Hotel Okura Manila at Newport World Resorts (Manila, Metro Manila) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The Okura hotel group’s Manila offering is central to the action in all senses of the phrase: literally across the street from the airport, and also situated within Newport World Resorts, a retail and entertainment complex with a staggering array of diversions. Upscale Japanese elegance infuses public spaces, most notably on the rooftop, which boasts a bar, heated pool, Zen garden, and spa area. Rooms are sleek and contemporary with cityscape views, and some come with hinoki wooden tubs." - Tablet Hotels

Highly recommend this hotel. The service turned out to be excellent and the hotel property is amazing. The room was luxuriously large and the bathroom was beautiful with modern electronics. We overlooked the airport with a beautiful view and there was no noise at all. Modern built and solid windows that did an incredible job of keeping it quiet. When we checked out, the staff was courteous and gave our daughter a small gift of an Okura bear which she loved. It was perfect timing because she was coming down with the sniffles. Highly recommend this hotel

Our recent stay at this hotel was deeply disappointing and, quite frankly, the worst experience we’ve ever had in a supposed 5-star hotel. Despite putting a Do Not Disturb sign on our door, we were still disturbed in the middle of the night—an unacceptable lapse in guest privacy and basic protocol. The room itself had a noticeable smell of mold, which immediately set a negative tone. Only one yukata was provided, which clearly indicated that the room was not prepared properly before our arrival. The TV was not set up correctly upon check-in, and even after requesting room cleaning, we still had to follow up because nothing happened the first time. These issues reflect a lack of attention to detail, something you would never expect from a hotel claiming a 5-star rating. In general, most of the staff seemed to be doing the bare minimum, lacking proactiveness and the level of hospitality expected at this price point. The only exceptions were the reception staff and a few security guards, who were the only ones that provided service that resembled 5-star standards. Even the breakfast buffet was below average, offering limited selections and failing to justify the hotel’s rating. On top of that, the so-called heated pool was not heated at all, making it uncomfortable. To summarize, this is undeniably the worst 5-star hotel we’ve ever stayed in. The experience—from room preparation to service quality and amenities—did not meet even basic expectations. We left dissatisfied and cannot recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a genuine 5-star experience.

Spacious rooms (slept so well on the ultra comfortable bed) and the bathroom was amazing (high tech Japanese toilets and great shower). Loved the breakfast and the location was ideal for us! Only thing I didn’t like was the windows need cleaning! Will come back next visit to Manila.

Staff is super attentive and helpful about everything you do, even if we didn't book directly at the website. I arrived 30 minutes before check-in and they let me check-in early. They also allowed late check out at around 1pm. Room was impeccably clean and well maintained. Love love love the cypress bath tub. Breakfast isn't that extensive but everything we tasted was really good, compared to other hotels having such a big spread but some food items tasting bleh. If one thing, service of the afternoon tea we ordered was a bit slow (ordered 3pm, arrived around 3:45pm) but everything was still really good. In fact the tastiest afternoon tea set I've tried at a hotel (which I regularly do 😅) And they replaced our tea since it got cold already. Overall a really great experience, and we plan to return for a longer stay sometime next year.

One of the best hotels our family has stayed in! Everything was so elegant and staff was super attentive. We stayed for a layover but would go again next time for a few nights to indulge in the atmosphere and food.

Contemporary hotel with all the mod cons. Our particular room had a Japanese toilet and traditional Japanese bath with separate shower. A very comfortable room - plenty of space to move around, if not more! The only touch we’d add is having drinks / snacks service available in the lobby area whilst waiting to check in. However, we managed to find a nearby Starbucks which was a short walk and connected to the mall. The pool was manned and not busy so you could enjoy a quiet swim. Room inc buffet breakfast or room service for early departure. Close to MNL airport.

The room and bathroom were very spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable, the service was thoughtful and attentive, and the food at the restaurant and the breakfast were delicious. I also loved the fact that it was not noisy and crowded, giving off very Japanese zen vibes. It was a bit pricey but all in all I think it was worth it. It was also in a weird location, very near T3 but not near enough that is easily accessible for a senior citizen who has knee problems.
