the rooms weren't the most modern/clean but they were functional and the majority of my experience was ok. the catering, on the other hand, is dreadful. They're better at bad cooking than the average british household (i know from personal experience) and they don't label allergens very well, especially in the case of egg, but it's their loss because it's their toilets that intolerant people will destroy!

My experience at Hotel Örk was very disappointing. The food was terrible—the sausages tasted highly processed, the beans were extremely watery, and the mashed potato was so runny I couldn’t eat it. Portion sizes were also very small. The service was lacking. The staff treated me not like an adult, and the front desk was clearly disorganised at times. Housekeeping only comes on the third night and must be requested in advance, which I did, yet they still never turned up. There was also a clear disparity in room quality. Other members of my party had modern, clean rooms, while ours was noticeably older and not refurbished, which was disappointing. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend staying here—poor food, inconsistent service, and uneven room quality made for a frustrating experience.

This was our first stop on a self-guided tour of Iceland, and it was just what we needed after a six-hour flight. Comfortable rooms, bountiful breakfast, friendly staff. The breakfast room was crowded with tour groups, but it was fun to see everyone having a great time.

Husband and I were with a tour group and one of the hotels we stayed in was Hotel Ork. Food and accommodations were standard. Not super fancy, but clean. Breakfast buffet had lots of choices. Staff was pleasant. Lots of hot water! Bed was comfortable.

Stayed a week as part of our bus trip. Clean comfortable rooms, fresh linens and towels, Many youth groups were also staying but we did not have any noise from them in our area of hotel. Adequate breakfast daily. Clean pools and activity rooms.

This hotel was simplistically wonderful. The staff were kind and helpful. The room was great. The connector for the two twin beds was hardly noticeable, felt like sleeping on a true king size bed. The pool and spa looked great, though we didn’t visit it this time. The game room was a fun addition to the stay. Breakfast was good and filling. The location is perfect too. All in all, we would happily return to this hotel again.

A horrible pool experience!!! The pool changing rooms are awful. There are no lockable closets, no staff on duty and when we went there, there was a group of unsupervised teenagers with their phones who had no respect for the privacy of other guests. All swimming pools in Iceland have rules that clearly state that all guests need to shower before entering the pool area but none of the other guests did. The hot tubs were cold and dirty and we couldn't wait to get out of there. But on a positive note, the room was very comfortable and clean :) Since the hotel makes a point of having an on-site swimming pool, I can only give it 3 stars after that awful experience at the pool.
