Hôtel Ormelune (Val d'Isere, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) 1 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There was a time not all that long ago when fans of contemporary hotels, if they were in the market for a ski holiday, had to set aside their preferences and make peace with the typical Alpine lodge. That’s hardly the case anymore — the Ormelune, in Val d’Isère, is as fine an example as you’ll find anywhere of the new-breed fun and funky boutique ski hotel." - Tablet Hotels

This is a fantastic hotel based in the heart of Val.......went with a mate for 4 days skiing, the room was a bit cosy and two single beds but fine and the bathroom was very good. Breakfast was very good, buffet style with choice of English, continental and French and top quality. The staff were really friendly and helpful, went out of their way to make the stay as pleasant as possible, and the whole vibe was very relaxed.||Highly recommend and would definitely book again

Nothing was too much trouble at this hotel. From the welcoming arrival to our departure everyone was so helpful and friendly. |Location is excellent, just of Main square, so easy to ski in and out… perfect when legs are tired |Breakfast had a great selection of food and catered for those with gluten or dairy intolerances. |A couple of stand outs by the staff; |No mirror in bedroom, asked at reception if they had one and within a few hours this was supplied |Each morning the breakfast staff would bring me sliced lemons for my hot water without me having to ask |One of the breakfast ladies (we didn’t get her name) even explained to us the Mountain View we had for our table at breakfast and was very interested in where we would be skiing that day |Our departure time was early at 7.10, the hotel opened breakfast early so that people could have breakfast before departure |Highly recommend this hotel, has a lovely feel and all their staff really want to care and help you and make sure your stay is how you want it to be

Nothing really stands out except location. Everything is convenient. Nice bars and restaurants in close proximity. Next door is a great store for finding techy stuff like cables and chargers (key maker). Service is good but English speakers are scarce, to be expected in France. Surprisingly good food with Spanish cuisine and tapas, again expected in France. You could almost ski-in, lifts are close by, carrying skis less than 5 minutes. Ski lessons center is across the hotel, access under a minute. Meeting area ski access for lessons is also close by, walking distance under 2 minutes. Good après-ski options near by. Cocorico is under 10 mins on foot, 2 mins with ski.

Spent a week in the small beautiful boutique hotel. The service and hospitality were excellent nothing was too much trouble - Great location for skiers with roomy lockers for skis - would definitely stay again and highly recommend. We booked a large room which had loads of space for storage and was very comfortable .

It is a nice hotel with a perfect location. I was mostly satisfied with my stay (mostly loved the sauna facility, breakfast and location). However, I believe the hotel doesn’t fully give the 4 star experience. The gym is very insufficient in my opinion and the rooms are quite basic yet comfortable. The isolation in between the rooms are poor. If you want to stay in a fairly good price, nice but not luxury hotel in Val d’Isere this place is a fit for you

Fabulous location with 2 minute walk to slopes and 2 minute walk to center of town. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast will keep you going all day. I love the happy colors and cow theme. What truly stands out, though, is the impeccable service from the lovely staff. Marie took wonderful care of us.

I had a excellent stay here for the last 10 days! good food, nice staff and overall a great room.|A very warm welcome. |Great position, right after the Main Street and close to the skilifts. |All the facilities where in the building, even a washing machine. Very good!|If I have to give one negative thing it has to be that the staff working in de restaurant are very quick with clearing the table ones you finished… everything else was great!|I’ll hope to be back next year, thx everyone who works there!

Great little hotel conveniently located 1 block off the main street in Val d'isere. ||My only real complaint, and I've seen it in Ormelune reviews before, is the heat level in the rooms! And this review is by someone who is almost always complaining about being COLD. We turned the room radiator know to zero - and it was still hot! The beds are made up with only a bottom sheet and this 6 inch thick down comforter, which made it even more suffocating. No top sheet! So all week we slept on top of the beds with no covers. And there was a sign in the elevator warning guests NOT to open windows, as that could cause a radiator rupture and the guest would be charged $500 Euros. So they are aware of the heat problem, but do nothing about it. Unfortunately, I've come across these exact same conditions in numerous small hotels in the Alps, various countries. Why so damn hot??? And why nothing but heavy down comforters?
