A charming hotel in a peaceful area. It’s conveniently located — just 3 minutes by subway or 6 minutes by tram from the main station. Many key attractions are within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the room was clean and bright, and the breakfast area felt like a five-star restaurant. The only minor issue was that the bathroom door didn’t close properly. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Hotel Opera. The front desk was very attentive and friendly, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel was situated in a quiet neighborhood. The standout feature of this hotel is undoubtedly the breakfast. If I return to Munich, I will definitely stay here again.

Do not book direct! Paid 760 Euros for 2 nights while booking.com was 500. When i booked only some rooms available but on booking.com more availability. Asked twice to reduce the rate or offer something and was promised that something will be done. On check-out still 760 euros and nothing done. Couldn’t be bothered to argue again. Again do not book direct. Hotel itself is ok. Nice breakfast venue in the courtyard

I really love this hotel—it exceeded my expectations in every way. The hospitality was warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived. Fresh flowers throughout the space added such a charming touch, and the lovely breakfast each morning was a perfect start to the day. The decor is tasteful and cozy, creating a relaxing atmosphere, and the location is super convenient for getting around. Everything here is just great—I can’t wait to come back!

First of all, this is NOT a 4-Star Hotel. It is a 3. It could be a 4, but it’s going to take some work. More on that in a second, but here’s a PSA about their pricing: I booked this hotel over 6 months ago and paid a premium price ($450 Euros per night) for a standard room. I checked the pricing occasionally after booking, but not near my cancellation date. I wish I had. When they upgraded us to a junior suite I checked current prices and found the standard room rate was down to $150 Euros per night and their premium (i.e. most expensive) suite was $320. Shame on me - live and learn. Now to the room.||We had one of 3 rooms in the hotel that is air conditioned. It needed it. That was the high point. The room itself was decorated in what I called “Middle Eastern Garage Sale” - with gaudy furnishings from the 1980’s? The shower curtain only covered 1/2 of the tub, and the bathroom was less than 1/2 the size of the walk-in closet? Who needs a large walk-in while traveling? The twin beds were pushed together without a sheet to at least make it seem like a single mattress, but it didn’t matter. They were the most uncomfortable beds we have ever had while traveling - you could hear and feel the springs. The white carpet was stained and dirty. In short, the room was pretty gross and the hotel a bit tired, although you can see the one-time grandeur in the lobby.||The staff, however, were wonderful, accommodating, and really seemed to care about the guests. This hotel could be so much more! Until they address their issues I think you can do better. It’s a quiet location and an easy walk (10-15 minutes) to all the tourist “hot spots.” Munich itself was fun and definitely worth visiting.

This exquisite boutique hotel is situated within walking distance of the designer shops in Maximillian Strasse, the old town and market, the opera house and the extensive English Gardens. They only provide breakfast, which is served to your table, and you can almost sit anywhere you like to eat it. The hotel has a restaurant just up the road, but we didn't have time to try it. All rooms are decorated with a different theme. We had the 'Chinese' room. The adjoining bathroom has everything you need but is small, that's the only reason I have deducted a star. All the staff are lovely- you only have to ask! Recommended.

Hotel Opera was a great find. We were greeted warmly, our room was perfect, cosy, beautifully appointed. The location could not be better for walking and touring. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever to return to Munich.

This is one of the loveliest hotels I’ve ever experienced. Everyone who works there is incredibly nice, it is elegant, beautifully decorated, comfortable, well located, and the breakfast is absolutely sublime!

Yelp
This place is much better in conception than in execution. Appealing exterior, pleasant neighborhood, accommodating staff (although they did seem to make a lot of mistakes). As with so many older hotels, the rooms differ vastly in size and quality--they fobbed us off with what I'm pretty sure was a single: at best, one of the most cramped doubles I ever saw. Worse, the furniture was largely sticks with fabric draped over (the table came from a patio) to conceal the humble origins. On a complaint, they did move us to a larger room--superficially more attractive but still seemed to be pretty cheap stuff. Breakfast was in the same vein. Food that looked good but was nothing special, served on dishes that looked classy but were really nothing of he sort. And with so many older hotels, the number of things to trip or stumble over is almost beyond counting. And a warning: also so many older European hotels, no air conditioning. Don't try to take a nap in a west-facing room in Juky.
