Hotel Padmini Nivas

We had planned just a night’s stay at Padmini Nivas, Mussoorie, but due to heavy rainfall and landslides, the roads got badly damaged and we unexpectedly had to extend our stay for 4 days. In such a stressful situation, the management and owners were extremely supportive and kind. Not only did they allow us to stay without any extra cost, but they also ensured that we were comfortable and had everything we needed during those days. Their generosity and concern truly touched us, and it showed how much they value their guests beyond business. Thank you so much to the entire team who made us feel good in such an extreme situation. Highly recommended—not only for the heritage charm and beauty of the property, but also for the warmth, care, and humanity shown by the people who run it.

We had a wonderful experience staying at Padmini Niwas on Mall Road in Mussoorie. The location is right in the middle of Mall Road, yet peaceful and relaxing.||||The delicious vegetarian food—freshly prepared, full of flavour was the highlight. It truly felt very comforting.||||The atmosphere of the hotel was homely and very comfortable. The staff is polite, helpful. Our room was clean, cozy, and had all the basic amenities. I returned to this hotel after 17 years and the stay was equally memorable.||||Overall, it was a memorable stay with family, and we would definitely recommend this family-friendly hotel in Mussoorie. Would definitely love to come back again!

I visited with my friends in July and had booked an apartment for our stay. Our overall experience was excellent. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful, and the food was incredibly delicious. From the balcony of our room, we had a stunning view of the entire Doon Valley

Location and Accessibility Nestled on the quieter end of Mussoorie’s iconic Mall Road, this hotel enjoys a prime yet less crowded location. It offers two convenient entry points: Mall Road Entrance: Accessible from the Library Chowk end by paying a ₹150 entry fee (per vehicle). The hotel is just a few meters down on the right, making it easily reachable. Back Entrance: A lifesaver during peak hours, located about 500 meters before Library Chowk. Call the hotel when nearby, and their staff will guide you to this hassle-free entry. I highly recommend using the back entrance to avoid congestion. Ambiance and Facilities Despite being an older property, the hotel has been beautifully renovated, exuding charm and elegance. The front lawn, opposite the reception, offers a stunning bird’s-eye view of Dehradun, especially enchanting during evening and night hours. However, the dining room feels cramped and somewhat claustrophobic. I suggest enjoying meals in your room or the spacious area near the reception for a more comfortable experience. Rooms and Service The rooms are spotlessly clean and well-maintained, reflecting excellent housekeeping. The staff’s service is exceptional, attentive, and accommodating, making guests feel truly valued. Food Quality This is a strictly vegetarian hotel, and the food quality and portion sizes are outstanding. The upma was a standout—I loved it so much that I took two plates home and enjoyed them for days! Meals are prepared in refined oil by default, but you can request desi ghee or butter for dishes like roti (note: desi ghee may not suit all tastes). The kitchen happily customizes orders based on your preferences, adding a personal touch. For non-vegetarian options, nearby restaurants like My Shop (near Picture Palace) and Kalsang on Mall Road are excellent choices. Overall This hotel combines a prime location, impeccable service, and delicious vegetarian cuisine with a charming, updated design. While the dining room could use more space, the stunning views, clean rooms, and customizable meals make it a delightful stay. Highly recommended for vegetarians and those seeking a serene retreat with easy access to Mussoorie’s vibrant Mall Road.

Perfect Stay and very helpful staff. The property is right on the mall road to access the main areas yet it is tucked inside from all the noise. Inside the property is quaint and provides a space which feels very warm. I will always stay here every time i visit Mussoorie.

We had booked the stay for a day and paid around ~5k. I can't even explain how disappointed we were with the room. It's not worth it at all. Old room, broken basin and the horrible smell (due to nearby drainage?). Although the food was good, and the stay is very close to the mall road, which is why we booked it, I would not recommend anyone staying here, at least not in the standard room.

One of the few places left in mussoorie which retains its old world charm. Great hospitality too. The vegetarian restaurant was a pleasant surprise.
