The hotel is a lovely building with well kept and welcoming garden areas. Its a good base for exploring Somiedo natural park. We hired electric bikes in the small town (10 minute walk). We tried hard to see bears but were unlucky, despite an excellent guide. If you want an English speaking guide and area going at a peak time then do book in advance of your trip, there are a number of companies. Very friendly team at the hotel. Town has a number of places to eat that we found were OK (rather than excellent).

We stayed at this beautiful family hotel for 6 nights and only wished it had been for longer. Manuel, his family and team made us and our three little girls feel extremely welcome and most comfortable throughout our stay with nothing being too much trouble. The breakfast of fresh produce was served in a beautiful dining area, we particularly loved the Tanzanian table linen and the fact that all produce was fair trade. The apartment we stayed in was spotlessly clean and had everything a family could require. The grounds of the hotel are absolutely stunning, a real tranquil little oasis. We dearly hope to return to a place which goes down as one of our most beautiful places to stay in the world. Thank you so much Manuel for a wonderful stay.

We spent the second week of our cycling holiday here; by misadventure - our planned accommodation could not take us at the last minute, so our host booked us into 'the best accommodation in the village', which I have no doubt is true. We were welcomed by Manuel and his team to this beautiful gem; an ancient country house belonging now to the descendants of a famous Spanish economist. ||The self catering apartments are set close to the old house and beautifully refurbished. They were well equipped and nothing was too much trouble (housing the road bikes / wifi / directions...) Manuel's English was better than our Spanish by a country mile, and we were made to feel very at home. The setting is stunning; a little rill runs through the garden, (perfect for cooling the local cider) there is a dovecot, chapel and the house is grand, and beautifully furnished and panelled. The gardens are beautifully maintained and the pool refreshing. The mountains rise on each side and the village is five minutes walk away. It is beautiful, comfortable and was spotlessly clean. I'd have no hesitation returning and can't recommend this lovely hotel and apartments highly enough.

The hotel is located a few hundred metres from the centre of the town in a tranquil location. We were given a very warm welcome by Manuel the hotel owner, who provided us with a great breakfast every morning of our stay including delicious homemade specialities. He was also very happy to cater to our special dietary requests. It was the perfect place to base ourselves for two days of bear watching in early April - in fact we were lucky to have the whole place to ourselves! We enjoyed using the tennis court but it wasn't quite warm enough yet to enjoy the outdoor pool. On our last evening we were all bit too tired to make it into town for dinner and Manuel kindly offered to cook us something simple to eat at the hotel. Really nothing was too much trouble for him. And he has some fantastic stories to share about the history of the house, the region and his family. A really memorable visit - we can't wait to go back in the Summer!

We had a quiet, lovely room with a view of the entrance. The owners dog is super cute, friendly and will play fetch all morning! Breakfast was simple, yet elegant and the grounds are beautiful. The walk into town is quick and there are super affordable options for dinner. I can’t wait to go back. Worth the trip!

The hospitality of the owner is second to none. And that is why the review gets five stars. |The property is very historic, but beware with heritage comes some non ideal features such as the potential for noise. We were lucky and we’re almost on our own in the hotel while there. But the doors are thin and floor boards creeky. I do not write this to put you off booking but to remind you to take ear plugs. The character adds a real pleasantness about the place and feels very homely. |The house is in a lovely setting and only 5 min walk from the centre of the village. |And again the emphasise the owners are amazingly hospitable and will go over and above to ensure you have a great visit. By the time I left I felt I should be inviting him over to my home. |

Fully agree with the positive reviews below. ||||The grounds, the hotel, the hosts and the surroundings are fabulous. ||||We visited for 3 nights as a party of 5 with '2 adults, 2 kids' in an apartment and another adult in the hotel. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay- the hosts are incredibly friendly, the grounds including pool are kid, photo & picnic perfect, restaurants and little supermarkets are within walking distance and there are many relatively easy hikes. ||||I look forward to returning- I know that Hotel Florez Estrada will be our new 'favorite hotel experience ever' memory.

Manu and Ines were amazing hosts, the apartments so comfortable. We all slept like complete babies there, it was so peaceful. The setting of the hotel (so carefully restored) with the tower and the church, the pool for children and the hospitality shown by Manu and Ines made the stay unforgettable. Apartments are decked out with all amenities, and the icing on the cake was the intimate concert on site on the Saturday night. We will be back!
