Hotel On Devonport

Very disappointing stay. Our room wasn’t ready at check-in, and after being told it would take 15-30 minutes this was ok. However, after 30 minutes we were told to wait another 15–30 minutes without anyone even calling housekeeping to check that the room was being cleaned. We were then told the 2pm check-in time is “just a guideline” and that the room doesn’t need to be ready until 10pm, which is ridiculous. With this attitude from the front desk it makes it feel like it's our fault that the room is not ready on time. The staff also offered no apology and therefore while I have stayed here in the past I would not recommend.

The hotel is conveniently located on the main street of Tauranga close to shops and eateries. The frontage is narrow so it’s easy to miss but it’s spacious inside as it goes back a long way. Our room looked out over the town, not as nice as the restaurant, which has a lovely view out over the bay. We enjoyed our evening meal there, with a nice choice of cocktails, also breakfast. It was very quiet when we were there and the waiter was very sociable. Just behind the hotel you can access the pretty waterside path. It was useful that there’s an underground car park at the hotel though you have to pay extra for it. Nice big comfortable beds!

The service was great, Mariah at the front desk was so kind and helpful. Stayed for one night and it was a very comfortable, clean room. They provide complimentary snacks and water bottles, which was a nice touch. Very close to shops/restaurants - highly recommend the Sichuan restaurant across the road. Would definitely stay again!

Great location, very lovely staff: Maraya was amazing! She welcomed me with her kindness and beautiful smile after my long drive from Auckland. She was helpful and very comforting. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Excellent ,centrally located establishment. With the re opening a little whike ago of the Tauranga Club within the complex , it now offers full restaurant / bar facilities with stunning views of the inner Tauranga harbour. Truely exceptional.

Central city, excellent priced accommodation. |Easy reasonable cost parking|Amazing view from the restaurant /bar area where you are welcome to sit and relax at any time of the day in a lovely friendly atmosphere. |Rooms are lovely, well appointed and clean with extra attention to detail. Loved the makeup remover kits and robes. |Only thing missing for me was no shower cap.

Great location with perfect view, lovely staff, clean and comfy room. During check in, staff was so lovely and welcoming. This Hotel is perfect if you’re traveling with kids 🙂

The hotel is very good, rooms are well appointed. Obviously it is set up for business as there is no breakfast or bar at the weekend.

Stayed here for three nights in april 2018, and it was great! Check-in was super fast and check-out was even faster. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel has a great location right next to a wide selection of restaurants. The room was absolutely perfect! Very spacious with a great bed, a huge closet, secure wifi and a huge bathroom. There is a safe in the room, kitchentools, a microwave and a kettle. The hotel has private parking with access directly into the hotel - this costs $10 pr. night and is well given, so you don't have do drive around looking for a parking space. Besides that; Tauranga is a great city and we enjoyed our stay very much!

I stayed one night on the weekend during a short tour of the North Island. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Everything was pleasant, from the free welcome drink to the comfort and size of the room to the extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. While my stay was for leisure, this would be a great business stay hotel. The room had a large, comfortable desk and was very quiet. There quite an array of restaurants within a five minute walk. All in all, a wonderful experience.
