need to be reachable by your customers. I then mentioned that I had also emailed that morning. She then opened the email and said, Oh I see it here, I missed it. Again, just terrible customer service. The room was ok size wise, but not without issues. The cleaning staff were having very loud conversations in the echoey hallway outside our room. Literally yelling things to each other at opposite ends of the long hallway, someone's phone kept ringing and they kept ignoring it. The gap under our door was huge (I am pretty sure a large cat could slip under) and provided no help in drowning out their boisterous conversation. At night, we put our bags and an extra pillow in front fo the door to block the light and some of the noise. There was nowhere in the bathroom to hang a hand towel, nor anywhere to hang your bath towel other than the handle on the shower door. We discovered on our second day that there were actually some hooks in the wall, behind the door, but they had been used to hang up the ironing board. The TV was wall mounted and had a cable box just perched precariously atop the flat screen. I have no idea how it hasn't already fallen to the ground. There was nothing holding it in place. After we both washed our hands upon arrival, the sink held water as it was apparently clogged. We left the room for sightseeing and dinner and upon our return several hours later, there was still standing water in the sink. We weren't hopeful that they would be able to fix it in a timely manner and were going to just wait it out, but by the morning, after several uses, it was getting to the point where we would no longer be able to use the sink. I would love to have been able to pickup the room phone and call the front desk for assistance, but as mentioned, they chose to have no working phones. I got in the elevator in the buliding I was staying in and went outside to get to the lobby building, found someone at the desk and told them what was up. They said they would send someone up. The maintenance/housekeeping representative arrived with a plunger. She spent a good ten minutes and a LOT of elbow grease to unclog the sink. There was no coffeemaker in the room, so on our first morning, I went down to see what the options were. There were two other guests waiting to get coffee from the smallest, non-commercial Keurig machine I've ever seen. This was the only way to get coffee for ALL the guests in the hotel. It had to have its reservoir filled manually in the nearby water cooler and no one from the hotel was filling it. This was 100% self-serve. No instructions and no assistance were offered by the hotel staff. $400/ night warrants at least some brewed coffee or an in-room method.

Yelp
The staff at the hotel and restaurant (KANOLI) were absolutely AMAZING! We arrived super early due to early cruise departure and they we so accommodating and welcoming! They stored our bags while waiting for check-in, got us a great table at the restaurant and then set us up with towels and chair to take to the beach, all BEFORE we even checked in. The room was ready WAY before indicated and was clean and welcoming. A HUGE SHOUTOUT TO: Alexandra- Reception Jaramya- Reception Barbara, Miriam and Asin- KANOLI You all made the last night of our Honeymoon absolutely AMAZING and we cannot thank you all enough!! I would give 20 stars if possible!

Yelp
Definitely a good hotel for a decent price, right on the main strip on ocean drive. The hotel has a elevator, really nice dining room area, out side seating, a nice latin restaurant cafe that's down stairs and its connected to the hotel .only compliant there was no pool.but as guests you have access to the victor hotel right up the street, that has a really nice pool.you also have access to there internet cafe, that has apple desktop computers and free wifi. The food is really good me and my wife enjoyed their food and drinks.I had chicken cutlets with yellow rice and beans, and my wife had taco salad plus a couple of alcoholic beverages. The staff over there was great, the rooms were clean, the sheets and towels well maintained. The room service and customer service was good. Don't forget the beach is right across the street. Definitely a good price hotel on ocean drive with out you breaking the bank.

Yelp
This was very much an OK hotel. The biggest benefit to staying here is the location. You're required to enter through an open restaurant which situates in front of the hotel entrance. Check-in is slow. Which was a little annoying as we were busting for a bathroom at the time. It seems they haven't updated their technology in a long while. They do have free wifi which is good. (We were a little confused at first as the room card we were given said a wifi code was required but the person who served us couldn't find one for us.) As for the room, it's small but nice. Bed is comfy and there's a crazy double shower which is pretty cool. Our view wasn't great but I suppose natural light counts for something? What we didn't like was that the bathroom pointed towards the front of the building and there was a spotlight shining through the window at night. The bathroom door does not stop light (it is frosted glass) so our room, where we slept, was extremely bright throughout the night. The walls and doors do not seem to stop sound. We could hear very clearly anyone moving or talking in the connecting hallway and who knows if anyone could hear us in our room. Little unsettling.

Yelp
Let me start by saying this hotel is in a great location. Right in the heart of all the action of South Beach. Everything is within walking distance or you can rent a bicycle. The property though seems to be in a state of renovation and transition. It has great potential but the property and rooms are quirky. During our stay, elevators were not working. We were assigned a room facing the beach on the 5th floor, north side of the building but we had to carry everything up the stairs. This adds another hurdle, we had to walk out back to the alley, very dark and seedy at night, wall to the fire stairs hallway and walk up the fire stairs to the room. The room had no room number designation on it and opened right into the room. This is clearly meant to be a back emergency door. If you forget to lock the handle, anyone from the alley can access the room. And let me tell you, if anything 'bad' happens nobody will know. No cameras and no access to the office. Just stairs towards the alley. The room had nice laminate floors, bed and linens were nice, small fridge, wardrobe closet. The front room had no furniture in it. Just windows that opened towards the beach and a door that is the front door opening up to only the door to the room next door and the elevator. The bathroom was nice BUT there was a glass paned door right in front of the shower and toilet that exits to a rear terrace that exits to another set of fire stairs. We didn't eat at the property and the only parking was at a nearby public garage at $20 a day. The one shining star during our stay was the night desk clerk, Alfred, who checked us in. He helped us carry our stuff up the stairs, kept apologizing for the elevator not working and offered us champagne for our trouble. He also covered the windows of the door in the bathroom so we could have some privacy and probably told maintenance because the next day they frosted the glass. The other employees we dealt with seemed disinterested and even bothered by our asking questions or for help when the fire door was closed to gain access to the stairs to the room. And it helps that I speak Spanish so I could understand what was being said when we did ask for help. I probably would not stay here again in the future but the location and price would be enough to suggest others to try it but not be surprised by anything. I do hope this was just an anomaly and the norm. The property does have potential.

Yelp
This hotel was everything I wanted for a week long getaway for my birthday. The ambiance the staff the location. The only thing I wasn't happy with was when booking I booked for a bathtub and shower. Although once I did reach my room it was certainly beautiful and huge but there was no tub. Other than that I couldn't have found a better hotel. I most certainly will be back. Oh the food.. the restaurant below had the best ahi tuna.

Yelp
Stayed here to be close to the cruise port. South Beach in Miami Beach is a sight to behold. Crowds of people swarm the sidewalk. Hotel Ocean is in the middle of it all. This 1950's hotel is clean. The desk clerk was friendly. The rooms are large. This is not the Hilton. It is a refurbished property that some may wince at. Be warned. Atlantic Ocean views come with a giant dose of loud music that blares until the wee hours. I brought earplugs to help me sleep. Would I return? Probably not. But I'm not raving mad.

Yelp
I stayed here with my husband for our weekend getaway in Miami. The location and price were great however we did not expect to have music playing outside our window until 5am as well as having intoxicated people pull the fire alarm in the middle of the night. There was no apology or announcement made as all of the hotel attendants were frustrated and inconvenienced in the courtyard. The best part of the hotel was the free bike rentals the hotel offers. The hotel room itself was great and luxurious. In the future, I would stay at a different location and even pay a bit more to have an uninterrupted nights sleep and better service.

Olga K.

Yelp
We stayed 3 night in superior room reserved from booking.com I read review before travel and was shocked!! My biggest concern was included breakfast (on 1 review there was a horrible picture) and noise (someone said music played till 3 am). I called to booking to ask he quietest room. We were very very pleased. We stayed in 211. Room faced to wall but quite! All staff were very nice. Breakfast was fantastic! Set menu but really good! Music in restaurant was only till 12 and honestly I didn't hear it from my room. Room was renovated and exactly how it shows on picture. You can borrow bike for 2 hr for free, beach chair and towels for whole day for free! U can use Victor hotel pool!!

Yelp
Amazing place to come for first times. I myself am from Miami but my wife is not and we loved the atmosphere live music and sea food. Cocktails were amazing, great service by Ramazan

Yelp
One of the worst experiences at a hotel I've ever had. The only good thing about it was the location. Central to pretty much everything. When we first got there the woman at the front desk was rude & very abrupt with her responses to my simple questions. We asked to check in early since our flight had landed at 7:15 AM, it was now 11:00 AM. She said no & that they had nothing available until 3:00 P.M., that was fine. We left to the beach and returned around 3:30 P.M. Got the 'Superior' room, we booked it through Expedia. Our stay was 4/9 (FRI)- 4/11 (SUN). Not sure why we got stuck with this specific room since we were several hours early...The hotel room (502) has 3 entrances & only 2 are accessible since their elevator is broken. The entrance they initially showed us was through some alley way into the patio are that led to a bathroom back door. When my sister and I tried entering through this route on our own we saw a lot of people in the alley (including a cross-dressing gentleman talking to himself). It was just my sister and I on this trip so we already felt uneasy about the strange entryway to begin with. On Fri 4/9 we told Alfred at the front (He was the one who showed us up originally, the older rude woman from earlier must have been been off at this point) our concerns, he then showed us ANOTHER way to enter the room. He referred to is as the 'safer' way ....Why show us a room entry way that isn't safe to begin with?! This 2nd entry way access was through a side door to the right of the restaurant that operates in front of the hotel. You had to walk up several flights of stairs in a dimly light hallway , this door that led into the room also had a strange keyed entry (None of the entry ways they showed us had electronic entryways and/or key cards! All were actual keyed entry ways! Very weird). This entry led to some door near the side of our bed. Thank goodness we had friends staying in Miami as well....Since we felt beyond UNSAFE trying to come back to a room at night that required entry through an alley OR up 5 flights of stairs in a dimly light stairwell we did not return to room 502 EVEN ONCE TO SLEEP THE ENTIRE 2 NIGHTS WE BOOKED IT FOR!! We paid near $1,000 for this room. Besides just the entry way dilemma....it gets worse! The floor was beyond filthy (My sister and I wore sandals as soon as we stepped out of the shower so our feet wouldn't turn black from the dirt), the hair dryer had dark orange gunk plastered to it, the front room had no furniture in it at all, the window sills were dirty. It was just all around a horrible experience. On SUN 4/11 I actually had an altercation with the HOUSEKEEPER! As I was descending 5 flights of stairs through the weird side door near the bed she saw me making my way down the stairs and asked what room I was in. When I told her 502 she asked to have my key to clean the room. WHAT?! I was already frustrated by the uncleanliness of the room in itself and the creepy, unsafe room entries and now I have a housekeeper literally scolding me saying "I need the key to your room because that's the only one we have". I was taken aback! I told her that I felt uncomfortable giving her the only key I had to the room (They didn't give us any extras), she said fine and that she wouldn't clean it. I told her she should go to the front to ask them for a key and she hastily said fine. I continued down the stairs and realized I forgot something, as I was making my way back up I could hear the housekeeper talking about me! She said I told her I thought she was going to steal something from the room. At this point I was in absolute shock. I went to the front lobby to complain and told them I didn't want her in the room at all. I don't even think she cleans the room judging by how the floor was when we arrived. OH & the AC doesn't work! We told them about it on Fri 4/9 and then again on Sat 4/10, they proceeded to ask "Are you sure it's on?". I'm pretty positive we know how to operate an AC unit. Supposedly they sent someone up to fix it Saturday after our 2nd complaint but the room never got below 78 degrees at any one time that we occupied it . When I tell you we didn't stay there I'm not exaggerating. We left our stuff there and came back to get ready for an hour or 2 during the mornings and would leave. All during daylight hours to assure our safety!!!! I cannot believe the experience we had here. DO NOT LET THEM PUT YOU IN ROOM 502!!!!!

Yelp
We stayed at hotel ocean for 2 nights while in Miami and we had an amazing time! The receptionist Vickie was absolutely amazing and provided the best customer service. The rooms are updated and cozy. The bikes are free, and attached to the hotel is a restaurant - food isn't the greatest but it's a nice ambience. I was very appreciative of how smooth the check in process was. They even accommodated an early check in which is rare for boutique hotels. If you want something close to the beach and budget friendly I would recommend Hotel ocean!

Yelp
My sister and I booked a room in this hotel and were trapped for 2 hours in a corridor with a broken elevator and a hard key that didn't work for the room. We had to scream for help for 2 hours. Unfortunetly we left our phones in the room and truly were trapped. After screaming a customer heard us and alerted the hotel. Once they let us out they kicked us out of the hotel because we were distraught! I am currently fighting with them to get my $302 back. I called the fire inspector whom shut that part of the hotel down because he agreed it was a death trap. Do your self a favor book anywhere else this place is a joke. They own Hotel Victor too. Beware if they try to book you in Suite 502 and Suite 504 that is closed due to it being a fire trap!

Brittany A.

Yelp
I stayed at Hotel Ocean over 6/24-6/27. I will say upon arrival it was in a great location. Once we checked into our room it was really clean and looked just like the pictures. The staff was really pleasant and helpful. We ate at the restaurant on the ground level and it was really good too!! The walk to the beach was right across the street and they provided towels and chairs, which was cool. We plan on staying there again this coming Labor Day weekend! Brittany A.

Yelp
In South Beach you never really know what hotel you are booking. You think they are great based on pics only to go for vacation and be disappointed. This hotel DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! I did opt to pay extra for the room that had a balcony. The balcony over looked the ocean and I could hear the wonderful music in the room when I cracked the balcony door. What I really liked was that the customer service I revived from the front desk lady who was training someone , was top notch. She truly made me feel as though I was a guest at her house. Another awesome detail is they offer beach chairs. No need to pay brooks brothers. Grab your chair and head to the front of the beach!! I loved it. Just a side note, they are in the mist of upgrading all the rooms. When you book make sure you get an updated room or ask for one with a balcony.
google avatar

Nicole P.

Yelp
Pros - friendly staff - location - adjacent from the beach - clean rooms - they offer beach chairs Cons - music doesn't stop until about 3-4 AM - limited towels - some items in bathroom were broken - sink drainage issues - $100 damage fee hold for each person in the room I stayed at this hotel during my vacation in Miami. I thoroughly enjoyed myself despite the cons . During my stay, I did see that the hotel is undergoing renovations which is good. This hotel has a lot of potential and again the staff was very friendly, I felt at home.

Olivia H.

Yelp
Do not stay here. The only good part of this hotel is the location. The rooms are filthy, my feet turned black from dirt after walking barefoot around my room. They play extremely loud music until very late at night and the rooms are not soundproof so you can hear everything. People who work at the hotel are scammers. My mom and I were told multiple times that food/drink items were either discounted and or buy one get one free and then we were charged double the price. I also got violently ill directly after eating food from their restaurant. The "breakfast" they mention consists of a small table with a few apples and oranges and stale pastry's. This place is a dump and should be out of business. Spend your money elsewhere. We could not wait to go home after this horrible experience.
google avatar

Alex W.

Yelp
Awesome hotel if you don't need to sleep, otherwise it's a nightmare. Constant loud music and screaming, 0 sound proofing in the room. We had originally chosen another hotel further from the beach, but got moved here as our original hotel was under renovations. The location of this hotel is convenient, but it's right on top of a bar that will keep you awake all night.
google avatar

Nathan M.

Yelp
The room was loud and the front desk went out of their way to be unnecessarily rude and downright hostile. Nice location, but I would have to recommend against staying there.
google avatar

Kandis N.

Yelp
We only needed a place to stay overnight to catch a cruise in the morning. This hotel is probably not the place you want to stay at if you want luxury. It's fine for sleeping only. It was slightly confusing to find the entrance, but a show was going on, blocking the terrace where the entrance was, so one of the restaurant staff took us another way. Check in was easy. The pictures don't reflect the rooms. The room is quite literally a king sized bed, a decorative table under the TV, and a desk with a chair. The bathrooms do look like the pictures. Very roomy and upgraded. Only con would be that the bathroom fixtures are not secured. The toilet paper roll fixture fell off when I pulled the paper lol, And the towel rack fell off when I was grabbing the towel. Other than that, the location is great. Beach across the street, restaurants everywhere. Can't complain about that at all! There was live music downstairs that you could hear in the room, but it's not as bad as other reviews say. We booked this hotel through hopper. I recommend it if you're not someone who expects the best, but just wants a clean comfortable place to stay.

Ahmed E.

Yelp
This hotel is at a great location, right on ocean drive, across the street from the beach. It has some nice amenities like free wifi, beach towels and beach chairs, as well as bikes that you can check out for 2 hours at a time. They have free breakfast, but the food doesn't look appetizing and the serving dishes look dirty ...which leads me into the negatives about this hotel. Although the room is nice and modern, it seems dirty. The cleaning staff doesn't do a good job cleaning and one of our un-used towels had a stain on it. Cleanliness is key in hotels and this one is not clean.

Yelp
Spouse and I travel a lot and this takes the cake for worst customer service by far. We arrived only to be "welcomed" by a guy who clearly was annoyed that we showed up. He kept calling my husband "bro" in a manner that made you know he was using it to be rude. He was upset that when he gave my hubby back his credit card that my hubby put it in his wallet. The guy got ticked and said " if you didn't want to use the credit card why did you bring it out...bro?!" We had no idea what he was upset about as we had just given it to him and he gave it back AFTER sliding it so my hubby thought it was safe to put away. Well, apparently there were 3 other charges that the hotel charges that the card needs to be slid again for. This could have been an easy fix by letting us know to begin with that the process was. The guy was upset at every transaction, at every paper we had to sign and Lord forbid my husband had a question, the guy just about lost it. I wanted to cancel the whole room all together and book somewhere else but my spouse was tired and just wanted to rest. the room we booked was to have an ocean view... we had a view of the roof of their building with a sliver of an ocean view if you arched over the balcony to see. The other side was a pool that was partially drained with green mosquito infested water which meant all day and all night bugs were constantly in our room. The room was "cleaned" but it was far from clean with a musty moldy smell, mold in the restroom and just all around dirty. This was a horrible stay and I couldn't believe a place like this is still in business. Save your self the anxiety, rudeness and bad night and just book elsewhere.
google avatar

Hellitz R.

Yelp
Check in process was easy and the staff were very friendly. We got lucky and found a parking spot on the street right in front of the hotel, $4.00 an hour and the meter stops running at 2:45AM. The hotel is right in front a restaurant with live entertainment and walking distance to everything else you may want. There's a service fee of $17.00 that I assume is for the beach towels and chairs you can use. No microwave, (anywhere), cups, or iron. This is the perfect hotel if you want to spend the day on the beach, just steps away from the ocean.

Yelp
Awful awful hotel--DO NOT STAY HERE. I purchased a two night stay through groupon. Although the room itself was nice--clearly recently redone--there we no amenities, the entire reception was under construction and difficult to find, and the staff was beyond rude. In particular, one lady rudely called our room right at 11 to bark at us that check out was at 11. We quickly apologized and explained that it was an oversight on our part and that we would be out in 20 minutes or sooner. She started yelling that was unacceptable and that we had "signed a paper saying check out was at 11!" Again, I explained that we would be out as quickly as possible and happy to pay any late check out fee, but she continued to be rude and threatening, telling us to get out. I had to hang up the phone. We quickly gathered our things and headed to the reception. When I started to tell her how rude and unwelcome her treatment of us had been, she started yelling and didn't want me to speak. She kept waving her hands at me and threatening to call the police. My boyfriend asked for her name so we could file an official complaint with hotel management, but she refused to give him her name. I spent over an hour trying to get in contact with hotel management but everyone kept passing the buck. To be fair, the hotel parent group, Victor Hotels, had very accommodating and competent staff, that were very gracious on the phone. However it is clear that Hotel Ocean is a shitty, poorly run hostel trying to pass as a high-end beach front property. Do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs, unless you want your vacation ruined as well.

Yelp
So I lucked out and somehow ended up with a 2-day work trip to Miami. Since the meeting itself was fairly short (2-hours), I thought I might as well bring my puppy with me and enjoy the beach. I found this hotel completely by accident while searching for pet-friendly hotels in the area. Their website looked clean, the rooms looked enormous, and the rates weren't too bad for being on Ocean Drive, right across the street from South Beach. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised that the rooms ARE humongous and completely renovated just like they looked on the website. My "Ocean View" room, which meant that it was facing the cafe downstairs but you could still catch a view of the ocean if you looked out the window at the right angle, had all hardwood floors, huge king size bed, a shower separate from the full bath, a living room, 2 flat-screen tv's, and an actual bar area that could seat 4! For $150 after tax on a Monday night, this has to be the best hotel deal I have found yet from all my travels. As an added bonus, my 3lb puppy sat quietly in my purse when I checked in and was really well-behaved the entire time so front desk didn't even know I had a pet with me! This saved me $55/night, which I thought was fair because Yorkies don't shed or smell and she is completely potty trained to go on the puppy pad I put in the bathroom...I later snuck her on to her first beach experience, where she proceeded to dig a hole in my shadow to hide from the heat, lol.

Yelp
I stayed here for a last minute NYE trip and must say it was a pleasure! The service was immediately welcoming on all ends. The staff went over and beyond to make sure I felt welcome and comfortable. The view from my room was amazing! The room is beautiful...the bathroom was beautiful, the place isn't new but it's part of its charm in my opinion. With pleasant sounds from below and views of the ocean. I came expecting noise but have to say it was pleasant more than bothersome. The music/entertainment is timed in a great way that you are getting ready for your evening or wrapping it up. The towels and chairs to the beach are a major plus. A couple blocks down you have access to their sister hotels pools and bike (dope addition. I will for sure have it on my Come Back to list.

Yelp
So happy I booked this hotel. The gentleman at the front desk for very nice and helpful. I stayed at one of the rooms that was just remodel and it's completely gorgeous. Great space for two and the design was very elegant. Bathroom is huge and with a lot of light coming in from the outside. None of the rooms have a balcony at the front showing you the ocean. You get a window with a view and it's a nice view. You get a balcony with the view of the back of the hotel. No breakfast. You pay a resort fee which includes towels and chairs for the beach. This hotel is not for a family stay, because there is loud music all night and threw the day. Great spot around everything you could want in south beach. Great price especially with how expensive south beach is. Cleaning staff is very nice as well.

Yelp
We booked and pay for a room with balcony and ocean view for the honeymoon in advance. When we came a receptionist told us that a manager changed our room for a simple room without a balcony and with a view of the wall. I was very, very disappointed and frustrated since it was our honeymoon. Also, I called in advance asked about parking and nobody did not tell me that they do not have parking and they have valey for 45$ for a day, it's awful service. And the worst thing that the hotel located in the territory of the restaurant with very loud music till 3 a,m. which does not give to sleep at all. The terrible hotel does not advise at all.

Yelp
PARTY ANIMAL HOTEL! Bring your party attitude. There's loud music in the courtyard at night. If your room faces the courtyard (about half the rooms do) you don't have to go downstairs, the music will blasting thru the walls into your room. Don't expect to sleep until about 1:30am when the place finally clears out. When I expressed my dissatisfaction that I was put in a room so close to the noise without the staff indicating anything about it, I was told that I should have read the reviews on the internet. So I will make it my personal mission to make sure anyone who reads a review about this place on ANY site that, it is clear; IT'S A NOISY HOTEL.

Yelp
I just came back from South Beach and stayed here. I must admit I wasn't impressed with the ocean view suite (our view was the courtyard of the hotel) our shower caddy was filthy and the shower seemed to have mold in the corners. The furniture wasn't that great either it looked like it was purchased at Ikea. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star rating is the staff was extremely helpful and nice, the location of the hotel was perfect. right in the middle of everything within walking distance. The hotel bar was great, both Bruno and Mario were amazing. I dislike fruity drinks and they both created drinks to suit my taste buds. Mario makes a delicious blackberry martini while Bruno makes an outstanding Pomegranate martini. You need to try both. overall it was ok and I would stay here again.

Yelp
Probably the worst experience I've ever had. I travel a lot and this really took the cake for worst customer service. The lady at the desk was instantly rude. Check in is at 3 and we arrived around noon then she rudely told us we won't get a room till 8! After complaining we finally got a room and the keys for the door didn't even work! They had to have a electrical guy come by for us! There's no storage space just one giant bed in a room and that's all to it. Horrible I wouldn't even send my dog here. Never coming back. The whole place just looks dirty and horribly put together. 1 star is generous for this establishment honestly.

Yelp
Unimaginative name aside, this hotel wasn't that bad. Proceed with this review knowing that this is more of a three-and-a-half and not three star rating. Here's why. First, the good: - Location, location, location! It's right on Ocean Drive a couple blocks down from the club scene but still right in the middle of everything. The beach is across the street (Hence, the name?) and, as another reviewer noted, there are beach towels and chairs available. Bonus point: Starbucks is a five minute walk away. - Price. My friends and I booked four nights in a two bedroom suite in July for under $1000. - Friendly staff. The front desk was mostly run by people in their 20's, but for the most part they were helpful and knowledgeable of the area. The bad? - Location! [Yea, yea, contradicts the above. Read on...] Every night there is a performance downstairs with LOUD live music and dancing. It wouldn't have been too bad if the rooms were more soundproofed. - Be weary of the alley behind the hotel. Now, this isn't really the hotel's fault, but that little strip smells putrid. Imagine: garbage, human waste, food scraps, and other mystery scents heated to a toasty and humid 95 degrees. - Paltry supplies in the rooms. For a two bedroom suite, I found that the towel, toilet paper and tissue situation were lacking. Calls for extra seemed to be left unnoticed (though eventually the stuff was delivered). - It may just be a characteristic of the room I was in, but there was no TV in the living room, but one in each bedroom. Bad idea for groups sharing rooms where half wants to sleep and half wants to watch a "Jersey Shore" marathon. :( Wasn't bad, wasn't outstanding, but I wouldn't mind staying here again if the price were right.

Yelp
The location is central on Ocean Drive. Perfect beach access...the hotel has beautiful art deco architecture and has been nicely updated to a very modern style. Unfortunately, the bed is the most uncomfortable and cheap feeling bed i have ever slept in. The courtyard, which most rooms overlook has live and loud music until midnight or one every evening. The noise combined with this rock hard, creaky sounding bed will keep anyone awake. Love Miami beach but this is the least restful place to stay.

Yelp
Last minute booking on Ocean Drive - Yes Please! My husband and I had initially decided to visit Orlando but decided to skip for more fun in Miami. We arrived in Miami around 8pm and I booked this hotel from my phone as we were driving to Miami from West Palm Beach - and it was a fantastic choice. This hotel is pet friend and is directly across the street from "South Beach". Hotel Ocean has a beautiful "patio", a fantastic Italian restaurant out front, and offers bike rentals, orange juice and cookies. Our room was on the third floor and we could see the ocean from the window. The bathroom was gorgeous with a frame-less shower and a large shower head, it great to unwind after a long day of shopping and hanging out on the beach. The hotel even let us use our hookah out on their patio. I absolutely adore the hotel and staff!

Yelp
**2 stars only for renovated room compared to other side of building** normal check in is 4pm but when I made the reservation I told them my flight would get in at noon and I would like an early check in option so she said just ask at the front desk. When I got in there was no one at the front desk which is a small 1 person desk. Other guests credit card information is just sitting there, a purse was there and book keeping information for the hotel. I called the 800 number and all they could do was call the hotel phone which was in front of me with no one working there to answer it. After 30 minutes a lady showed up saying she could not accept my card because it did not have a chip. My bank does not have chipped debit cards and has no intention on it. She had to call the supervisor to approve my $17 "resort fee" THERE ARE NO AMENITIES. Once we got in the room we thought it was ok. Nothing great about it and for the price I am on the 3rd floor with a tree in my "ocean view" in room 301. The music from the bar is loud and the windows are not sound proof and neither are the doors. I hear my TV from the outside of the room down the hall and it was not set to loud. Me and my boyfriend got off a flight and wanted to shower before lunch then we showered again before we took a nap and the owner says "I don't know if I can give you guys more towels. Didn't u just check in today"? Wow I didn't know I had a max on how many showers or towels I could use in a 24 hour stay! This is humid, sandy Miami Beach! I should be able to shower how ever many times I please! I will not be back. And I don't recommend people taking more than 1 shower per day if you're traveling and going to the beach.

Yelp
Good location if you want to be in the heart of the buzz of Ocean Drive. What I liked about the location was the hotel itself is set back from the curb so the noise you'd typically get from a hotel on Ocean Drive was decreased. Can't ask for much when staying in South Beach. Most of these art deco hotels have small rooms; you're paying the most for the location. Surprisingly, the room was quite large and so was the bathroom, definitely bigger than the other hotels I've gotten in the same area - Chesterfield, King & Grove, Blue Moon. The room was perfectly clean, too. Front desk staff was friendly. We arrived early and the room wasn't ready so we left our bags in their back office and went to eat. Lots of complimentary amenities that we didn't get to experience, but nice to have that option. For the right price (~$200), I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Yelp
We loved it here. They have large and spacious art deco rooms, with huge balconies with fantastic views of the ocean. They have complementary bikes for use, folding chairs, and towels and 24 hour snacks and beverage. The staff is amazing, especially Janina, who"s from Berlin. Everyone was beyond helpful. They even carried our bags for us to the bus stop. I really can't say enough positive things about the accommodations and staff. In the room we also had a huge tub and a separate shower. Classic art deco beauty. Wondering about the pool? They have a deal with breakwater hotel and we got to use it. The pool is open from dusk to dawn. This hotel is central to everything. It made our stay that much more amazing!

Yelp
Booked a regular suite and were upgraded to the penthouse . The penthouse itself was ok . But Beautiful view. Absolutely loved it . Excellent location, right in the middle of the strip. Very nice restaurant attached to the hotel which has live music. Good food. Can get loud in the room at night.... But then you re not supposed to be holed up in the room !! Absolutely loved the place. Will return in the future to this place !!

Yelp
I fell in love with this place. Discrete non ostentatious, off the street primo location- the staff is very nice as well. Stay here PLEASE. Also they do provide beach chairs and beach towels. Note of caution - just don't eat at the restaurant downstairs! It's a tourist trap, among several others on this street. You have been warned.

Yelp
My husbnd and I stayed at this property over this past weekend to celebrate our Anniversary. Property is in a good location on Ocean Drive. All the staff is GREAT. My issue with this property is that it shouldn't be booking the non updated side. All the rooms on the "modernized" side were taken so we couldn't switch. The elevator needs work and it smells like mold as did the room we were in which was on a slant!! The bathrooms are so old and our sink was cracked badly!! The HOT water doesn't really get HOT either. Our room door when closed had a gap at the top so anyone could hear what we were talking about or doing. Their website says "free WiFi" but it's not really free cause it's included in the "resort fees". Overall we still enjoyed our weekend but we'd never stay at this property again!!

Yelp
What VictorHotelsUSA is currently doing in the midst of the covid19 pandemic is absolutely disgusting and criminal. They have cut off absolutely all means of communication to their customers who have paid hundreds of dollars for reservations that can no longer be fulfilled due to the national health crisis. I made a reservation for a deluxe king room for early april. I called a couple days ago to ask what my options were with regards to cancelling or rescheduling my reservation. I clarified at the beginning of the call that the call was being recorded and she acknowledged that was not a problem. I was told that I could cancel and receive a full refund, or that I could receive a credit to be used to book a reservation within the next year with which I would receive a 20% discount. I told her that I had to discuss with the other people involved and would call back with a decision. I asked when the cut off date was to cancel the reservation and receive a full refund and she clarified multiple times that I had until April 7th to cancel and receive a full refund. I called back today and was told I had the wrong number. as I desperately tried to reach out to anyone at victorhotels it became very apparent that they had done everything they could to impede any customers ability to get into contact with them. Hotel Ocean's (305)-672-2579 number has been forwarded to (305)-495-6844 which is answered by a personal voicemail box. Similarly, Casa Victoria Orchid Hotel's (305)-672-4449 number, as well as The villa Casa Casuarina's (786)-485-2200 number have been forwarded to personal voicemail box (305)-898-0805. Hotel victor's number (305)-779-8700 has been forwarded to a poor woman's personal phone number. I spoke with her and she said she had been receiving calls constantly from people looking for hotel victor and that she had no idea why. Lastly, they forwarded Hotel Breakwater's (305)-532-2362 to an in house reservation department for a completely different hotel. The customer service representative was extremely sweet but also very confused as to why she had been receiving calls for the victorhotel locations when they do not serve them or any of their locations. I also sent a message to reservations@victorhotelusa.com and info@victorhotelusa.com. In response I received a message saying "your message couldn't be delivered." The reason listed was an 'unknown to address' because the email address 'no longer exists'. It is as if they have completely shut down EVERYTHING and left their clients hanging....confused and uninformed. It's very obvious that they have gone out of their way to delete all email accounts and forward all phone numbers in an attempt to get away with keeping our money without actually having to correspond with us. It's a very slimy way to handle business and I refuse to let them get away with it. I will be getting in touch with all of the people and businesses that VictorHotels has inconvenienced with these extremely unprofessional practices, as well as the Better Business Bureau. I can guarantee that If I am not able to get in contact with someone very soon regarding the refund that was promised to me, I will be taking legal action. I will be searching for the countless other people encountering this issue to advise them to unite and do the same. And I will be sure to let every single one of my 2.4M subscribers, followers, and viewers know to NEVER do business with VictorsHotel because they are despicable and outlandishly unprofessional in how they handle their business. If covid19 doesn't kill your business, your choices with regards to handling the situation surely will.

Yelp
I never got an opportunity to stay at Hotel Ocean. A family emergency unexpectedly came up. I called and spoke to a female team member and she was empathetic and was able to accommodate my request. Due to this action the next time I am in South Beach and need accommodations I will easily book this property again.

Yelp
I was very hesitant about staying here because the price was just TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE for a Hotel on South Beach. Sometimes pictures that appear on the website are not of the actual hotel. Well to my surprise Everything was as it appeared on line. I was amazed at how beautiful my room was. 7 of us stayed there as we prepared to sail out to The Bahamas. We reserved 3 rooms, a one bedroom suite and 2 two bedroom suites. My entire group raved about how nice the rooms were. Its a great hotel to stay in especially if you like to party. Everything is near by, the beach, clubs, restaurants and shopping boutiques. I was having a terrible day upon my arrival to the hotel and I treated the staff so bad..I acted like a typical diva. Despite my raunchy attitude, the staff, Alexander Pina, Daniel and Harold treated me and my guest like royalty. I will definitely stay here every time I am in the Miami area.

Yelp
It's decent hotel ... very cute but if you get the suite you will hear the elevator go up and down like it's in your room ! Bring ear plugs and you'll be ok ! And it's definitely HAUNTED

Yelp
I was not impressed with this hotel for a number of reasons. My husband's 30th birthday was this weekend, so we decided to split the penthouse cost ($530 after tax for one night) with 5 of our friends. The website said it slept 6 with two day beds and one king, and we figured we could have the one extra person on a couch, because well, it's a penthouse, so I'm sure it has at least one couch, right? We arrive and find one king and four cot beds which don't even have bed skirts on them to cover the dirty and stained box springs. I wanted to head down to the "pool" advertised on the website, and when we called the front desk, they rudely told us "No pool. The ocean is right across the street." I also wanted to make a bean dip for everyone to snack on before going to the bar, but forgot my can opener. When I called down to the front desk to see if they might have one, they (again rudely) told me, "Your friend already asked us, we don't have one. You could come down to the restaurant and ask if want." I'm sorry, but if I'm paying $530 for one night at your hotel, you should go do that for me. With a smile on your face. Lastly, the "city view" is of an alley and dirty rooftops. The ocean view was the only decent thing about this room. Won't be staying here again, that's a promise.

Eric S.

Yelp
Just spent 5 nights at Hotel Ocean and had a great time. Location is great for going out at night, heading to the beach and hitting restaurants. They even have chairs and towels for the beach! Rooms are clean and well kept overall. Shower leaves a little to be desired but works. There us a band that plays in the courtyard at night but they are done before midnight. Then again - why would you go to bed before midnight anyway! Will stay again when I am in the area.
