We were well prepared for no taxi going to hotel steps etc.. Getting there was not a problem, with short taxi ride from station and few steps up to the hotel. Was looking forward to a lovely historic building. We also had a room with a view of the Alhambra, which was very nice. So, why three stars? |The room was extremely small. Like, extremely small. Just wide enough for a bed and two narrow spaces on three sides. Still ok, given the historic building, but we have stayed in similar properties before and this was small! |Having an in room safe with a large hole where the lock should be, has absolutely nothing to do with being in a historic building. This was just poor maintenance. The other significant issue was breakfast, the food, the breakfast room and service. Traveling all over Spain multiple times, we have a decent idea of hotel breakfasts. This one was inadequate. The breakfast room itself is so small that folks were either crowded around too small tables or standing and waiting, or taking their food outside. There was only one person for all tasks at breakfast, and she was clearly overworked and unable to keep up.
