A truly beautiful hotel. It's been very well conserved and is a real antique beauty. We stayed in December when the temperature was close to 0 degrees but the heating was blasting and the rooms were cosy and comfortable. We were travelling for work and the owner José had no issue in allowing my husband to use the conference room for a meeting with a client. Breakfast was a real treat. Freshly squeezed orange juice and a full range of continental choices. We will definitely be back.

We stayed here in late February, 2023, and while the weather was unseasonably cold, the warmth of the welcome at this hotel made up for it. The host is very thoughtful, the room is very comfortable, and we enjoyed our short stay. The views from the eastern town wall are spectacular, and walking around the old town is peaceful and interesting. The breakfast was especially nice, in a beautiful room, with tasty traditional food.

The hotel is a beautiful private residence (palace-type) built in the 1750s where four rooms have been converted to cater for travelers. The rooms and common spaces are nicely decorated with original furniture and art, generating a very cosy and antique atmosphere. The host, Pepe, still lives on the upper floor and is very kind and forthcoming on all matters. Breakfast was rich and served in a marvellous former ball room. The bathroom was spacey with an excellent shower. Good value and highly recommended.||Desired improvement: wi-fi in the rooms.

Pepe is a warm and friendly host who gave us lots of god local tips. The hotel is well maintained with many traditional and interesting artefacts and paintings. The room was huge and well appointed. We enjoyed our stay in Ubeda very much. Thanks Pepe

The mansion of Ordóñez Sandoval has been in the same family for generations. In 2015 the son of the present owner converted three or four of the ground floor rooms into very comfortable bedrooms and opened as a hotel. Many of the private rooms have been maintained and furnished as they were a century ago and we much enjoyed a tour of these and the private chapel.||Our room was very large, high ceilings and stone flagged floor with an ample sized bathroom built into the room. A big bath and lots of hot water! The room had plenty of living space – desk, table, two armchairs and a sofa – so would be ideal for a stay of several nights. The free wifi signal was strong.||Breakfast was on the first floor in a room decorated with a collection of antique fans. Excellent freshly squeezed orange juice, a selection of meats and cheese, and of course fruits, yoghurts, cereals, breads, jams etc, as well as torta de aceite – delicious – which we had not tried before. ||The location of hotel Ordóñez Sandoval is very central, so only a short walk to the main sights of Úbeda and restaurants. The hotel has no car park but paid parking is very close and we probably could have found free parking if we had looked a little further.||Overall a delightful and interesting place to stay. Just one slight niggle : Being British we would have liked a kettle and a handful of tea bags in the room!

Really authentic experience, spotlessly clean, great location with parking close by, friendly and welcoming host, very much appreciated the gluten free (notified in advance) options at breakfast and the best freshly squeezed orange juice we’ve had.

My husband and I visited with another couple for three nights. The hotel is actually a converted private residence that has been in the host’s family for 300 years. It has many original furnishings & personal touches such as a display of framed fans that belonged to the host (Pepe’s) Grandmother. The bedrooms are former sitting rooms, so they are large & elegant, but updated with private bathrooms & extra outlets. Pepe is very concerned about his guests’ comfort; for instance we were sitting in the courtyard drinking s bottle of wine using water glasses which is all we had, & he came by with wine glasses. Nice breakfast with a selection of fresh fruit, breads, local smoked meats, & cheeses. Reasonably priced & nicely-located in the city with nearby offsite parking.

Beautiful hotel. It is like staying in a small piece of history! Architecture is stunning. Some lovely old furniture and dressings. Bedrooms very comfortable. A great place to stay in this UNESCO Heritage Site city. Staff are warm and friendly.
