Hotel Palacio de Sal

This is a very good hotel. The staff is extremely friendly, and the common areas are very beautiful. The pool and sauna area in the spa are very nice, although the number of lounge chairs by the pool is very limited. There’s a small amusement park with a merry-go-round and a Ferris wheel, along with a restaurant/karaoke bar.|The rooms are comfortable but very small, with no closet or drawers to organize our clothes. The bathroom is good, but the shower is really small (I have only seen such small showers in budget hotels, which is not the case here).|The food is very good, made with regional products such as quinoa and llama meat. It’s a little overpriced, though.|Nevertheless, it is a high-level hotel compared to the choices in the region.

A theme park in the Salar is a weird and wonderful concept. You'll be stranded in the hotel because of it's location, but that's okay, there's loads to do from enjoying the swimming pool and sauna, playing on the fairground, to eating in any of their three different restaurants. The food was delicious and they cater for a vegetarian diet. The room was gorgeous, with salt details everywhere. Staff were so unbelievably friendly and accommodating. We got stuck there on election day and they let us use the grounds all day while they helped us work out how they could get permission to operate a taxi.

Our 2-night stay here was a unique experience which we enjoyed. The food was great and the service level at the restaurants was very good. I will highlight a couple of shortcomings. We had a “VIP matrimonial” room (#114) and it was just ok. The bed was a double size which is narrow if you are used to sleeping in a queen or king size bed. Also, the shower in this particular room ran hot/cold which was not great after a long day. Other than that, it was a great experience that we will not soon forget.

I spent two nights at the Palacio de Sal and it was a truly unique and memorable experience. The hotel’s location right on the edge of the Uyuni Salt Flats is unbeatable—perfect for enjoying both sunrise and sunset, which were absolutely breathtaking. The facilities were excellent. The spa and massage services provided a wonderful way to relax after exploring the salt flats, and the atmosphere of the hotel itself is unlike anywhere else in the world. The breakfast was also outstanding, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day. Everything about the stay felt special, from the distinctive architecture to the comfort of the rooms, and the overall service was warm and attentive. In short, Palacio de Sal is more than just a hotel—it’s part of the experience of visiting Uyuni. Highly recommended for anyone wanting comfort, relaxation, and an unforgettable setting.

I was at Palacio de Sal for 5 days and had an unforgettable experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel itself is stunning — especially the outdoor area with its carousel and fire pits, perfect for relaxing. What truly made the difference was the amazing staff. Special thanks to Victor (tour guide) and Eric (driver) — an outstanding team! Oscar at the front desk was incredibly helpful. In the park area, Noemi, Daniel, and Ruben were all fantastic. David, Ramiro, Ernesto, and the rest of the restaurant team were super attentive, and Maribel at the shop was lovely. Every single person went above and beyond. I’ll definitely be back in a few months — thank you for such a memorable stay!

Extremely satisfied with the stay at this hotel. Every hotel in Bolivia disappointed in some way but not this one! The service is amazing, the spa is great, the food is great, the rooms were great, and the location is also right on the salar. Highly recommend!

It's a good hotel, a little old, and needs some fixing. The bathroom needs some attention as well. The service in the buffet area needs improvement. The front desk was fabulous. I forgot her name, but she was very thorough when she checked us in. She was very friendly and professional.

What an interesting place to stay. Beautifully presented hotel. Staff were lovely. For me the buffet was disappointing, but the breakfast omelet was great. Small double beds were a shock after a month of travel sleeping in huge beds. Our shower was hot then cold and we were in a upgrade room
