Hotel on Rivington

Sometimes I like to stay someplace other than my apartment in NYC. I usually do a few nights a year checking out various hotels around NYC just to break the monotony of living in the same, small apartment year round. I would definitely come back to this hotel in the future and recommend it to others. Staff is amazing. I had an issue with my reservation and the staff took care of it. They could have charged me extra, but instead they waived the fee this time. Since it was a mix up in communication, I really appreciate the extra effort by the staff and manager. Views are incredible. Neighborhood (LES) is one of the best for food in NYC. Great place. Highly recommend.

Very good value for the money. Tasteful, minimalist rooms with useable balconies that offer great views from the higher floors. The bathrooms are updated with large soaking tubs. My room was clean, bright and comfortable. The staff are incredible and the surrounding neighborhood is safe and electric with a ton of restaurants, shops and bars.

Just spent a long weekend at the Hotel on Rivington and was so pleased with our stay. The staff was delightful and so pleasant, going above and beyond to help. We arrived early our first day and they checked our bags while we went out to explore. The hotel offers complimentary coffee and tea in the morning and wine in the evenings- such a nice touch. The hotel lobby and restaurant are beautiful and a nice respite from the bustling LES scene. We didn't eat at the restaurant or enjoy the bar, but it's nice to have both inside your hotel should you want to take advantage. We had a corner room with wrap around windows- the room was HUGE by NYC standards and newly updated. The bed was super comfy, sheets supple and pillows comfy. Some reviewers commented on the noise. Yes there is noise and it gets hoping on the weekend, but be reminded you are staying at one of the most happening areas on the Lower East Side so of course there's going to be noise. Just download the White Noise app and play it off your phone at night- you won't hear a thing.

We spent two nights here and loved the location, room with an absolutely incredible view, cleanliness and helpful staff at the front desk. But the hotel has been renovated cheaply with less than great workmanship- the toilet takes multiple flushes, the light switches in the bathroom (those you press) take multiple tries to work, the painting in the room has sloppy edges, there are no towel racks in the bathroom, the Tv is weirdly off center from the bed, the hallway to the elevator is slightly creepy, the elevator is completely shabby, and the hallways to our room were less than inviting, all with odd artwork.

As a woman who likes to travel, I do NOT recommend this hotel. The first room we stayed in had a broken AC unit, no working phone, and loose outlets, which they only accommodated with “chocolate and wine” we eventually were able to get a different room which then had falling tiles coming out of the shower with mildew in the shower head… absolutely DISGUSTING. You’re basically paying to help them manage the rent, because it definitely doesn’t go into the hospitality and quality of hotel upkeep

They didn’t repair the lights after multiple complaints. I stayed for 6 nights and 7 days. They refused extended checkout and have a fee of $75.00 for 1 additional hour which is sort of disappointing when someone stays for a week. Breakfast boring. Pretty much same everyday and the bagels are so chewy. No shower curtains. Pretty awkward. 11th floor room window didn’t close. Knobs broken. One of lifts often didn’t work.

Disgusting... I'm so disappointed. There were poop stains in the toilet, a lot of them. I thought they weren't removable since the hotel looks very old, but the next day, after housekeeping, they were partially removed. When someone was taking a shower, my room was covered with humidity, and I could hear everything. The furniture is very old and worn down. The sink was blocked, the water wouldn't go down, and there were hairs stuck in it for a very long time. Only extremely hot water comes out from the shower and bathtub. I was so tired after a long flight that I couldn't be bothered to complain, so I stayed there one night. The next day, I had an early plan, so I left the hotel and came back after a long day, asking to change rooms. There were no more rooms available in the category I booked, so I had to downgrade from the high floor with a bathtub to the low floor without one. I was so tired that I accepted it. I'm so mad. I just wanted to sleep in a clean room, but even this room is dirty. I found a mix of orange hairs in the sink, and the sink area is dirty. It's already very late at night, so I don't want to change rooms again, but I'm really upset and disgusted. I don't usually write reviews, but I'm really upset and disgusted at 1 am now, so I'm writing this hoping I can forget how dirty it is and leave tomorrow morning

The best part was the amazing service at the front desk. Really lovely people. The attached restaurant as well. ||Pretty good hotel. Pretty simple/ standard. The lobby and restaurant were much nicer than the room.
