"The Okura is a midrange hotel with well-sized rooms (a rarity in Japan) and a few niceties like kimonos and a tea ceremony room. The Okura is situated a few minutes’ walk ofSapporo's wooden Clock Tower and the tree-lined and fountain-dotted Odori Park (really a wide street, pleasant for strolling), with the main train station in close proximity. Dining options include the usual Japanese, Chinese, and international restaurants, but the central location means guests are spoiled for choice of food, entertainment, and shopping. Executive level rooms offer better city views. (The nearby JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo is a sister property.)"

Very nice hotel with helpful staff. Good deals can be found, if you look. I got a free upgrade to a nicer king room, which is always a plus. Room had a pay mini-bar in it, but cheaper everything can be found at the Lawson across the street. Definitely worth coming back to again. Also offers bag storage if you need to check out and head to a meeting, but don't feel like carrying your bag with you.

Exceptional staff, it's literally 5 star hospitality. The hotel is dated though and it feels a bit 1960s. The bed is rock hard and the shower isn't very good. My AC does not work at all.

The Hotel Okura was great. We walked in carting 4 bags with snowboard gear. 6 people came right away to take our baggage and help us out. Check in was a breeze and we were shown to our room by the Bellman. The room was great! Nice and spacious full king size bed and a full sized bathroom. We were also treated to a delicious welcome drink in the lobby bar. Nothing but good things to say about this hotel. I wish the service standards in Canada were this high.

Old but well maintained. Staffs are very polite and helpful. Wifi is superb. Breakfast could be better. Seperating into two types of traditional Japanese and Continental does not serve clients well.

Very outdated room, size is big enough, but the room with very strong smoking smell even non-smoking room. Dirt on Wall & Sofa, cleanliness MUST be improved. Very disappointed on this Site, I will say over price n not worth it !!!

Great location and rooms are bigger than average, but smelly because we got a smokers room and hotel is very outdated. For the high price and the brand Okura I would have expected a much higher standard. Two stars to motivate the owners that it is time to upgrade the hotel.

Stayed in 2 different 2 bed rooms and had tremendous variation between them. The first was a non smoking that was small and reeked of stake smoke. The second was large and smelled clean. Both rooms were the same price.

The hotel looks a little dated but is still clean. However the soundproofing is very bad. We could hear people flushing the toilet etc. in the middle of the night and talking along the corridors.

Yelp
The location beats all - its right next to the Odori stop (easy access to mass-transit everywhere), Odori park (awesome in the summer - festivals every weekend), and a quick walk to Sapporo station (to get anywhere else in Hokkaido) The amenities are slightly worn, but not unpleasantly so. The staff is *very* friendly
