I recently visited Hotel Odhen’s in Kannur for lunch, and it’s easy to see why locals and visitors alike rave about this place! The restaurant has a down-to-earth vibe — nothing fancy, just honest, flavorful food that speaks for itself.
The seafood here is the star fresh, tasty, and authentically Kerala-style. The fish fry, prawns, clams, and other coastal delights were all well-seasoned and cooked perfectly, keeping that classic Malabar flavor in every bite. Portions are generous, and the banana leaf lunch with rice, curry, thoran and sides feels very traditional and satisfying.
Service is prompt even when the place is buzzing (which it often is), and staff are friendly and efficient. Just be prepared: it gets crowded during lunch hours, and seating can be tight — sometimes you might have to share a table with others or wait a bit for a spot.
Overall, if you love authentic Kerala seafood and value for money, this is one of Kannur’s must-visit lunch spots. Not the place for fine dining vibes, but absolutely worth it for the food and experience!
Don't miss the 'Payasam' a tasty sweet keer.
