One Shot Tabakalera House (San Sebastian, Basque Country) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"For nearly a century, one of San Sebastián’s larges plots of land was occupied by a riverside tobacco factory. When the industry was privatized, the factory closed, and the Basque government snapped up the property with the plans to open a cultural center. Today, this landmark building has been cleverly redesigned — a prism-like glass roof now encloses the large interior courtyard, lending the structure a striking new silhouette. Today this old tobacco factory is the Tabakalera International Center for Contemporary Culture — and the One Shot Tabakalera House boutique hotel." - Tablet Hotels

During our trip we spent 2 nights in this hotel. My husband and I were impressed by the second level in our room, AC worked just fine, reception personnel was super friendly! Breakfasts were okay, coffee tasted great! I'm having doubts about cleaning though, as after the first night no one seemed to clean the second level and all the cups and garbage stayed the way we left it, but I think that would be deal with have we told the reception. As for the other matters, everything was great, bed was really nice and soft. This hotel has very convenient location: a little walk, and you can easily get to any important part of the city, plus bus and train station are very close.

We stayed here for 2 nights & loved it! We really liked the design of the hotel and the rooms. Very cool. The bed was amazing- large with beautiful towels, linen and THE BEST pillows! There is a kettle and fridge. It is well located for the centre of town, the old town, harbour and especially the train and bus station(virtually next door). We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment. The staff were very nice. Highly recommend.

At first glance, Hotel One Shot Tabakalera House completely matched our taste – modern design, tasteful décor, and a clean, contemporary style that immediately appealed to us. However, there are a few noticeable downsides: the windows are small and cannot be opened, which makes the room feel a bit stuffy. The curtain fabric is little, so darkening the room is difficult, and overall the rooms feel rather dim. Another issue was the Wi-Fi, which barely worked and couldn’t be fixed for three days. On the positive side, the complaint management was excellent – staff were professional, understanding, and offered a discount on the room rate as compensation. Aparking garage is conveniently located near the hotel, and guests receive a discount through the hotel. All in all, a stylish hotel with good service, but with some room for improvement in comfort and technical reliability.

Stayed for one night and received a free upgrade, which was great. Really handy for the bus station and also a manageable walk to the euskotren. We did not have breakfast, it was a Saturday and service did not start until 8 and we needed to be out earlier unfortunately. The room was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable.

I stayed here as part of a business trip. Pros were that the room was spacious, bed was very comfy and the internet was good. Small gym but good to have. Negatives were the noise and location. As this hotel is a little bit outside of town, the intention was that it would be a bit quieter and away from the loud bars in town. Unfortunately on two nights, I was woken by the noise on the street, and one of these lasted over three hours until 3.30 am. This was directly outside of my window and I contacted reception on several occasions to see what was going on. I raised this with staff the following day and although they did apologise for the disruption, essentially they said there was nothing they could do as this is the orientation of the rooms. Had I known how noisy the small square can get outside the hotel, I would not have booked. There is also not too much in terms of shops or restaurants nearby. Cleanliness was generally good, though the bathroom could do with an update in places and the shower would not drain unless the cover was taken off, meaning the shower room always ended up soaking wet.||Overall, the hotel did the job but I would not stay here again at the price paid, and it needs a bit of TCL in places. If you're here to stay out late it would be fine, but not as a business trip.

If you like industrial modern, you'll like this weird light fixtures, lots of useless copper pipes as decoration. However less nice was getting two mosquito bites within the first 15 minutes. The sink has a very high faucet and is activated by your hand waving in front, so you can't get hot water without holding a hand in front of it for a long time. The bathroom door was sliding glass which meant that if someone got up in the night the entire room was lit up and you heard every single noise they made amplified because there are no soft surfaces in room and very high ceilings. The room had tea bags but no coffee. Location right next to the bus station was convenient for us. It's a pretty 15 minute walk to the old town. No issues with the breakfast.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Dirt everywhere, smelly bed linen, sewage smell all over the hotel. I couldn't sleep because of the stench if the bathroom door was left open, but even closing the door didn't help much. The whole hotel was filled with this stench. It felt like I was staying in a public restroom, not a 4-star hotel. You couldn't even open the window in the room to get some air. There were insects running around in the bed linen (I've attached a photo). The water in the shower is very weak. The wifi is terribly unstable and the internet is slow. This hotel needs a major renovation and an overhaul of its cleaning and hygiene. This is not the level of a 4-star hotel. The location of the hotel and the way to it are also a huge minus. This place is definitely not safe for women or solo travelers. A huge disappointment on this trip to San Sebastian and a waste of money spent on accommodation.

Do not stay at this place. Weird rooms with hostile design. AC almost doesn’t work — was too hot to sleep on 2 out of 3 nights we stayed for. The air in the room is hotter than outside, and you can’t open the windows at all. Pretty far from all the good places.
