Whoever rated this a 4* has clearly never stayed at a 4* hotel. We’ve just returned from a 11 night stay at hotel Ola and it was very disappointing. The hotels location is up a hill in what seems like a residential area. When booking the hotel it was billed as being in Trogir, this is not the case, Trogir is a good 40 min walk away. Outside the hotel is a half built apartment block which is a total eye sore. The only redeeming feature is the view from the bedroom which is spectacular. |The room itself was nice enough but not 4* standard, the cleanliness was bad, spiders webs and dead bugs in the room, dust on most surfaces and the bathroom being in the bedroom itself offers zero privacy. The room has a digital “do not disturb” button, this was ignored by the cleaners who would still enter the room regardless. One day they came into the room, opened the patio doors and left. The doors were open all day and had let countless mosquitos into the room. That night we received multiple bites which left blood on the sheets. Despite asking these to be changed they were left for the entire 11 days. We complained to reception but they couldn’t have cared less. |The hotel has an onsite restaurant which we used for breakfast only as this was included, the breakfast was ok, mainly catered to Western European guests with meats and cheese and different breads. The hot option was eggs with a single sausage or pancakes, the cook ( female, dark hair and glasses) had a real bad attitude, questioning why we had ordered what we did. Just rude. We went in one morning early as we had an excursion booked that day to be shouted at saying we couldn’t have breakfast and only coffee despite the buffet being fully laid out. We went in one evening and after looking at the prices (€10 for two 25ml cokes) we made our excuses and left. |The facilities at the hotel are really bad, there’s an indoor pool which was covered in green mould. The “gym” consisted of two cross trainers and a few weights, the steam room was out of order the entire time we were there so we only used the sauna a couple of times. The upstairs outdoor pool is tiny and freezing, the tiles are all coming off so you can easily cut your feet but the seagulls seemed to like it….next to the pool is the pool bar which is never open, the one time we did manage to get a drink we had to wait about 20 mins to get served and then another 20 mins to pay since the girl on the bar (who was lovely and a credit to this hotel) was also the waitress in the restaurant 4 floors down. Very disappointing bc stay here and definitely wouldn’t recommend.
