Hôtel Oceania Clermont-Ferrand

Great stay over the short film festival Had to work in my room for one day and WiFi was poor so was struggling. I needed to focus alone so couldn't sit in the lounge. Staff were always courteous and trying to help but they just need to look at the coverage for the 5th floor and maybe upgrading the broadband and router set up generally? TV was also a bit small with no options to connect or cast. Did have both bbc1 and 2 which was great. Maybe the fancier rooms have better WiFi and tv

The location is perfect, in the center of the city, a 10-minute walk from all good restaurants and shops. The service is very kind and nice; they help with everything you need. The room was very nice and it was cleaned daily.

Stayed here for one night on the drive from Calais to the south. Really nice hotel, staff were lovely and all spoke English, parking was fine underneath the hotel (entrance is just to the left) and the location is good being a short walk to the centre of town. We ate out in town but had a drink at the bar which has an great fish tank to look at. Breakfast was excellent in the morning with a really good range and even had loose leaf tea. Would happily stay here again next time we were passing through.

Exceptionally clean, comfortable and in a great location. Decent breakfast. A beautiful marine fish tank in reception. Can’t fault the hotel itself. It’s our second time here and we’d stay again.||The Underground car park has really steep access ramps, so very low cars might struggle. It is however reassuringly secure. At the moment, the exit route from the car park is dug up but we weren’t notified. It meant driving over very rough ground/stones before exiting across a pedestrian route and cycle way onto a very confusing/poorly signposted one way junction. Not ideal.

The staff was friendly and helpful at all hours. The location is excellent with many food and sight-seeing options nearby. The rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable beds. The spa area was well equipped and clean. There is parking available in a garage below the hotel, which was really convenient and reasonably priced. We will stay here again.

A very well-run hotel, but if you are driving there, please don't hope you can get a space in the hotel garage. Instead, park in the open-air car park across the way some 100 metres away. It saves a lot of hassle!|We had a spacious room with a large ensuite shower room and a glorious view to hills beyond. Dinner and breakfast (not at the same time!) in the restaurant were nicely presented and tasted great. All in all very efficient and a good night's sleep as well.

We only stayed for a night on our way from Paris to Lourdes. The place was clean, room was spacious and the location was very central, but still quiet. Lots of eateries within 5-10 minutes walk. The view was beautiful too. Breakfast spread was standard: mostly pastry, bread, salami ham and cheese.

Hotel oceania was like home away from home. Clean, Serene, and at the heart of town. The hotel has a coffee maker in each room. Microwave on the second and fourth floor of the hotel. There was no fridge in the room, no washing machine within the hotel environment. You have the option to either book with breakfast included or pay 20 euros for breakfast. For an African traveler, Mama Africa restaurant makes a delicious meal. I had jollof rice with plaintain at the restaurant. It was a wonderful experience.

Nice hotel. Modern and clean. Room size is typical to most rooms in France. Well situated within walking distance to Place Jaude. Nice morning breakfast with fresh options. Unfortunately the coffee machine uses powdered milk. The breakfast room has large windows looking out on a yard. There are a couple of particularities. If you wish to iron your clothes, you'll have to go to a common room on the second floor. They have a jacuzzi in the "wellness" room in the gym behind the bar. Driving up to the entrance could be complicated with a tiny driveway well disguised to your right. There are meeting rooms and restaurant. Halfway through writing this review I changed it up to a 4 star when I realized they have many positive points. Breakfast, after four nights here I can give a well researched opinion. The menu doesn't change as with many buffet breakfasts. Bacon and powdered eggs are the standard offerings to American travelers. The local options are pastries and soft boiled eggs, charcuteries cheeses. Fresh and dried fruits accompany the various baguettes

We had various events at this hotel, which was a family dinner pre-wedding and a post-wedding brunch for all our guests. My in-laws also got us a suite here for two nights during our wedding. I had to get past the strange name of this hotel, Oceania, considering that we are in CF, which is hours away from any ocean. Once I did, this place was excellent. It is very conveniently located near the train, and 2 minutes walk from Place de Jaude. They gave us a pre-selected menu for our family dinner, which made it easy for our family to select their meals. And the service was very personalized. The food was incredibly delicious. They even brought us GF desserts since my sis-in-law is also GF. The brunch was out-of-control! There was soooooo much food and it was delicious. They even brought a separate basket for GF pastries. Yes - pastries!! And not just weird, boring sliced bread, which is usually what happens when you have GF brunch requests. The suite was soooo nice! It was huge. There were 2 full bathrooms. One with a spa tub! Unfortunately, the tub was not used because we were always running around doing something. But I really wished I had access to it a few days later after a day of snowboarding. lol. Excellent place for almost anything you need.

Not accommodating. Told us it was unreasonable that our dinner reservation was together at one table, then got upset that someone forgot their room key. Food is average and not worth worth the fight. Pretty much go anywhere else in town.

My family booked through Expedia. It was a non-refundable, no cancel or change. Unfortunately, 1 of our party came down with a serious, long term illness and is unable to travel for the foreseeable future. We explained that we could get a Dr. note and it was still 2 months before our stay there. Expedia contacted them and they were too bad, no refund. We have a good reason for our full refund.
