This hotel is a nightmare, literally. If you want a good night sleep, go somewhere else. If you are an all-night movie watcher with loud volume available, and sleep is unimportant, this is the place for you. The walls are thin, the noise of adjoining rooms is everywhere, and the other guests are up all night evey night, slamming doors, talking loud and running up and down the hall till over 0200 every night. We stayed 4 miserable nights. We called and complained on the 2nd and third nights, but nothing happened to change the circumstances. This was our second trip where we stayed in this hotel and it was the same last time. We stayed 2 nights last summer, but we thought we'd give it a second chance, thinking it would be different. We will not stay here again and will gladly pay a little more for a real hotel that cares about all guests and respects enforcement of policies. It was like living in the book Animal Farm. Some are more equal than others, and we are the others. More than likely, you will be too.

The hotel is in a good location. All kinds of transportation options, restaurants, shopping and sights. It is a very large and sprawling hotel. We stayed 2 non-continuous nights. Desk staff all business. I would not call them friendly but they were not rude by any means. Both stays we were in suites which I did not think I had booked. Only too bad that we weren't there long enough to take advantage. The rooms were a bit worn but comfortable. Most hotels we stayed in Russian provided bottled water or accessible water coolers. This hotel provide one bottle per guest at check in. That's all. There was a hot pot for coffee & tea, nice robes and slippers. Bathroom was big but shower was sprayed all over. One night we were in the very last room on the floor. Thought we would never get there. View from the rooms were an inside of the building. Nothing to write about but we were not there long enough for it to matter. Breakfast was pretty disappointing. There were lots of tours groups and the dining room looked like it had been ransacked when we arrived. The staff appeared to try and keep up but they seemed demoralized. There was slim pickings. Most of thecoffee machines were either or such a line we gave up. They need to solve that problem if they are going to have massive numbers of tour groups. Since we were leaving in the wee hours of the morning, we did not book a room with breakfast the last day. We booked & paid for transportation to the airport with the concierge. Our driver was on time and we had an easy trip to the airport. ||empty or broken

We had a suite of 80m2 at very affordable cost for family of 4. It was clean and tidy and even had a piano. Two extra beds were literally with 5cm mattress only. We asked for double mattress and got it. The other beds could also need new mattresses. Bathroom old fashioned with shower curtain. Big surprise that the aircondition system is the best I ever experienced. Breakfast was simple but with basics. Get there early because when breakfast ends it really ends and you have to leave the breakfast room. All in al ok but nothing special and fair value for money.

I am staying here right now and first impressions it looked good from the outside and the lobby, but when me and my family were checking in it took so long. The rooms have a nice view. When me and my family went to eat breakfast a lady who worked there was utterly rude, so we went into the city and found Cake & Breakefast it was better than the hotels breakfast with a reasonabol price. After me and my family came back one of our rooms had not been cleaned, the bin wasn't even taken out and changed and we got no towels. I would rather spend more on a hotel that can treat me and my family well and that can do their jobs right.

Pros: The location is central. Very convenient. Close to the train station. Nice restaurants/cafes all around. A porter (an older man) with a fantastic personality deserves five stars! The rooms were clean (and bathroom as well).||Cons: The staff at the reception were not hospitable at all. Not helpful and with an attitude problem. To receive a smile - definitely was not happening. Main restaurant at the hotel - was not impressed. Dirty table clothes. The waiters tend to talk on their cell phones and/or texting while meandering around the floor while the clients are sitting at the table with dirty table clothes. In addition, I traveled with my mother who is not a young woman and we were given a very dim room overlooking some old pipes (that was the beautiful view). In addition, the room was so far away that we literally got lost looking for it. Of course, after I made a fuss at the reception (with rude staff), we were given a MUCH better room and closer to the elevator! Furthermore, the beds were not comfortable (after one day of stay - both of us had a backache). Shower had a low water pressure.

I was here with a large group for a conference and while I expected little, the hotel greatly surpassed my expectations. It is clearly equipped for many guests (the hallways seemed to go on forever) and a very businesslike hotel. The staff was friendly and efficient, the rooms comfortable and clean (although not very modern), and the breakfast offered both Russian and more European options. One of the best aspects of the hotel was its location right on Nevsky Prospect, which meant there were plenty of shops and restaurants nearby and the metro was visible from our window. My only issue was that the wifi did not work particularly well, but I expected this from the beginning so I had purchased a data package. Overall, a great experience!

An old fashioned, but clean hotel. Was staying here for 4 days. We were sight seeing, so basically we just ate our breakfast and got back to our room for sleeping in the evening. For this, it was an "okay" hotel. The breakfast is not the best, but was also acceptable. The location is good.||In the corridors there was always somebody cleaning, so they pay attention to cleanliness. We stayed there during the football WorldCup and unfortunately we got very noisy neighbours, so I cannot comment how loud this place is during a general period. ||I've seen on tripadvisor some horrible pictures about rooms, but our room was luckily in not that bad condition. The linen were clean and beds were comfortable enough.

It is a nice Heritage hotel, conveniently located at the Centre of the city, cross road of Vevsky Prospekt. It is close to the Moskowsky Train station, metro station n most convenient to take trams n buses. A nice bakery, coffee shop, liquor shop n lots of places to eat are 2min walk from the hotel. Galleria mall is across the crossing.|The rooms are spacious but a little run down n uninspiring. There is slackness on the room cleaning. Our room would get cleaned by 5 in the evening n had to constantly remind the staff for tea/coffee sachets. The view from the window is of the street opposite n can keep one occupied.|I did not visit the in house bakery but the bakery items kept in the breakfast buffet were much below average for a gud hotel.|The breakfast has a large spread but very tepid dishes. Little variety for vegetarians. |The hotel hosts large tourist groups n is mostly overcrowded. It is convenient for Business travellers as well.|Nothing very luxurious or enjoyable about the place.
