Hotel One Shot Recoletos

This hotel is great. The location is perfect on a quiet street with quick access to so many great neighborhoods. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My favorite part is that they have an early check in option (for a fee and if available) - a perfect option when arriving from the USA in the morning and need a shower. All hotels should offer this. The rooms are stylish and clean. It doesn’t have a grand lobby or beautiful elevators - but it’s cute and has all I need! I’ll be back on my next trip to Madrid.

Quiet hotel located in the perfect neighborhood.. close to so many places in the heart of Madrid or just a short metro ride away. The continental breakfast was delicious and far exceeded our expectations. Get a room with a balcony, we had lovely views of the street. We will definitely stay here again.

Great location , large room, comfy bed and pillow. Shame about how rude are some of the staff. I ask to pickup the luggage which was given before the check in and literally the young Receptionst rolled her eyes in my face. Just Wow . Breakfast closed at 11 am . My friend ask for a coffe at 11am nothing else and they refused . My other friend was told to finish their breakfast fast since it was 11.10am and they had to clean . Shame for a 4 star hotel.

I travel from New York to Madrid several times per year and I've stayed at OneShot Recoletos many times. The location of the hotel is ideal - in Salamanca neighborhood but only 10 min walk to Sol or Museums. Very close to several metro stops as well. If you are coming from Barajas the airport bus stop is only about a 5 min walk, although I usually take an Uber if I have luggage. Front desk staff are very friendly and accommodating; special thanks to Beatriz and Alice for helping with a few items during this last trip.

Pros - great location Cons - terrible first impression. Room aircon was broken and took hours to change rooms, WiFi code was wrong and couldn’t call reception so had to go down for a new code. After we changed rooms aircon still isn’t the best and so if you like to return to a cold room in 36 degree weather then this probably isn’t the hotel for you. Breakfast was below average (limited choices). Very small rooms.

I spent two nights at this hotel with my sons. Room was a good size and extremely clean. We had a room with a balcony and had a nice view of the street. Nice distance from our activities/tours. Walking distance from restaurants. Staff was friendly and answered all my questions. The breakfast was available till 11am.

We had a great time staying at Hotel One Shot Recoletos in Salamanca district of Madrid. I was travelling with my sister and hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance from everything: shops, restaurants, metro station and etc. We pretty much walked everywhere as Madrid is absolutely beautiful on a good day. The hotel staff was helpful when we needed some assistance and overall we had a smooth stay. The only downside would be the size of the room and the fact that there was no water left for us on the three days that we stayed there. I have stayed in many different hotels around Europe of the same rank and there is always a bottle of water in the suit. Otherwise, it is worth the price and Thanks again, would definitely return!

I visited in late December and stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions during this trip. I think that it is worth spending just a bit more to get a slightly nicer room option. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The water pressure is just about the best I’ve ever seen at a hotel. We had a special request for the hotel ahead of our trip and they accommodated us wonderfully. The staff are friendly, proficient in English and effective in answering questions. The hotel is located close to train and metro stations. Many of the tourist locations are accessible by walking as well.

Beautiful stairwell. Art adorns many walls here, wonderful stay! Room is decent size. Shy on tissue paper but long on many other in room amenities like large TV (recessed into wall, nice touch), large waterfall showerhead, toothbrushes in room, etc. Would stay again, great value hotel within walking distance of nearly everything Madrid!

This hotel is exactly what we had hoped it would be, and not one thing more. What we were hoping for was a reasonably clean and comfortable place to stay that was near all the happenings in Madrid. I would most certainly recommend this place to people as long as their expectations are in line with what this place offers. Just a couple of blocks from the main thoroughfares, it's close to just about everything, but not smack in the middle of it all. The hotel touts itself--at the entrance anyway--as artistic and inspiring, and it definitely has some of that going for it; it's interesting and just a little different from the norm, but not to the point where you think it's weird or want to roll your eyes. It doesn't offer much in the way of room service except for ridiculously priced drinks and snack-foods, but I don't really want to hold that against it. There are some great restaurants, cafes, and even a tea house just down the street, but that would probably be true about any place here in Madrid. Having booked this place through Expedia, I wasn't expecting having to call and confirm our reservation, and I only realized this after I had been going through everything to make sure that I hadn't missed anything. It was a little annoying that no email was provided by Expedia or by the hotel itself on its own website, which meant I had to make a ten dollar, international phone call. The room itself is not large, but definitely spacious enough for two people to not feel cramped. The bathroom and amenities were clean and in working order, though most certainly not luxurious--for 170 bucks a night it's exactly what we expected. What we hadn't expected was the weird gurgling sound the toilet constantly made or being able to hear a lot of what was going on in the hall and even in other rooms. It isn't a very large hotel and offers virtually nothing in terms of the view, but we weren't exactly planning on spending a lot of time in the room anyway. We needed a place to sleep, a place to shower, a place to recharge our phones/laptops, and a place to connect to the internet; that's exactly what we got. If that's what you're looking for, then you may have found your place.

Complete lack of human compassion and customer service. Due to losing our passports in London, we missed our flight to Barcelona and the connection to Madrid. I called the booking service to tell them that we needed to cancel the room in Madrid at this hotel and book a room in Barcelona where we would eventually get to late that night. The service talked to One Shot Recoletos about our emergency, but they refused to reimburse our money, even though the situation was a true emergency, and we were having to incur even more out-of-pocket costs for another hotel and additional flights. When an establishment values a few dollars over helping stranded travelers, they are in the wrong business. I could never recommend this hotel to anyone. BTW, this hotel managed to get both TripAdvisor and Hotels.com to remove my review from their sites.
